My car would randomly shut down while I am driving leaving me with no power steering. I took it to my mechanic who discovered it was a faulty ignition switch module and recommended I take it to a dealership. If I touch the key fob on my car or hit a bump while it is running, the car will shut down. No power steering. There are multiple recalls for faulty ignition switch modules but not on my particular vehicle (recall L25 is one of many I have discovered). I have been carefully driving the vehicle because I don't have $1500 to repair. Dealership will fix it at my expense because there is no recall on my particular vehicle.
I reported a strange sound to my trusted mechanic, and his tech quickly affirmed that the fuel pump was still operating even with the vehicle turned off and keys removed from the ignition. They told me without skipping a beat that this was a tipm malfunction. They were confident that this was a common problem and that certainly there would be a recall through the dealer. However, there has not been a recall issued for this problem on this make, model, or year of this vehicle. I have read around the web, and it does indeed sound like a common problem Chrysler town and country minivans made between 2011 and 2013 (mine's a '12). It seems to be happening to a lot of people who, in good faith, trusted the Chrysler brand. It also seems like this problem carries with it very significant risk of d

Replaced alternator two times within a year and now need a third. Started june 2018 while away on a trip, all lights on dashboard light up with no warning signs. Everything failed., brakes barely worked to stop, no power steering, windows would not go up/down, no air, no flashes....etc. The second time july 2019, battery light comes on, then goes off. A day later had the battery replaced. Although the battery tested well according to the company, they placement due being under warranty. The following week, again the battery light comes on during highway speed and car begins the same issues as before. Car was towed to dealership. Dealership states it's the alternator once again. Here we are december 2019 with the same issues....not to mention the passenger airbag light never goes off as th

We recently purchased our second town and country after having really liking our first van. We really liked the idea of having the blind spot detection system. A year or so into owning the van we started getting a warning about the blind spot system not being available and said that it needed service. It started happening when the snow started flying here in michigan. Now as soon as you start the vehicle it states it is not available and leaves the triangles lit in the mirrors with an occasional beeping sound. From other posts and research I have read this seems to be a common issue with water getting into these sensors and shorting them out. Why these sensors weren't made more weather proof is beyond me. Since this is an add on to make driving safer I think Chrysler should step up, be h
The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The driver was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.
Dealer identified as failed fuel pump relay integrated in total integrated power module (tipm) which is the problem recalled in r09/NHTSA 15v-115 the 2012/2013 durango and grand cherokee series and made by same manufacturer. This can cause vehicle to stall while driving or have a non start situation as power is not properly delivered to the fuel pump due to relay failure. This failure occurred in the 2012 town & country model which is not covered under the recall for the same year.

After receiving multiple check engine notifications for "engine misfire", the dealership determined that all the lifters needed to be replaced. We had the work done, and 1 year later the same codes have returned.

Fuel Relay System Failure When searching online apparently this is such an extremely common issue there is a special bypass part that was made, and part of a recall for durangos and jeeps but not the town and country, even though this part is failing all the time in this vehicle as well. Before it went completely dead, it did fail once when I was driving, which is a huge safety issue. I was lucky it started again and that I wasn’t going very fast. I didn’t know at the time that is was the fuel relay system failing until it finally stopped working and my car no longer started. Once bypassed with the bypass part it started immediately, however I had to buy the bypass part to confirm. This should be a recalled issue though, since it is an extremely hazardous issue if it causes failures w
The vehicle does not consistently start and has a chance of failure when in operation. I have the vehicle in a shop and it has been diagnosed as a fuel pump relay that is not consistently receiving power. This has been a well known issue within the tipm system but no recalls are open on this specific vehicle.

The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,901.
The air bag light stays on all the time when being driven. The Chrysler parts person says the problem is a defective clock-spring which renders the air bag inoperable. With a former town & country I owned they replaced the clock-spring as a safety recall even after 80k mi. Now though they tell me the defective clock- spring is not their problem but mine even though the air bag will not function because of it. The car currently has 60k mi. On it but the problem began way before this.

The brake lights on the drivers side failed. These lights are LED lights and meant to last the life of the vehicle. They cannot be changed like a standard brake light. This is a safety hazard when stopping or driving at night. *tr
