I received a safety recall letter in the mail; the letter stated that there is an issue with my airbag inflators. I tried contacting a few Toyota dealerships, and they made my issue, and more importantly, my safety, seem like it was not their number one priority. They told me that they would have to order new parts but that would take two months. If they received it earlier they said they would give me a call. Several months have gone by, and I haven't received a call. My nearest dealership, bredemann Toyota @ (847) 655-1435 has not call me back for 3 months or so. I received this letter back in january, and it is nearly july. Almost half a year has gone by, and my safety has been at risk every single day. Please contact me at [xxx] or [xxx] as soon as possible. I do not want to risk my li

Was driving on the freeway at 70 MPH and had to brake for slower traffic ahead. When I depressed the brake pedal, the ABS system engaged, braking the left side of the car, then the right almost sending me off the road. After this had happened, the speedometer had started jumping to different speeds very rapidly and I was unable to tell my correct speed. The antilock brakes have continued to engage randomly when they are not needed, cause loss of braking control and the overall ability to come to a stop. The speedometer also jumps around every now and then. The ABS light was only triggered once, and then turned off.
I was driving approximately 20 MPH making a left turn when the car abruptly powered down the inside lights, outside lights, heat, etc turned off. The vehicle continued to make loud noises as if I was trying to start the car, but I had taken the key out of the ignition. I then noticed the battery warning light was on and then I smelled smoke. I was stuck in the intersection with the car stuck in park I kept pressing the brake, to shift to neutral but the car wouldn't change gears or even turn on at this point. I continued to smoke and I smelled fire so I grabbed all of my things and exited the vehicle. It was raining and a good samaritan popped the hood and the hard cold rain put out the fire. I waited until a tow truck told the car to the dealer. I was told that the battery and star

When I purchased this car in april from carmax , it was advertised as making 28 MPG in the city and 32 on the highway. I am only getting 20-21 MPG (combined, but mostly city), which is what I got with my old datsun that I just sold. This is false advertising. I called carmax and they said those numbers don't come from them, but from Toyota. So I called Toyota and they said I would have to take it to a Toyota dealer to see if something was defective. But as we all know, dealers charge ridiculous prices. I wanted to take it to my mechanic, but Toyota said that they don't recognize outside mechanics. The mileage had so much to do with my purchasing this car that this really makes me mad. When I re-checked the 2012 yaris MPG on carmax, it showed them as making 32/38 MPG (these were automatic
My passenger side seat manual track has broken. I cannot adjust it forward or backwards. There is a spring that fell off underneath. I put it back correctly just as it is supposed to go, but it did not fix the issue. The entire latching mechanism has failed. My 2007 yaris had a recall for this same issue for the driver seat. The chassis for all model year yaris' are the same. I believe the seat mechanisms we're continued to be built with a known issue. My car only has 63,000 miles and this seat is barely used.

Brakes: left side rear brake shoe adjuster bar part replacement does not fit on brake. Dealer and pep boys both tried to replace it and the parts do not match, a right side adjuster bar had to be used in its place. Repairs were attempted several times over a period of approximately 10 months from nov 2016 to sept 2017. Speed sensor: I was driving 65 MPH on the interstate in the middle lane when the speed sensor stopped working, the car acted like it was in neutral and I could not get over or continue driving it. Had to get to the side of the road, very dangerous situation. Speed sensor replaced and problem was fixed. This problem happened in august 2015, mileage was approximately 75, 000 at time.

On 7/9/2017 @ 6:45pm while driving on highway 90 the rear bumper panel on my 2012 Toyota yaris came unhinged and was flapping causing the right side to also detach. The plastic clips that hold the bumper are not holding! My car is in grate/excellent condition. It appears to be a poorly assembled and/or designe defect made by the manufacture since I was drive the highway speed limit. I am on vacation headed to south dakota from california and this puts myself, passenger, and other drivers on the highway in danger if it completely detaches!
visibility 1 complaint shown
Major windshield glare. Not sure if it's the angle of the windshield, the brushed-plastic type dash that seems highly reflective, or a combination of the two... But when sunlight hits the dashboard, it creates a glare on the windshield. Depending on the angle of the sun, it can become extremely difficult to see through and poses a high risk at anything in a shaded area (like driving from sunny road through shaded patch). The glare is noticeable in low light and at night when passing street lamps/traffic lights. On a scale of 1-10... The night/low light visibility is around 1 or 2 but when you have the sun glaring on it, it's more of a 8-9. Temporary solution would most likely be a dash mat but maybe re-design or different material used would be better suggestion for the manufacturer. *tr
