December 29th at 3:00 a.m my wife and I was going to the atm in granger tx. As I approached a sharp curve I went to apply the brake to slow down and the car speeded up hit the culvert and went airborne. We came down on a boulder and somehow we managed to drive back to my brother in laws. The airbags did not go off. I have severe whiplash, I cracked my l1 and injured my side and back. My wife's head hit the side window so hard she had a concussion knots and bruises on her head. She has bruises on her right shoulder, hit her knee and leg. If we had not been wearing seat belts we would have died. If our airbags had worked we would not have been hurt as bad as we are. My wife's glasses are bent and my watch is broke. I am sending pictures to prove the airbags did not work. Not sur what the

On 1/8/13 I was going down highway at 60 MPH and I noticed passenger side air bag off light was on ,with an adult in passenger seat. I took to dealer and they said it checked ok. On 12/23/13 I was on highway at 60 MPH and I noticed passenger side air bag off light was on ,with an adult in passenger seat once again I took it to the dealer, and they said it checked ok. I am concerned that I could be involved in a crash and the passenger ( my wife age 75 ) could be seriously injured or killed because the passenger air bag didn't function as it was designed too. *tr
I hit a curb while I was turning and I my air bag light and seatbelt light turned on. My passenger air bag won’t turn back to on even when someone is sitting in and my seatbelt light won’t turn off. Nothing was deployed when I hit the curb just the lights turning on.
Purchased a 2012 camry from wilson motors in bellingham, washington. Received a recall notice that due to the possibility that air conditioning water could leak into the air bag control we needed to have a repair done. Recall indicated that airbag could deploy inadvertently and cause injury or a car crash. Wilson motors could not give us an appointment for one month because Toyota motors usa will only allow them to fix one car per day. This is a serious issue that could cause injury or even death. It should be fixed as soon as possible, not at a rate that satisfies Toyota motors usa. *tr

I bought this car used from a dealership. within 4 days and less than 40 driving miles on the first cold morning (42°f) the 6 speed automatic transmission slipped. the engine revved as i was backing out of my carport then in less than 50 yards i went to pull up on the street. again the engine revved and car was barely moving. it did catch as i cleared that intersection and behaved normally till the next cold early morning. i have spoken to used car salesman and the sales manager. i have an appointment to take it in for evaluation soon!
I got the shudder from the description online that affects the transmission upon accelerating. . It's from a ecm software recall? When placing the transmission in park, it rolls forward some. I have had this car for a couple yrs. Put only 30, 000 on it. it just reached 100,000. Bought it at 69, 000 miles. Will be taking the car in the Toyota shop friday. When I purchased the vehicle; there was no recalls as stated!
I have 2012 Toyota camry that has a vibration issues while driving. This seems like a the vehicle is about to fall off the road. I search it online and it seems like almost everyone that has a 2012 to 2014 camry has the same issues. Please help.
I took delivery of this 2012 Camry SE on Friday 12-17-21. I have about 75 miles on it since purchase. It was cold here this morning (12-21-21) as I pulled out of my driveway at 9 am. I went up to the street to make a left turn. As I entered the intersection- the transmission slipped- the engine revved to about 3000 RPM and the car was barely moving. I drove the car about 5 miles and 15 minutes to get my first gas fill-up. The problem did go away with the warming of the transmission. I've been driving long enough to recognize what this is, a problem with the 6 speed automatic transmission. This problem did not show when I test drove the car on 12/16/21. The salesman made no mention of it. I know I bought the car 'As-Is' . I feel this is a safety problem that should be remedied sooner than

