CVT transmission slipping: my 2013 Nissan sentra is experiencing issues with its CVT transmission. My first experience with my CVT could have harmed me and the other passengers in my car. My car refused to accelerate while making a turn at an intersection while another vehicle was heading in the same direction. Luckily the driver noticed and slowed down preventing a collision. It took 30 seconds for my vehicle to pick up speed afterwards. I had the same problem once before while preparing to turn at a stop sign at another intersection.

Intelligent key fob intermittent start/stop of vehicle. Went to start my car after dinner and it would not start.no activity when pressing the intelligent key fob. Stranded in a parking lot ,called my spouse and then he came with a spare fob, same thing, no start.turned fob around per owners manual and car started but key warning light flashed all the way home. Read manual and made sure all caveats were not the issue. Winter weather night outside, came home and pulled car in the garage, waited an hour and tried to start car, no problem started fine. Went out next morning and car started fine after two stops, at third stop would not start again. Used procedure suggested in owners manual and car started. Drove to final destination and no key warning light flashing. Went online and found many
Transmission died after 25k miles, and now the "new" one died at 75k. It always had problems: delayed acceleration, grinding when coasting downhill, and slipping gears while accelerating. It then started stalling out when going through intersections in town from a full stop, and really started to die on christmas when we were on the highway (it became unsafe so we had to pull over and go home on back roads). The dealership now has it and claims nothing is wrong with it although it can barely drive. Nissan corporate wants us to spend hundreds or thousands on a complete "teardown" diagnosis before they will consider if they'll cover any of it. The car is only five years old, it needs its 3rd transmission, and it isn't even worth the amount it will take to diagnose and repair.
The transmission has a lot of hesitate and bad vibration while driving. Check engine light came on and it's due to small EVAP leak but have replaced cap and still stays on once awhile u smell gas fumes. *tr
The car was stalled and wouldn’t go without warning and no indication issues were present. When it stalled driver put at risk of being hit and caused multiple cars to swerve to miss the car. Thankfully able to get the car off the road and toed. Transmission completely failed.
I'm a owner of a 2013 Nissan sentra I bought 1 year ago and it has now had 5 transmission put in it. I have 2 children at the time the car became self driving RPM just kept going up without me pushing the gas the car has major problems and Nissan refuses to think it's a hazard my wife almost lost her job cause of this car it about got us killed I'm stuck under fiance company lucky with extended warranty but I don't feel safe something needs to be done shuttering jerking no power when trying to pull out on the highway this thing needs to not be sold to no one they need to be responsible and take it back and allow us to have a safer more reliable car. Consumers affairs website says enough multiple issues from all across the world.
While in heavy traffic on a bay area bridge, the car lost acceleration, started to slow down, even while I pumped the gas pedal all the way to the floor. Had it towed to dealer, they said it had to do with cooling fan. After that repair, the same problem happened several more times, always while on the highway, but I found if I kept pumping the gas pedal all the way to the floor it would eventually start to slowly accelerate. After a near-accident on the freeway due to this problem as I drove through san jose, I took the car back in and they replaced the transmission. 2 days later the heat shield fell off while I was driving. 5 days after that, while on the highway traveling at 40mph, the car again lost power, slowly decelerating, despite pumping the gas pedal to the floor. After sever
An engineer said that car had been overheating in the transmission for a long period of time. My service team did not know about it. The car failed at 89,000 miles and a month before I owned it 3 years. The engineer said that every 50000 miles the 2013 sentra needs a $4000 plus new transmission. I turned the car on after parking and while turning the car everything seemed fine. I put my foot on the gas and the car would not accerate at all and made chunking noises. I parked the car and called a tow truck. The car had two major checkups at the dealership july-august and was assured that nothing was wrong with the car. Engineer said it had been overheating during the time of the major check up. Nissan tech at service center swore my car was in perfect working condition.
The vehicle has been having transmission issues recently. When accelerating the transmission causes the car to stop and then to jerk forward and shudder. When reversing this has also become an issue. This is extremely concerning, especially when attempting to reach the speed limit on a highway. Even entering normal streets is a cause for concern since the car will stop and shudder suddenly. Because of transmission concerns, I took the vehicle to be serviced and was told the transmission was bad but was out of the extended warranty that Nissan provided as a settlement in a class action lawsuit regarding the transmission issue which appears to be a systemic problem with Nissan's CVT transmission system.

