Takata recall my van is under this takata recall and its with dealership since last 4 months. I have been provided smaller vehichle from rental company. Since then no one is telling me when my van will be ready. I just tried to call Toyota and they told me since I have been provided rental vehicle thats best they can do at this point. I really dont need this rental vehicle from Toyota. I want my original van back from them. Toyota cant keep my vehicle forever by replacing loaner vehicle. I would like them to either compensate me for all the trouble we are going through or fix my van in timely manner.

In july of 2011 Toyota sent a notice of recall on the 2wd sienna vans for a problem of excessive corrosion of the spare tire carrier. They said the remedy was under development. It is now december and every time I call Toyota they say they have not yet developed a remedy and are wording on it. Heir temporary solution was to remove the spare tire and put it in the back of the van. To me a reasonable time for this to be resolved would be 1-2 months, it is now going on 5 months and no notice of resolution. I feel that myself and everyone else effected by this recall notice have waited far to long. *tr

My car was parked as I opened the sliding door behind the driver's seat I heard a pop as the door opened and the cable that opened the door snapped off sendinding the door forward. The end of the cable was corroded. I see they have other door safety problems with corrosion I think the cable should be included with the recall. Sincerely. When accelerating vehicle makes loud humming noise. Stops when you take your foot off the gas. I was told it is the rear differential. I have read many complaints about this faulty part. Why is this not being investigated? $2000 repair.

Problems : lost acceleration when the car was free running (no gas pedal applied) down hill or declined roads at about 8-10 MPH, while the engine speed was 1100rpm or above ( this mostly happened in winter while the engine was cold or not warm up, but it happened in hot engine too), if I stepped on the gas pedal to accelerate the car at this time, the car would not pick-up speed and accelerate; it acted like the car was being driven in neutral; the gas pedal felt lighter than normal; even if the engine was running up from 1000rpm to 1800rpm, I still couldn't feel the accelerating; it acted like continuing its free running. Only when the engine ran up to1800-2000rpm then the car started pick-up some acceleration. In other words, three conditions must happen at the same time to see this

While driving the car, the steering caution light came on and the steering wheel completely locked causing the vehicle to pull to the left. Brakes where applied to slow down vehicle. Vehicle shows no recall for this and Toyota has been contacted a few times and feels this is not covered under warranty. Car has been placed on computer and shows many faulty codes, but they cannot figure out the problem, since this problem is intermittent. It continues to happen more often. Toyota will fix electrical steering at our cost, but not sure if that is, in fact, the issue. Seems like a costly fix to not know for sure and also a safety issue that would not be caused by wear and tear, rather by a faulty electrical problem. We drive our children around in this car and fear the safety of driving
