My passenger seat belt light started blinking and the dealer said I needed a new chip in the seat at a cost of $8,000. I went online to see what other Infiniti car owners were experiencing and it turns out this is happening with all their cars. I can not tell if the airbag is working or will work if I have an accident. This seems like it should be covered by a recall. Please advise.

My Infiniti has 100,000 miles on it. Nothing at all happened to cause my problem - no accident, nothing special. It just suddenly, for no apparent reason, now has a flashing indicator that represents a problem with the passenger air bag that will cause it to fail massachusetts state inspection. I took it to the dealership in Infiniti of nashua in nh. I was told that it was a sensor problem, not a problem with the airbags themselves. Alas, the sensor can only be fixed my replacing the entire seat assembly. I was assured that this was very minor in terms of labor (maybe a couple of hours), but that it would require me to purchase an extremely expensive part. The dealership quoted me $10,000 for a car that is now worth about $12,000. When I did not jump at this offer, they contacted m

Airbag sensor for the passenger side has gone bad resulting in the airbag not deploying if in an accident. Stationary. Repair cost os over $9,000.00. After research have found that this seems to be a manufactures defect but no recall has been issued for the year and model.

Airbag warning light came on. Took the car to the dealer and they gave me an estimate of $10,858.62 to repair the airbag! I feel that this is a defect and should be a recall item as I have since read several complaints of the same exact problem! This car has been kept in the garage and only driven when the weather is beautiful! it only has 29,100 miles on it. We bought it from the Infinity dealer in Annapolis, MD in 2012.

Airbag warning light flashing. Dealer evaluation showed occupant seat sensor unit failure. Told whole bottom seat assy needs to be replaced. Part alone is $6500+ I feel this should be covered by the manufacturer. There was no accident, collision, trauma, etc. Warning light began in august 2019. Extended warrantee expired 7/31/19

Takata recall: Infiniti recalled an entire line of cars with faulty air bags/seat sensors, but did not cover all cars. I have a 2011 Infiniti g37x with only 50k miles that I am being charged 7k to replace a seat cushion that has a failed sensor. This problem is widely known in a significant number of infinitis, yet the manufacturer will not repair obviouly faulty parts that were installed. This presents a massive saftey issue if I cannot afford a repair that I should never have to make. Name another car of any make/model that has seat cusions fail. It is disgusting that Infiniti will not correct their error, and worse that a government agency that is aware of the problem doesnt support buyers who are obviously being taken advantage of.

The airbag warning light is blinking in the dashboard and the passenger airbag is registering as off even when an adult is sitting in the passenger seat. Infiniti identified the issues as a faulty sensor in the passenger seat and is charging upwards of $7,000 for a repair for something that is a pure safety issue.

Passenger airbag not active light on dashboard on all the time regardless if someone is sitting in the seat with seat belt latched . I have 25,500 miles on the vehicle and I am concerned the passenger is at risk if the airbag will not operate in a crash. Seat sensor defective per on-line forums and a $6,000.00 fix to replace passenger seat w sensor built in to correct it.

Airbag sensor bad. Due to poor design of location of sensor, The repair for this sensor involves the complete removal and replacement of the front passenger seat. The cost of the repair for this sensor estimate from dealership is $4200. Neither Infiniti nor Nissan will financially assist with this obscene repair cost due to design and location of sensor. Without this repair, no airbag in the car will work as intended. We were told that should the driver continue to drive the vehicle without the repair, the airbag could spontaneously deploy, potentially causing great bodily harm to driver and the public. The other issue that is likely to occur is that should the vehicle be involved in an accident, none of the airbags will deploy as intended. The car can not be driven at this time.

Nissan/Infiniti safety issue the airbag light is blinking - sewell Infiniti mentioned that it was the occupant detection sensor and it would be roughly 6000 to fix. This is an insane amount for a deadly issue as my airbags will not deploy if I am in an accident. A google search shows a trend of this problem occurring with the g37, and it needs to be a recall. Nissan/Infiniti have several other models that have been recalled for the exact same problem - this is a defect from the manufacturer they are trying to sweep under the rug on a car with under 60,000 miles. I bought the car with 36,000 miles and have not had a single issue up until now.

The sunroof’s drain ports clogging up is a known common issue to Infiniti dealers, as I have learned while taking my car in after the entire dashboard & electronics shorted out. The mechanic told me this is a common occurrence during the rainy season. Water may intrude the body through the clogged ports and the first location the water goes, happens to be the lower passenger side which ALSO happens to be the location of the body control module (BCM). The car has stopped operating on me in the middle of driving, and also wouldn’t allow me to get out of the gear I was in. What could be a $50 - $150 repair turns into a $2500 - $2800 repair.

After less than 3700 miles the convertible to has been dented by the retracting mechanism. The dealer indicates it is due to stopping the retraction and lifting of the top by the hydraulic system. It is not covered under warranty. The purpose of the hydraulic lift and retract system is just that, to lift and retract! How can normal operation create damage to the vehicle? *kb

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Infiniti g37 convertible. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH attempting to avoid a squirrel, the driver slammed on the brakes and the seat belt failed to retract. The contact attempted to duplicate the failure by slamming on the brakes after accelerating and the seat belt did not catch at any point. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and was informed that the seat belts were operating as designed and that she should not be worried since the air bag was what would save her in the event of a crash. The contact was not satisfied with that answer. The manufacturer was notified but offered no assistance. The failure and current mileage was 25,000. Updated 01/29/13*lj updated 01/30/13

As I was waiting to cross a major highway junction in upper marlboro, md, I almost had a collision after crossing the highway due to what I suspect a faulty transmission with hesitation in shifting. There was a SUV waiting to turn and while I had the right of way, they pulled off and as my chance to cross the 2 lane highway, they did too. I punched the gas and in the middle of the road, the engine took a few seconds to get into gear so I literally was in the road of oncoming traffic that was driving at speeds in excess of 55+ MPH. It happened within 5 seconds but after I crossed avoiding a front and side collision, I pulled off the road because I was shaking. Other instances while driving at highway speeds that I pull into the left hand lane to pass a car in front of me and the engine

Hydraulic clutch fluid overheating causing catastrophic clutch piston failure resulting in not being able to engage, shift, or most importantly disengage the current drive gear in motion. The safety condition of not being able to disengage the operation of the vehicle puts the occupants at risk by limiting the ability to prevent collision. I have experienced this failure approximately every 20,000 miles, leaving the vehicle stranded on the highway with each occurrence of the event.

Car died at 2 years 35k. Wouldn't start despite apparent accessory power. Rolled down hill damaging door. Car was used normally every day and was never left in a manner that would draw power while parked. It was also never left undriven for more than 12 hours. The car was, however, driven for mostly short trips. Dealer diagnosed it as a dead battery. An internet search shows that this is an extremely widespread problem. There is a tsb for the coupe but not the sedan for a continuous power leakage from the vent control valve. Http://www.infinitig37.com/tsb/1st34.pdf. *tr
