When I hit the brake hard or brake over a bumpy road the brake pedal goes to the floor and squeaking noise can be heard. I took the car to the Ford dealership for testing and repair and they said the problem is so common that the part is not available and on back order. While the car eventually stops, it is a hazard because if it fails you have to avoid rear ending a car in front of you that is stopped. This sometimes results in swerving off the road to avoid hitting that person. This is a manufacturer flaw.

When driving at normal speed (30MPH) break pedal is very soft and goes to floor before stopping the car. Same problem occurred in August 2021. Hampton Ford dealer replaced the booster system which solved the problem temporarily. Problem returned on 12/27/21. Very dangerous. The ABS light has not come on. Dealer has no appointments until 1/18/22.
Ford edge 2013 every couple of months you will find the brake reach to the floor suddenly. I visited the agency some times they saying master cilinder and some times hydraulic control unit and both are very expensive because most of this cars model always change it. You have to put in your mind every time you will use the brakes that you will not fid the brakes pedal.

The contact stated that while attempting to stop the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal extended to the floor, extending the braking distance. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brake booster was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer Ford square of mt. Vernon located at 1501 broadway st, mt vernon, il 62864 and the manufacturer were notified of the failure but, no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 80,000.
Brake booster/diaphragm issue, known issue in other edge models. Hissing noise when applying the brakes, spongy brake feel turning to excessive foot pressure needed to stop the car and, after stopping, brake pedal can be pushed to the floor. This issue first occurred during city driving and progressively got worse.
At approximately 46,000 miles, my 2013 Ford edge's brakes failed. I was on the interstate behind a semi truck when they hit the brakes. Brakes were locked, hard to press and the vehicle did not slow down. Thankfully there was no one on the following lane and I was able to avoid an accident. I decelerated and within a couple of seconds brakes became responsive again. I needed to make it home, drove trying to go as slow as possible and staying away from other cars, however brakes worked without issues. Approaching home there was a stop sign and again I was lucky enough to avoid an accident when the brakes locked and the car did not stop. This time a loud whistling noise filled the cabin. Driver door says Ajar even when shut, inside lights stay on. Fuel indicator says Ajar stays on. Backup camera shows upside down
Door sensor reflects door open 3rd or 4th time this has happened. Doors will not lock and dome light remains on.
Both front left and rear left door sensors show that the doors are open although its fully closed. Therefore the cabin lights stay on and the doors cannot be locked. My 2.5 year old daughter opened the door while I was driving although the doors were supposed to locked. *tr
Door ajar warning light will not go off when drivers door is completely shut. This causes dome lights to stay on until car is moving causing a visibility problem. Doors will not lock even when locked manually doors will unlock by itself while car is in motion causing a child in back seat to open a door while the car is moving and possibly falling from car.
Driver side door says it's not closed and lights stays on in dash saying door is ajar, bell rings and interior lights won't go off, after several times of slamming the light goes out. It's something to do with the lock sensor, but Ford has not recalled it. I tried spraying wd- 40 in lock area really didn't help it . Was told it would cost 300.00-500.00 to repair. Drivers door ajar alarm and warning light occurs when the door is actually closed. The doors will not lock automatically. When you hit the switch to lock the doors they lock and then immediately unlock. Dome lights stay on which makes driving at night unsafe. This occurs after starting the car in park and continues while driving.
Driver door is always ajar on the dash panel. This causes the doors not to lock when inside the car and is very annoying when it dings/rings everytime you take your foot off the brake. I believe it is the sensor and I am not willing to pay $150.00 at the dealership just to find out what it is and then pay to have it fixed. The car is not that old and should be fixed for free. While researching on the internet, this is a common problem with my make and model of car. Very disappointing. *js
Driver's side door ajar when the door is positively shut. Numerous attempts to shut the door fail to turn off interior lamps and light on instrument panel. This creates a dangerous situation since I can not depict the difference between a faulty switch or my child actually opening one of the vehicle doors. From the numerous complaints on this issue I am appalled at the lack of response from Ford and the ntsb. Do children have to lose their lives before a recall is initiated? Shame on you! *js
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Ford edge. When the doors were closed, the dome light and door ajar warning indicator remained illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the front driver's side door latch needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per the warranty, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired a second time. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The drivers door gives error upon closing indicating the door is ajar. After closing door many times the message is still there. When the door is ajar the door locks will not function meaning you are vulnerable to a car jacking because your doors won't lock. When you get out the car the same issue but the interior lights will stay on until the failsafe times them out for emergency shutoff but, the doors are still unlocked. This problem seems to become worst in the winter time. I do not experience this problem during the warm summer months.

I was driving my car without any problem. All of a sudden I go to put my car into reverse to back up my driveway and lost all power steering. I was unable to turn my car in any direction and was stuck in the middle of the street with 2 young children in my vehicle. Once I turned the car off and back on the power steering came back.

My truck displays "shift to park" when in park and the indicator is not illuminated whether the engine is off or on. I had to replace a battery due to this problem. Even though the car is off the electronics stay on drawing power because it's not sensing the vehicle is in park. This problem is widely known and Ford has a tsb for the shifter but no recall. I've had nothing but problems with this vehicle and will not purchase another Ford again.

2013 Ford edge fuel system, gasoline. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire. Leaving the residence. Once passed the control of the security agent of the residence. I accelerate the vehicle normally and then hear a rather deafening noise. I stop the vehicle immediately and process to exit the vehicle quickly as I feel the body warm. Once I get out of the vehicle and run to a safe place about 40 feet away, I throw myself on the ground and look at the vehicle and see that the vehicle is burning. I can see that the fire is consuming the vehicle and can observe fire inside the vehicle coming out of the windows and fire through the bottom of the vehicle that goes from the front of the engine down the side. And the fire runs to the gas tank.
