Takata recall I am writing to complain about the timeliness of this recall on my car. I was informed of this recall at the beginning of february of this year. It has been over 10 months I haven't heard anything back about the status of when this recall is going to be fixed on my car. Every day I am driving the car wondering if I am safe or not with the airbag in my car if an accident would occur. People have been hurt because of this, people have been killed because of this. I am disappointed at BMW's as well as the governments response to this recall. Please get this recall fulfilled so I can feel safe driving my car. *tr

Even though a recall is on the car, my BMW dealership will not fix this.
"takata recall" I have called two dealerships to have my airbag replace and my airbag light is also on and they say the part would have to be ordered and it would be 2 weeks (united BMW gwinnett) and I asked to speak to the manager and I left a message and it has been a week with no response. This a dangerous car at this point to drive but BMW does not seem to be taking serious ly. I then called nalley BMW and the said it would take two weeks to get the part in. I am scared for my life if this airbag deploys and my grandchildren are in the car. How can we expidite this service to get my car fixed or do they want to pay for me to get a rental, or do they want to take the risk of the airbag hurting me or my grandchildren?

Front passenger air bag seat occupancy sensor (OC3) mat warning "Passenger restraint system. Fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag" BMW has an extended warranty for this exact issue on several other models, but not the 1 series which should be included. This is a huge safety issue and shouldn't be the customer's responsibility.
BMW is stalling unnecessarily and will not fix my recalled airbag(s).

Driver's side door lock/latch (actuator) occasionally will not unlock using normal physical force, only unlocks with electrical assistance from unlock button on dashboard or key fob. Could be dangerous in an accident where battery power is cut off (by design) - the occupant is unable to egress and remains trapped inside vehicle. Others have experienced similar problems with these lock actuators on other doors and on other models (per forum discussions). BMW will not cover cost of repair if outside of warranty. BMW part number 51217202143 (system latch)
