This happens every time I drive more than 50 miles at a time . If I am driving for a long time and slow down my car does not accelerate anymore. I ha e to shut my car off for at least 5 min. Before I can start driving again. Something is wrong with the power train. It struggles to keep up and almost sounds like the car is going to die. I have taken it to Nissan dealerships 3 times before my extended warrently was up and paid $100 every time they told me there was nothing wrong after the hook it up to the computer.

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact noticed that the vehicle was jerking prior to the failure. The driver depressed the brake pedal but was concerned about the vehicle moving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified however, no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000. The VIN was not available.
The CVT transmission started to fail. 1 day it started jerking some. 2 or 3 times. The next time was more jerking and harder. The last day the jerking was longer in length of time. Then the transmission became a little louder. The jerking was constant with acceleration. We made it home and parked the car. I did not see a code, the engine light only came on after three condition became questionable as to returning home. No dealer or mechanic has inspected the car. I'm positive it is the transmission from all i read on the internet.
Automatic CVT transmission has been slipping and unable to shift to 3rd and 4th gear. I have to place it into "n" when moving then shift to "d" then it would move but still slips when driving only in 20 to 30 miles per hour.
With no prior warning as I was coming up my driveway and turned to go into the garage, suddenly, without warning, my car would not move forward when the accelerator was pushed.
I have a 2011 Nissan rogue that had 1000mi. On it & I was pulling out of a parking lot, I got into the middle of the lane but the rogue would not accelerate & a vehicle was on my bumper before I knew it! It did get up to 3,000rpm's, no loud noise. It was quite scary. About a wk. Later it did a similar thing but less noticeable & I took it to the dealership & the svc. Person did a diagnostic on it & it showed nothing, so he told me that the next time it did it to drive it to a dealership but if I felt unsafe to call them & they would pick me up. I have not driven it for a long distance & I am afraid to do so. The fear is that I am afraid that someone will have to die before they do something about this scary situation. *tr
Car started stutter at acceleration and gear changes. At low speed as I was accelerating through an intersection, suddenly there was no power at all after a burning smell. Diagnostics show the transmission has failed at 89000 miles. Reminiscent of the CVT transmission failures in other years that have been recalled.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Nissan rogue. While driving 35 MPH, the vehicle decelerated after the RPM gauge fluctuated. In addition, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000.
Car started making slight whirring noise when accelerating. Took it in to be looked at and they couldn't find an issue. Went another week and the noise got worse and starting skipping and losing power when I tried to accelerate after it's been sitting for a few hours, mostly just in first gear. Almost got in an accident pulling into traffic and lost complete power for a few seconds, was lucky enough to get into a turn lane before I got hit by oncoming traffic. Took it to another mechanic and determined it was transmission and needs to be replaced. They're telling me my car could turn into a giant paperweight at any moment.

Electicals problemes alarms go off floors seem to be wet ?
The air bag light remains on .. The driver side door lock actuator actuator keeps buzzing
With no clear reason the passenger seat airbag system became defective. It did not detect passenger and always stays off. Took it to a certified Nissan dealer and they said it is a common issue, and the only fix is to reset it electrically or pay 2,500 for a new passenger seat. I opted to reset it electrically which cost $150 and was a temporary fix as the system resumed being defective after a few days. The defect is very dangerous as is disables the passenger airbag completely and will not deploy in the event of an accident which can be deadly.

Floors seem to be wet now windows always fogged or condensated ? Cant drive un til dry. After its parked windows just fog up I have to bring paper towels !
On interstate, the vehicle felt like it had a "float" feel and occasional shimmy while driving. Upon parking in town, stranger identified vehicle's driver-side rear wheel was not straight. Observation showed ground-contacting point of tire was angled outward from car. Diagnosis by both Nissan dealership and subsequent independent mechanic was extreme rust of undercarriage causing upper control arm to rust through and rot of the underside of car to the point of being "not salvageable" and non-fixable. This meant the rear wheel was wobbling while driving on the interstate and could have completely let go. This vehicle has been consistently maintained as a daily-driver and at only 59k miles, it was mentioned several times that the level of rust was extraordinary.

After being on the highway for about an hour, the car will no longer accelerate. It will hold a constant speed but will not increase. If speed drops it will not increase beyond the current speed. Cruise control kicks off. No check engine light or over heating. Mechanic could not diagnose.

Since april of 2011 (vehicle was 4 months old) I have had my car into Nissan for auto lights not functioning (not shutting off when in daylight), my ipod turns on when the audio is off and the electronic driver seat moves forward by itself. This has been reported and "serviced" more than 10 times already and each time it is "cannot reproduce although they see it happening. The last incident was saturday, 12/14/12 when the setting on the dash changed by themselves and my trunk would not open with the ignition on. On sunday morning, my car engine was locked and my smart key nor the regular key would unlock the steering column. I was out of state when it occurred and had to have it towed to a dealer in ct, I live in ny. Now they claim that all the above was caused by a undersized battery.
steering 1 complaint shown
Backing out of the drive way the power steering would make a noise and momentarily catch. This happened for about10 days and I took it to my car repair shop and the power steering fluid was leaking on the inside of the vehicle and the electronic control panel was malfunctioning. I was told I needed a new electronic column assembly. I had it toed to the Nissan dealer. *tr

On sunday(12/3/17), I drove home from church, parked my car in front of my house and entered my house for less than ten minutes prior to my neighbor knocking on my door to notify me that my Nissan rogue was engulfed in flames. I had no suspicion that anything was wrong with my vehicle to cause a fire. One block from my house I was pulled over by a cop, who notified me that she saw one of my headlights go out. There was no sound, light or smell that would have indicated a problem with my vehicle. I am grateful for being in my house at the start of the fire. I had no aftermarket upgrades done to my vehicle and it was regularly taken in for oil changes and to have tire maintenance. My concern is another Nissan rogue owner will not be as lucky as I was and instead will be driving at the time o
