While driving at almost any speed, as long as it is in a fairly straight line, the steering has a catch in it when you try to ease the car to the right or the left. It feels like it is stuck in a rut and you have to turn harder than expected to break it out of that rut. This causes instances of oversteering. This can't be safe at all!!

My 2012 Hyundai sonata steering is not working properly, it is pulling to the left and requires constant corrections. It is very unsafe at highway speeds and does not want to stay in its lane. It has been in the shop twice in the last 2 months, once for an alignment and once for changing the setting for the electric steering. I informed Hyundai of america about my problem and was told the car should be working as it should and that is all they can do. *tr
When the steering wheel is turned either left or right there is a loud clicking noise regardless of when the car is stopped or driving. This is a common issue from everything I've read from people and even the dealership knew exactly what it was. This should be a recall due to safety reasons. If this part goes out there is a chance someone could lose control of their vehicle. *tr
Bought car as new with 6172 miles, car has consistent pull to right, when trying to make correction, car starts to pull harder. Drove car on snowy roads and was unable to keep car in lane at a safe driving speed with traffic, causing me to slow and became a hazard on roadway. Have taken to 2 different dealerships 4 times being told "that this a normal condition and there is nothing wrong". Have taken to third party repair shop, who has documented a pulling problem, but unable to repair due to what they diagnose as a computer power assist problem. Drive car only on dry roads and not being used for daily use due to this unsafe and dangerous steering condition. *tr
The power steering has failed to work on multiple occasions and I’m worried that it may happen during a tight manuver and possibly cause a wreck. This is very dangerous. When this power steering stops working it is way harder to turn than a car with no power at all.
The steering clicks when I back the car up and turn the wheel in either direction. This is how the problem started. Now, over a two-month period, it makes the same sound when moving forward slowly and turning the wheel in either direction. *tr
Vehicle has been to dealership 5 times for steering issue. Car pulls to right no matter road conditions, type of road, or speed of vehicle. Car showed excessive tire wear around 3500 miles. In total car has been aligned five times, four new tires put on car, new struts and mounts, and new shocks. Had independent mechanic drive vehicle after vehicle "repaired" fifth time and he said there is something definitely wrong with the vehicle's steering. Went to the dealership today to inform them that their last attempt to repair the vehicle failed. They basically blew my husband off and told him the car is fixed. However, car is still pulling to the right and he is experiencing arm fatigue from the pulling of the steering wheel. *tr
Noticed knocking sound coming from behind the steering wheel when turning the wheel left/right from center position. The power steering seems to be working fine and able to turn the vehicle while driving. Several forums and online posted videos describe the flexible rubber coupling in the mdps (motor driven power steering) assembly getting worn out which causes the gear tooth to have a metal-on-metal contact. Check this video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7k17liy6b0) and other related video describing the issue and fix.

Vehicle doesn’t stop hard pedal and brake light came on 144k
In October of 2023, I was driving my 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid to the laundry mat about a quarter of a mile from my home. I stopped at a stop light and all of a sudden, a warning sound burst from my dasher board. The message stated, "Hybrid Warning-DO NOT DRIVE: CHECK BRAKES". The brakes completely stopped working, the pedal was to the floor and the accelerator was stalling. After managing to get the vehicle back to my home, naturally I went to the Dealership (Langdale Hyundai of Valdosta) and informed them of the issue. They informed me there was no issue, charged me for a diagnostic and sent me on my way. Once I provided proof of my car stopping mid-drive, they began to check wiring and such. What they told me the issue was is a Hydraulic Power Unit. I had it replaced, still the same is
When I was braking, the passenger front brakes made a horrible metal on metal sound. I had a mechanic look at the brakes (to far from a Hyundai dealer). The mechanic could not find any problems. This. Has gone on for months. I had the brake pads replaced even though the original pads were still good. I finally took my car to the Hyundai dealer who explained to me (the rotors were extremely rusted and needed to be replaced) what, this sounds like a manufacturing issue. No, I had all rotors replaced and new brake pads all the way around. Guess what, still making the sound in the front passenger side. *tr

My tail and brake lights sometimes work sometimes doesn't. Rear window brake light stays illuminated when car is turned off causing battery to drain. This problem has been on going for years. I can sometimes wiggle bulbs and make them work for a while but problem has been persistent for too many years. Tired of replacing bulbs.

Then continued when got off exit and reduced speed then stop car warning light appears. Turned car off waited then problem went away after taking to dealership they said could not duplicate problem now it has happened again. Same issue this time was with my wife and kid on wedding day. Please help us!!!
I noticed a clicking noise when pressing and releasing the brake pedal that had not been there before. I started hearing that sound 3-5 days ago. After driving to pick up food I noticed smoke coming from the engine area then the car burst into flames. The fire depress called a they put out the fire.

I was driving on a city street when the check engine light started flashing. The car started knocking not running well. When I took it to the repair shop they stated I would have to replace the engine because it had seized. The repair shop also stated they had replaced 20 of the same model within the past 12 months. We are currently working with the extended warranty company to see if they will cover it. We have maintained the engine with regular oil changes
