2011 Nissan Maxima owner complaints

The vehicle was in motion. While turning steering wheel slightly left entering into a curve, the 4 tires of the vehicle did not follow the command given by the steering wheel. Please note that the steering wheel turned with great ease. While removing foot from accelerator, the car did not slow. The brakes were not working properly and caused the 2011 Nissan maxima to collide with a fixed object. This incident did not occur at a speed fast enough to cause the severe injuries that resulted. The driver side airbag knocked me unconscious and I have no recollection from the moment right before "impact" to when the vehicle came to a complete stop. The dealer replaced the brake light bulb however the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 75,567.

Car periodically goes completely dead even when it is turned off and in park position . Key light keeps on blinking and eventually nothing works. I have to get another car to recharge the battery for at least 3 min. This is the 3rd occurrence and second battery. Brought the car brand new. *tr

I noticed the camera not working when I was backing into my garage after work. Then again the next day when I was backing into my parking space at work. It comes and go now. I'm not sure why it started.

Starter motor failure. Intermittent on and off. Failing starter produces noise when stationary and in motion. Check engine light is intermittent. Diagnosed and confirmed failure in starter.

Steering locked..car will not start. I have to paying for getting the car towed to the dealership. Luckily, I am under 36,000 miles so covered by warranty but will not cover expense for towing the car. I read this is very common issue with Nissan maxima and feel that company should own responsibility for it. *tr

My desktop in my car were getting sticky so I call alexandria la dealer and told my problem but they never responded and now it's getting cracked so I called Nissan consumer affairs and they also told me they can not fix it because seven year of my car.when I had same issue with my Toyota sienna 2008 after 8 years they did replace new desktop free of charge. So please can you look in to it and fix it.

It's hot in florida and my dashboard is melting

I have a 2011 Nissan maxima. The sunroof busted while I was driving down the high way. I had to go to the eye doctor for glass particles being in my eye, and I took the car to the dealership and they could not help me according to the service rep. I bought this car at moore Nissan in birmingham alabama, and they did not have a sense of urgency at all. Vehicle dash coating is breaking down becoming sticky and highly reflective causing sunlight to reflect off dash board onto inside of front windshield making it very difficult to see through windshield when driving.

The front passenger airbag (off) light stays lit on the passenger dash, even when there is an adult in the seat, and a separate one is on the driver's dash panel. Was told it probably was a sensor in the seat and would cost about $1600. It stays like that and never changes. Nissan wants money just to take a look.

My passenger side airbag list has been on for a year now. I am worried that if I have a passenger side they may get hurt because the airbag may not work!! It is highlighted the entire time the engine is running.

The car has a push button start and could not be turned-off. All emergency procedures in the manual were followed and the car could not be turned-off. The deal actually let the car run until it ran out of gas. There was no evidence there was any issue with the car until I went to turn it off, then the engine would not shut-off. A driver could be in need of gas, or need to stop with children in the car and would be in a situation where the car will not stop running. The doors would not lock with the car running. *tr

The Nissan maxima has been taken to the maintenance facility regarding an issue with the tires consistently losing air pressure. Four new tires were placed on the vehicle at the Nissan dealer and the same problem exists. We recently drove to the end of our driveway for distance travel and the tires locked, skidded and sounded as if metal was touching metal. We parked the vehicle and had to take other means of transportation. Each time we take the vehicle into the Nissan dealer for this and similar complaints, we're told it may be the weather, or that the tire pressure light which stays on may be due to a defective fuse, but that was no guarantee that the tire issue would be resolved. Brought vehicle to repair shop because of noise. Repair shop informed me that noise comes from transmission. Did some investigation and found that Nissan has had issues with these CVT transmissions. Nissan had a recall for all years until 2010 including 2010. Not 2011. This is the same transmission that fails prematurely. I called the dealer $145 diagnostic. No guarantees that Nissan will provide "goodwill assistance" . Why did recall stop in 2010?
