On 11/02/2020 my Hyundai santafe sport broke down. I was told by the mechanic at universal Hyundai that the 4th cylinder was missfiring and that gasoline was spraying internally. I have always taken care of my car and have changed oil regularly and have never had a single issue with the car. After some investigation I gound that Hyundai had two recalls ( 164 and 194) I was told by the rep at universal Hyundai that my car would need a new engine and that it would be covered under the recall. However Hyundai ended up going back on their word and said my egine would not be covered under the recall and they wouldn't pay for anything.
Many time my Hyundai engine hesitates when starting off. Only does this occasionally. My 2013 sante fe has done this hesitation several times when I do not expect it to be done. The dealer has check it and adjusted it but still hesitates, but not often.dealer indicates that there is no recall. Happens when I am starting off.

This is my daughter car and she is getting no where with Hyundai. The middle of November I was driving her car from Raleigh nc , we stopped to get gas , then I got to my house and then she drive to her house. After 20 minutes later she called and her car had stopped on the side of the road. She waited for triple a but no luck so she had to leave on the side of the road. The next day car was towed to garage. They said motor was gone. No warning no nothing. He told us about a recall 953?? Or something so we towed to Hyundai. They said she didn’t have a recall so they will not pay for her car to be fixed. We feel like Hyundai should stay behide this engine. My daughter is a hard working nurse and purchases this car used snd still owes 5,000 and they said they would give her 500.00 for the
2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited FWD bought 6/1/22. We bought the car used at 89,000 miles and drove it to 100,000 miles. On 12/19/22 this incident occurred. On the freeway, at speed, I experienced a sudden engine failure/loss. No warning lights prior to this loss and the car had no previous mechanical issues. Acceleration was lost with no warning, no light or indication that something was (going) wrong. I was able to coast to a stop on the side of the road. Once safely off the road I inspected the vehicle for damage, found none and opened the hood. I found no oil on the dipstick, Oil changed 3000 miles before, no interior dash warning about low/no oil. Luckily this was not during rush hour traffic or bumper to bumper where it could have completely died on me in a traveling lane and been a ha
I was driving down a very busy highway on 12/21/20 and my engine completely seized, no warning and incredibly terrifying. The car came to a very sudden stop, and we were very lucky that we were not killed in an accident. My car began smoking and it smelled as if it were burning, we called the fire department immediately. I was unable to start the car again, and I was also unable to switch it to neutral so that I could get out of the busy traffic. Had to call 911 and pray that I was not hit while waiting for them. I tried continuously to start my car so that I could move out of the traffic, but engine completely seized, gear would not shift to neutral, and we were stranded in a very dangerous situation. Once cops came we had to have the car towed 40 miles away and it is now sitting usele
While accelerating to merge with traffic the engine began making a rattling sound. As I let off the accelerator pedal to join the traffic flow the engine noise stopped. It came back a few more times before we made it home. The next day while descending a hill the engine quit. Since it was down hill my wife was able to coast onto a exit ramp and pull onto the shoulder. I was able to get the engine restarted and drove to the dealer. They determined there was metal debris in the oil and the engine needed replacement.

Lots of lateral play (clicking sound)in steering even when not driving.while driving steering shakes violently.
I own a Hyundai Santa Fe 2013 GLS, at about 78,000miles. There is currently a loud clicking noise that occurs when you turn the steering wheel, also steering wheel vibration when you apply the brakes. There is a play when you turn the steering, from my review and research, it is caused by a disintegrated rubble coupler in the steering motor. I called Hyundai customer support, and also when to the dealership, and I was told that it is not covered under warranty. This seems to be common problem with a number of Hyundai cars. I expect that Hyundai to announce a recall on this as its a safety issue, rather, they don't seem to care.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Hyundai sant fe. The contact stated that the steering wheel failed. The contact stated that while driving, braking, turning, or stopping, the steering wheel shook abnormally. The vehicle was taken to pinehurst Toyota (10760 us 15 501 hwy, southern pines, nc 28387, (833)267-2310) an authorized service dealer for Hyundai, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the steering coupler failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,000.
The car started to make a clicking sound coming from the steering wheel whether straight or turning. The wheel was shaking and there was some wiggle with steering. I was hours from home and did not feel safe driving the vehicle. Left it at a non-Hyundai repair shop. Was told the next day it was an issue with the plastic coupler in the steering column and Hyundai had a recall on it. Drove it home and brought it to my local dealer where we have all our repairs done. Was told there's no recall. After reading the exact same complaint by so many people on here and other online places I was shocked there was no recall for this issue. Others have stated Hyundai did recalls on some of their other vehicles for just this part/problem.
powertrain 2 complaints shown
While driving on the interstate the vehicle suddenly shuddered and immediately died, dash lights were still on but all power was cut off. Cars around me were swerving to avoid hitting me from behind as well as avoiding cars in the inside lane. Thankfully able to coast to the narrow edge of the road without a grave incident. Restarted the car with a terrible metallic screetching noise and limp along the side of the interstate to the nearest off ramp.
Motor blown rods are knocking and will seize up

ABS & brake warning lights are on. Even after replacing brakes. This is current recall but my VIN does not show up under this recall. The radio & GPS works but there is no sound coming out. I was able to reset before but not anymore.

Car wouldn't start. Everything went dead. Had car towed from ny city to dealer in nj. They checked everything and found nothing wrong. This occurred on sept 27, 2015. It happened again on dec. 27, 2015. Several people tried to jump start it to no avail. Tow truck arrived and was going to tow it from ny state to nj dealer. Tried to jump it again and it took a jump. Took it to a mechanic on dec 28, 2015 and they found battery was good and checked electrical and found no problem. My concern is it happens while driving and I lose power and have no brakes or steering or stop lights and I could be killed or someone else could be injured. Both times the vehicle was in a parking space on a city street or parking lot in a mall. Cause unknown. I have no records of the tow from ny city but it was to

The paint is peeling off, started a couple of years ago, but its getting worse and worse. I jsut read about this recall that was issued. Needed to know what can be done. The front is peeled, so i added a hood front end bra, and have peeling spots all around. I try to wash only with soft water so it will not peel as much. I added a picture of the front with the bra, but if needed i will send one without. This picture was sent to my insurance. We received a recall letter for the santa fe sports NHTSA campaign number 13v-355. We called our service office (universal Hyundai orlando). They were not very helpful. 1) the part is on back order and they have no idea when it will be available 2) when the part comes in it will take at least 4 hours to replace and we will have to leave the car with hem. 3) we live about 15 miles from the nearest Hyundai office. 4) they refused to offer a loanee car. They said we could rent a car from enterprise. If a car is recalled we would expect the part to be available and also we would not expect to be out of pocket because of the recall. *tr

While driving home from vacation, 600 miles into the drive and 200 miles from home, I hear a loud bang. I look up to find that the sunroof of my car has exploded. Nothing hit the car and no debris at the instant of the explosion fell into the car. It seemed to have exploded outward but there was no evidence of what caused the explosion. Small shards of glass from around the edge of the gaping hole began to fall into the car, though the majority of the glass had flown out because I was going 65mph. I pulled over, patched the sunroof with duct tape and trash bags and continued to drive home. I will take the car to the dealership tomorrow to get it fixed. After a quick google search, I turned up that Hyundai is recalling other cars because of this problem. My car has a panoramic sunroof, just
