Car makes a grinding noise at low speed acceleration. *tr
The "affected part" is the transmission. The "incident" that occurred is a recurring problem with the power shift transmission. When the car's automatic transmission is in "drive" or "reverse", and the driver takes his foot off the brake or accelerator, the car acts as though it is in neutral for about 1 second. If the car is on a hill, the car will roll downhill during that brief period when the brake/accelerator is not applied. Although this has not caused an accident driving the car yet, I am very concerned about the potential safety hazards this could cause. If the car is stopped on a hill and the driver lets off the brake/accelerator, despite any action of the driver, the car may roll downhill and hit a car behind it. Additionally, parallel parking is very difficult because the
Car won’t go in reverse. Transmission buckles and shifts violently at times.
When I purchased the car it has a really bad hesitation whenever it switched gears. I took it back the very next day and it was supposedly fixed. However when I got the car back I was told that the shutter would never go away because that's how the car was supposed to function. Lately this is the third time I have had to take the car back since feb 2016. This last time I was leaving from my driveway onto the main road. When I switched gears from reverse to drive and press the gas the car would not accelerate. There were cars behind me who had to slam on brakes when they realize I was not moving anymore. I could've been hit and injured really badly. While eventually the vehicle did pick up it has happened several times. The lag in the car when you hit the gas, the horrible jerk, the shutter
Car has had transmission problems delay in shifts and jerky loud grinding noises. Have had 3 clutch repaires to solve and now to my forth. I've had three close calls as the car failed to accelerate acting almost if the brake was applied when entering trafic. These have been spaced over my ownership since 10/2011. The dealer and the tech tells me this is a design defect and that Ford will no longer offer this transmission design. This is a truly unsafe car when the clutch fails. The car was purchased new and had been reprogrammed 6 times and now will have its 4th new clutch installed and it only has 58,800 miles.
Transmission failed when driving on city streets. The car started to make a grinding/rattling noise then started slipping out of gear.
Transmission/shift vibrates and shakes when it shifts and on occasion dies at stops. Hesitates sometimes when accelerating from stop. Taken to dealer multiple time, they apply software updates and deny anything is wrong. Dealer and Ford motors say it is within guidelines and refuse to do anything further.. *tr
TCM transmission module recalled my Ford store in fort walton beach said they would not replace TCM under recall I would have to pay out of pocket
High pitch noise/squeelwhen clutch is used from a cold start for the first few miles. This will be the second replacment in two months. *tr
While driving the engine will accelerate wildly, appearing to be in neutral. Car will then pop into gear. Took it in and they said it was a transmission module. They fixed it and less than a month later same thing happens. Took it back, it was same transmission module. Service tech at Ford said to get rid of it as it is going to continue to happen
Ford has a problem with CVT transmission. The seals leak. They give lip service to repairs. I went many times to lafayette Ford. They replaced the transmission seal. The transmission still slips. Now they say it is the clutches. Ford has the part, on back order. I have asked, for a new transmission. The Ford area manager said no. The think there needs to be a recall of the CVT, on 2012-2014 focuses and fiesta. *tr

The low beam lights work intermittently. They shut off while driving. This causes an unsafe condition for the driver, passengers, pedestrians and oncoming vehicles. This happens both while the vehicle is stationary and in motion. It happens in all weather conditions and temperatures. It occurs both during city driving conditions and highway driving conditions. There seems to be a short between the headlight, the vehicle fuse box and the headlight on and off switch. The high beam system is not affected by this problem. Lights have been changed and fuses have been changed.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while attempting to activate the headlights, the headlights failed to respond. The contact stated that several attempts were needed for the headlights to become operable. However, the failure reoccurred, and the low-beam headlights failed to function as needed. The contact checked the high-beam headlights and the high-beam headlights functioned properly. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program Number: 19B22 - Corrosion due to road salts in the Battery Junction Box (Electrical Sys

The door latch on my front passenger side broke, and will no longer latch. This is the second latch on my car to break in this manner. *tr
The drivers side door latch will not latch, the door will swing open because the latch is defective. I have seen that this is a common issue with this vehicle and has been recalled on other 2012 ford fiestas but mine has not been.

My throttle body stuck open. The fusion and the escape has an extended warranty required by you but you did not include the fiesta. Same issue. Sitting at a stoplight and my car revs between 2,000 and 3,000 rpms. It went above 3,000 rpms a couple of times. I luckily had my own extended warranty so it only cost me $100.00 to fix it but the fiesta (and probably any Ford made in those years) should be covered. It was super scary. Luckily my engine is a manual transmission so I was able to put it into neutral and not get into any car accident. (an automatic transmission would have a big problem). *js

Several recalls for different parts have been issued since the purchase of this car. The transmission does not engage all the time causing the car to jerk and move forward quickly without notice and cause damage to the car. Go up hills the transmission has cut out before and then shot forward as previously described. Door latches can and will come open allowing for the door to open while the car is in motion. This vehicle is not safe and now I am stuck with it. *js
lighting 1 complaint shown
The low beams have stopped working. I now cannot drive after dark and if I have an emergency with one of my three kids I will not be able to take them anywhere. High beam and parking lights work. Replaced headlight bulbs and still won't work. There was a recall in canada but not the usa. It's been months and can not afford to have the fuse box replaced. Radio has also stopped working for the past 3 weeks