While driving on any road between 20 and 40 MPH, 3rd and 4th speed, the transmission shudders and while pressing the gas, the vehicle hesitates. Sometimes it is somewhat clear to accelerate, other times it feels like you are fighting a wall that will not move. I believe from what I have read that it has to do with the ECU and a possible faulty torque converter. This should be looked into by the NHTSA proactively, and not left to the individual consumer to see if the issue resolves itself. If the car fails in moving traffic, someone could hit me from behind. At this time, I am having to go from 2nd speed to 4th speed by 40 MPH to go around 3rd gear altogether. This is not the way the car should operate. Vehicle is in motion when this happens on any road at any time.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 Toyota camry. While driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle began to shake and hesitate. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred for at least three years. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and they determined that the transmission failed and needed replacement. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 98,585.
Ever since I purchased vehicle back May 2016 with 24K miles on it (currently has 107k miles on it) the car has been vibrating between 35mph - 45mph. I took it to the dealer over 3 times within 30 days of purchase and they couldn’t figure it and replaced tires. They said it vibrates because roads are uneven. Didn’t feel like dealing with dealership and left it at that. Last year in 2021 I decided to research it and found out it’s a known issue (Torque converter) needs to be replaced. Toyota would always email me but for the “ warranty repair” they sent it to my old address. I took it to a Toyota dealer to have it inspected now say that if I want it repaired, I have to pay $2500. I even reached out to corporate July 2021 to see if they would ear 50% of costs and declined. Toyota NEEDS to tak

Takata recall. Vehicle was stationary, car would not start, received some electrical codes when went to local shop (merchant auto and tire, md). Car was parked and next time, when trying to start did not start. Battery is good. I had passenger side seat airbag recall fixed about 6 months back (early part of 2017)
Rodents have discovered the soy compound used to insulate the wires. My daughter has had to replace wiring twice in the last month. The damage to the wiring results in engine and transmission issues including stalling. This is as dangerous as the issues affecting gm cobalts. *tr

The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the front driver’s side door handle was fractured, and she was unable to access the vehicle through the driver’s side door. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the driver’s side door handle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised the contact that the door handle was easily fractured due to the plastic-based material. The contact stated that the independent mechanic replaced the door handle; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
I have been experiencing a knock/tap/clunk sound coming from the roof in my 2012 Toyota camry se, I have reported this issue to Toyota and the car has been at the dealership over 4 times to try to resolve the issue, the noise gets louder as time passes, it seams this is a structural problem and are not informing the customers as thousands of cars are being sold, with no tsb issued, taking off the headliner multiple times has created additional noises. *tr
steering 1 complaint shown
While traveling on a parkway at 55 MPH the electrical power steering warning light came on and the power steering ceased to work resulting in extreme difficulty controlling/steering the car. After getting the car off the road I restarted it and the eps was working. I continued traveling and within 10 minutes the problem occurred again. I contacted the dealer and brought the car in to them (the eps was working at this point). The dealer contacted Toyota tech and the failure was identified and is being repaired under warranty. I searched the internet and found several cases of eps failure at slow speeds, none at highway speed. *tr

I own a 2012 4cyl camry xle. A knocking sound coming from the back of the roof on the passenger side happens when the body integrity is compromised, like when going over bumps or entering a home garage from the driveway. Brought the car to the Toyota dealer in december 2013 who refused to repair the problem because the car was out of warranty (the car had over 40,000 miles and the warranty coverage was up to 36,000 miles). They offered to repair the car for $486.85 usd. Although two Toyota repair centers in puerto rico (Toyota service center in san lorenzo, pr and furiel Toyota auto), both acknowledged it was a problem other customers complained about and they know of. I searched online and there are forums discussing the same problem on 2012 camry's with sunroof, so I understand it

When the seatbelt gets pushed into the buckle it does not secure nor stay latched. The vehicle was parked overnight and I went to travel and the buckle does not latch at all.
brakes 1 complaint shown
The brake of this vehicle does not give enough force to stop the car at any speed, it looks the break booster is not provide enough force to stop the car, also there is another issue during deceleration and stop from 25 or 35 MPH to complete stop, it looks while braking something give additional acceleration not braking to the vehicle, it is hard to reduce a speed on the highway at speed 60 or 65, I am sure something wrong with the design of the break of the vehicle, it is unlike other cars we owned , Chevy equinox and Dodge stratus 2005 braking are much butter and it is old they can stop at any speed but this Toyota camry 2012 is scary and I am afraid to use it in the highways driving, the dealer stated nothing wrong with the brake and I want from NHTSA to test the drive of this car and s
