2013 Chevrolet Malibu owner complaints

Multiple times while since I've had it it has reduced engine power ( stabiltrak) on me while driving. Just recently check engine light came on with codes reading for camshaft actuators failing and PCM failing. The car chugs will driving and has even died while operating.

The gauge cluster in my car has intermittently lost power for about two years. It is now almost always off. I have been unable to have this repaired as the parts have been unavailable nationwide since I initially started having problems. I can't see any of my gauges. I have no idea how much gas I have, if my car is overheating, or if my car is having any other sort of problem.

Used switch to roll down passenger window, touch screen went black, came back on maybe after 30 sec or so. While driving touch screen occ black out, all electronic go out , no turn signal, no digital speed, power steering. After fueling went to start car, it wouldn't start, no lights no power at all, did this three times in one day. I hadn't had car thirty days. *tr

The dash keeps going out. Not letting you see your speed nor gas available in tank, etc.

Tl* the contact owns 2013 Chevrolet malibu. While parked, the contact attempted to start vehicle but the vehicle would not start. The contact attempted to charge the battery however, the vehicle would not fully charge. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure. The contact was informed that the battery charging system needed to be replaced. The contact then drove the vehicle to tropical Chevrolet (8880 biscayne blvd, miami shores, fl 33138) who stated the failure was an engine failure and not a failure to the battery charging system. The battery was replaced however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of failure. The failure mileage was 103,000.

I have a 2013 Chevrolet malibu eco and when I stopped at a red light the car just shut down. Thought it might have been bad gas at first because the car started right up. Well not even 15 minutes later it did it again. The car started right back up like it did before and didnt have no more issues out of it. The next day had to do some running around the car did fine until the way home. The car cut off on me three different times.only does it when I come to a stop no matter where I'm at. Somedays the car does better then others just hope it don't cut off on me when I'm driving down the road.

2013 Chevrolet malibu. Lawyer on behlaf of consumer. The consumer experienced four separate incidents which put the vehicle out of serivce for repair for over 30 days. Would like car replaced or bought back. *ta six months after the vehicle was purchased, the consumer started experiencing serious problems with its functionality. The vehicle would not start or would shut off whiel being driven and would not re-start. The dealer was unable to correct the problem. *jb

When driving the power steering quits working and you can't steer the car. You never know when it will happen, does it without warning. Almost impossible to turn the vehicle. Electric power steering and I have found hundreds of complaints online from other owners but this VIN doesn't have the recall

Several times now the car radio and electrical has just shut off . Shortly there after --- the steering locked up while driving. Such that there was an inability to maintain control, and the steering wheel was unable to be moved at all. This happened multiple times. This vehicle was purchased for my daughter and my grandchildren. Thus safety is a major concern. If indeed my daughter were to have been in a busy intersection when this happened today, she or my grandchildren could have easily been killed. Chevrolet dealer refuse to do anything without a recall and have said that the diagnostic would be $100.00 to perform. While the vehicle is in motion the radio screen would flash off and on followed by lose of power steering the car was parked and towed to a local dealership to be inspected

Driving slow and when making turns the car starts to shut off if not given gas. The car has no shutoff multiple times when trying to make a slow turn. This last time I had to restart the car then the power sterring was out completly making it near impossible to turn.

In about september my steering started sticking at freeway speeds since then it is getting worse have not taken it to the dealer yet, I plan to do so a little worried with reading what issues other owners have had with the dealership. I feel this is a huge safety hazard and Chevrolet needs to look into what is causing this problem before there are several fatalities! *tr

Battery voltage indicator came on first and engine light indicator on. Replaced battery and alternator. Car stalls when gas pedal not applied. Car turns completely off when braking to stop signs, red lights, slowing down to turn. It's completely unsafe. It has turned off on me crossing major highways. Mechanic replaced fuel pump due to p0300 code etc. Car still stalls and turns off while driving, slowing down to stop, turns off at red lights, stop signs and when braking to turn. At times, I do smell as if something is burning. This smell does not happen all the time. I have replaced the battery, the alternator, and the fuel pump. The car still stalls and cuts off. I bought the car in august 2018, I have had these problems with the car since october 2018.

When I first got the car it was less than 4 months of owing it 38,000 mile, and I had issues. When I would come to a stop and the auto stop/start would kick in my car would die. And at one time it smelt like a burning rubber. The initial time the car died and would not start. Called dealership mathews Buick in marion indiana, had it towed but they could find what was wrong with it. Well it happened again not a few months later this time by the time I got to my home the serpentine belt busted from where the "auto stop/start feature" locked up and broke it in half. So few hundred dollars later "they said they fixed it" but I have had problems with it since then. Now my engine leaks dont know why, and my car wont even start. I could not even tell you what they fixed, but it cost me. I

Lose all power going down the road doesn't matter speed and lose all control of steering, brakes. While at red light car will die or try to give itself acceleration. Changed all sensors and other codes given. Shows engine reduced power or engine overload

While driving home, I received a warning to service my battery charging system. Eventually, the battery saver was activated. I lost my power steering eventually and my car stopped running. I could jump the car to start but my car would die when put in gear. My vehicle has 51,000 miles and yet the drive belt broke. While repairing it, the technician discovered that the drive belt tensioner pulley was bad and needed replaced. My vehicle is not old enough nor with enough miles to warrant this part going bad. I had to pay a $700 repair bill because it is outside of the warranty. *js

When switching on window defrost I noticed the heat was not being diverted in the right direction. I then pressed the control switch to feet/window to see if this function worked. It did not.

The reluctor ring which sends the signal to the abs and stability control system has delaminated from the wheel bearing to which it is attached. First it happened on the right rear wheel and necessitated replacement of the wheel bearing because the abs system is non functional. Now it has happened in the right front wheel. The abs and stability control are non functioning until I replace the front wheel bearing. The wheel bearing is fine, it’s the magnetic reluctor ring which has failed and no longer sends a signal to the abs sensor. This shouldn’t be happening on a 9 year old car. It is a very common problem and a danger on our roads as many people will drive it like this due to lack of funds.

I was driving my 2013 Chevy, malibu with 46,901 miles at 80mph on the interstate when my car started loosing power and became uneasy to drive. The engine service light, stability track light, and engine power is reduced was illuminated on the dashboard. Prior to this incidence, my engine and stability track lighting would come on at random making the car difficulty to drive. I would take the car back to the Chevrolet dealership only to be told that the tech could not replicate/duplicate the engine light/stability track coming. The dealership had me to purchase a new battery and change spark plugs, but engine light/stability track continued to come on at random. Dealership advised that they could not fix anything that could not be replicated/duplicated. *tr
