Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Subaru legacy. While driving the vehicle, the contact had to apply the brakes quickly and the vehicle shut off. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive to his destination. Subaru of muskegon (1878 e sternberg rd, muskegon, mi 49444, (231) 799-2886) diagnosed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that they extended a warranty in 2018, but it had expired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated the same thing as the dealer. The failure mileage was 140,000.
My vehicle began to have trouble stalling when I slowed slowed down because the rpms dropped far too low. I was not able to stop properly without threat of stalling. My vehicle has now stalled more than 5 times while on the roads and highways. I feel that my safety is thoroughly at stake when my car suddenly turns off. I am very dissatisfied with the lack of cooperation that Subaru has to given to compensate me. If stalling out was not enough, my car has now begun to squeal and buck during acceleration. I was on vacation when this issue became worse and could barely make it back home for work on monday. In my research I have found that this is a common problem with legacies & outbacks from the years 2010-2012. I find unethical that all Subaru will do is offer an extended warranty that do
** this has happened numerous times, it is not a one-time event. ** while driving and then applying the brakes to try to stop the car, the engine shudders and then stalls out completely - the engine stops. This happens regularly while braking suddenly to come to a stop, and it seems to be avoidable if the car is brought to a stop very slowly and gradually. The car may stall out when stopping at a stop sign on a local road or when coming to a stop at a traffic light on a street or highway. The car must be shifted into park and then restarted. At times this has created a very dangerous and nervous situation for me and my passengers, as well as other drivers on the road, because it has happened in heavy stop-and-go highway traffic. While momentarily stopped on the highway while trying to

The gas cap seal is not working as it should. It only last two years with 40k miles. The vehicle trip on trouble code: p0456 evaporative emissions system - small leak detected. It happen 4 out of 5 times I fill up my gas tank. Each fill up, I verify that the gas cap is tight - click a couple times. The gas cap is cheap. I can replace it myself but does not like Subaru to become cover up like Toyota. *tr
Description of the Safety Defect: The front subframe on my 2011 Subaru Legacy exhibits advanced structural corrosion with measurable material loss, concentrated primarily on the driver-side subframe. The corrosion affects a primary load-bearing structural member responsible for supporting suspension mounting points and maintaining chassis integrity. The deterioration is asymmetric, with the driver side showing severe degradation while the passenger side remains comparatively intact. This non-uniform corrosion pattern is not consistent with normal environmental exposure, age-related wear, or routine vehicle operation, and indicates a localized failure of corrosion protection or material integrity. The extent of corrosion compromises the subframe’s ability to safely support suspension loads
Whenever the brake is pressed hard to a complete stop, the car stalls and all electrical shut off. It also happens when you brake very slow before coming to a full stop. But if you brake slowly and then pressed the pedal full, the problem will occur. This can cause panic and also delay on cars running behind the car. It appears this is similar problem . I also found a number of similarly reported problems online with Subaru cars. I still dont know whats wrong, just got the car a week ago. Worst mistake I ever made, this car is for son and no way is he safe driving this car.

Low beam headlights have blow out 3 times in one year on both sides of the car. *js
The headlight bulbs keep burning out. This is the low beam. I've had them replaced 13 times during our ownership. This has become exorbitantly expensive, what can I do?

I started vehicle in driveway as usual. Put vehicle in reverse, slowly letting foot off brake, engine began to sputter and sounded like it was about to stall. Braked and put in park to let engine warm for a few more minutes. I proceeded to drive without incident.
All power cuts off periodically while driving. Which can be very dangerous and cause an accident.

No airbag protection, airbag fail indicator on - dealer anticipates $1500 repair. No accidents, never flood damage. And Subaru's selling point is safety at as prime directive!.
Tl* the contact owned a 2011 Subaru legacy. While driving 75 MPH, the contact took his eyes off the road and crashed into a retaining wall. The front driver's air bag deployed and pinned his head between the driver's window and air bag. The occupant sustained a knot on his head, which required medical attention. A police report was filed with nashville metro police (#2017-1079256). The vehicle was towed to hillwood wrecker service and deemed a total loss. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2011 Subaru legacy. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH in snowy conditions, she noticed the check engine and ABS lights illuminated on the instrumental panel. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who informed the contact that she needed to replace battery, the starter, the cable and the ECM. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100. The VIN was unavailable.
Vehicle was stopped at a red light. Upon light acceleration, check engine light came on (and stayed on), parking brake light began to blink, cruise control indicator began to blink, and traction control light came on and stayed on. Driver did not detect any slippage. Authorized Subaru dealer found no problem with oil control valve (ocv) despite computer code indicating potential problem with that part. Dealer, however, indicated oil flush, rather than simply an oil change, was necessary despite less than 5,000 miles since previous oil change. Dealer asserted that oil level was not low, however. Cause of what triggered the indicators to be set off remains unclear. *tr

cruise control 1 complaint shown
While in motion at highway speeds and when attempting to utilize the coast function on the cruise control to temporarily disengage acceleration and/or speed control, the system fails to stop propulsion and continues to accelerate and/or maintain existing speed thereby causing a safety hazard.

About 2 months ago I was braking for a stop light. While I was braking (from about 35mph) I ran over some bumps in the road, at that time the pedal suddenly went to the floor. Luckily there was no one in font of me. I drove to a parking lot to park the car. The brake pedal had little resistance going to the floor as I pumped on the pedal. I had the car towed to the dealer to be serviced. The tow truck driver also mentioned the brakes are non existent at that time. The dealer could not find anything wrong with the brake system. However today (18nov2015) the car experienced the same issue. The conditions was wet. As I braked to a stoplight, I hit a bump and the pedal went to the floor. I felt the ABS kick in for a split second. The car will be going back to the dealer for another inspecti

While driving on a rural paved road our car could not avoid a pothole due to oncoming traffic. The impact of the pothole was severe, the car almost wrecked. The pothole was not huge and the car was only going 35 to 40 MPH. After pulling to the side of the road to determine damage, it was decided there was none and we continued with the short trip, and then back home. The following day while driving on the interstate, we discovered there was a severe shimmy in the drive train. After the weekend, we took the car to the dealer. Once inspected, it was determined the car had two bent rims on the same side as the pothole. I was told this was the nature of low profile tires. I requested a meeting with a representative of Subaru. Two weeks later, I had that meeting. In the mean time, I took th
