2013 Chevrolet Cruze owner complaints

The vehicle keeps going to A/C off due to vehicle running hot. I've gone to the dealer and various shops had the water pump, hoses, outlet housing, thermostat replaced. I still smell coolant leaking and burning off when I open the hood I see the engine and catalytic converter wet and drying off as the wetness evaporates; the smell stays inside the car. The effects of smelling coolant has to be toxic, has any studies been done on long term effects of smelling coolant? I spend a minimum of 3 hours a day in traffic. The problem started around 100k. I also have oil leaking on right axel and somewhere on the engine. I've noticed the1.4l turbo has the same problems why are there recalls on the 1.4L but not the 1.8L? I'm paying out of pocket to get the same repairs done, if the vehicle is unsafe

My vehicle was not filed in the recall list but has the same issue as a drive train recall (13v452000). My vehicle when shifting gears completely lost power and no longer goes into 5th or 6th gear. I have taken it to the dealership like gm asked me but unfortunately they informed me that my clutch was not covered. To me this is a big safety issues that could have resulted in my family and I being seriously injured if I was in a different situation. I would like to see my vehicle be fixed like all the other vehicles that was recalled with this same issues, I don't see why if the issues isn't different why my vehicle should be excluded. *js

At random car will idle up and down and rpms will jump. This happens when just cranked and after driven and sitting still in idle. Also, at random when trying to crank the car it seems to get stuck and I will have to return the ignition in order to get the motor to fully turn over.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet cruze. After inserting the key in the ignition switch, the vehicle turned on independently. The contact mentioned that the transmission shifted independently from drive into neutral on multiple occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Car is having turbo problems. Nothing wrong with the car, but it shows a turbo underboost defect. Says online it is common amongst Chevy cruzes

The defrost doesn't work on the drivers side. When I turn the settings to defrost, the face vents turn on full power. Ive tried all of the different settings (face, feet, face and feet, defrost and feet, etc) and the defrost wont work on any of them. This causes my window to fog up and ice over on the drivers side. While im driving! Its not only annoying , it's extremely dangerous and unsafe when drivig during the winter months. There is nothing in the vents. I checked. I tried to take pictures to show how I have no visibility. It's alot worse in person.

The car was parked. I started it and 2 minutes later I got 3 messages "engine power is reduced" "service traction control" "service stabili trak" and the engine light came on, it wouldn't go more than 5mph. So then I parked again, thank god I didn't even leave the parking lot of that building. So then I turned it off and let it rest for about 10 minutes and then started it back on and the messages disappeared and it was running "fine" the gas pedal felt a little hard when trying to accelerate. Next day same thing but this time while I was on the high way, I use I-88 to go to work every day and this is very dangerous, going from 65-70 MPH to 10 MPH and if someone would've been behind me they could've hit me. This is very scary and sometimes I work late shifts and with this cold weather

Starting smelling a very strong smell everytime I would turn on the heater and air. Had this smell one time before and cost me right at $700.00 dollars to fix. Now this is going to cost me right at $1500.00 dollars to fix. The smell is making me sick to my stomach. Can't beleive this is happening.

The computer system goes on and off at random, which causes malfunctions in other areas, particularly the power steering and security system. My power steering has gone out multiples times, causing near accidents. The security system also locked up due to the computer, and it took 15 minutes to get it started in the arizona heat. The power steering issue is incredibly dangerous.

At highway speeds >55 the steering wheel give resistance when turning the wheel to the right to make minor lane corrections. When you get past the resistance the steering over corrects which causes you to swerve. *tr

2013 Chevy cruze at highway speeds seems to have the steering lock or become "sticky". Problem is most noticeable at speeds above 50 MPH. It becomes difficult to make minor changes in direction when trying to keep the car in the lane of traffic. The "lock up" seems to be worse when correcting to the left compared to correcting to the right. This becomes a real concern when driving on icy or snow packed roads as I fear a loss of control when overcorrection due to the "sticky" steering. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet cruz. The contact was driving approximately 25 MPH when a second vehicle crashed into the driver's side of the vehicle. The contact stated that the air bags did not deploy. The contact suffered injuries to the head, back, neck, left groin and left shoulder. Additionally, the contact sustained blurred vision and numbness in the left arm. The passenger suffered injuries to the head, back, neck, right shoulder, numbness to the right arm and blurred vision. Both the contact and the passenger were transported to the hospital via ambulance. A police report was not filed of the incident. The vehicle was diagnosed at the dealer but no information was available. The manufacturer was notified and no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 6000.

Just a short time after I bought this car, which I love, I hit a deer. I was going 45 MPH at the time and the impact did $10,000 damage but the air bag did not go off. Thankfully I was not hurt and I was wearing my seat belt. To this day the car just isn't the same. *tr

The road was icy and I slammed into back of dump truck that already crashed into fence of cemetery,and my air bags never deployed (I couldv'e been seriously hurt) but I wasn't. *tr

The car has some kind of electrical problems. The check engine light goes on and I take the car back to the dealer and get problems fixed, and within a month the check engine light comes on again, and there are new problems with the car. When those problems get fixed, the check engine light comes on again within a month. This is a cycle that keeps going. The check engine light comes on at different times, usually while driving. I believe the electrical system is causing cascading failures in different systems.

While driving the light came one engine overheating a/c shut off. There was a leak of coolant. I was stranded on the side of the road. We had it brought to a mechanic. They repaired the problem. Within 3 days it started again, the mechanic thought it was a faulty part so replaced it. After a week it happened again. We had it repaired again. Now 2 months later it is happening again. Once again stranded on the side of the road This has happened 4 times in 2 months and looks to be a very common issue with a simple search online. Multiple parts replaced and still stranded9

Traveling west and an east bound vehicle turned in front of me. The other driver was ticket for failure to yield and accident causing bodily injury. My air bags did not deploy I sustained injuries to my chest, hit my head on drivers side window and my left should and ribs were thrown in to the door. *tr