I recently took my 2013 Nissan sentra to the dealership for a recall update where the vehicle didn't recognize the passenger seat was occupied by an adult and as a result the passenger airbag was turned off. Well, even after the system update I keep having the same problem. The system still doesn't recognize when my mom (150 pounds) is a passenger and even less when my 120 pound sister is with me. This is frustrating and scary because soon my daughter will reach the age where she would be able to ride on the passenger seat. I feel like after investing a considerable amount of money on such an essential asset the least I can do is expect for it to be safe for my family and myself.
While riding in the passenger seat, the airbag disabled light is still illuminated, leading me to believe that the airbag is disabled even though there is a full grown adult in the seat. It shuts off intermittently, but on today's 6 hour drive it did not turn off once even though there was someone occupying the seat. *tr
Traveling northbound on hwy 5 . A truck veered into the lane and hit the car head on. Severe damage yet the air bags did not deploy. Thankfully my daughter had on her seat beat. I just brought this car on nov 23, 2013. *tr
The driver airbag light stays on, on the dashboard. It turns on when I start the car and it stays on. One day it was off when I first turned on the car, but as I drove a couple of blocks it turned on. I went to a mechanic and he ran a diagnostics and it came back with code b00a0-00 occupant detection system data 4 sensor - history fault. He suggested I go back to Nissan. Nissan told me there are no recalls and I would have to first pay $180.00 for them to run a diagnostic test and then pay for any repairs. I am concerned as this is a safety issue, I am not sure if the drivers air bag will deploy. I have never been in an accident with this car and it has low mileage about 12,200 miles. Also, I hade the front passenger air bag status light operation recall fixed in 2016.

The problem with my 2013 Nissan Sentra relates to the transmission which was serviced April 22, 2024 at Passport Nissan in Suitland, M D. Two months later, June 12, 2024 my car was serviced again for transmission problelms. The CVT transmission unit was replaced because of internal malfunction on the transmission assembly. My car is currently unsafe 1 year and six months later with transmission problems. The recent diagnosis requires removing the existing transmission assembly and installing a new one to ensure proper functioning of the drivetrain. The cost is $7,509.41. My contention is that the transmission is still faulty and unsafe after multiple paid service attempts. Nissan service management informs that service is outside of the warranty by one month because of their recent
2013 Nissan Sentra that I bought brand new in 2014 with only about 15 miles on it. December 2024 In the middle of traffic the vehicle would not accelerate forward, even when almost flooring the gas pedal. This would only Rev up the engine as if I was in park. I was able to drive in reverse to a park in a lot next to where the vehicle stalled. There were not any warning lights at anytime prior to the incident. The mechanic did take a look at it and believed it was a transmission issue. The first time this happened was about 2018 with the same type of scenario. The transmission was replaced $4000+ later by Nissan but when they gave the car back the AC did not work and I had to replace the compressor. They denied any wrong doing at the Nissan dealership but it was fine before I dropped it off
Gas light on check engine light on due to fule sensor level
I was driving down the road and all of a sudden the car started to sputter and I couldn't accelerate. Whenever I came to a stop it jerked after a minute of the RPM just revving, it finally shifted and lunged forward. I think the transmission went bad. Made it home parked it and I've been too concerned to drive it since.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while attempting to refuel the vehicle, fuel started spewing out of the fuel filler neck. The contact waited until the fuel level was almost empty and slowly pumped gasoline into the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to three separate mechanics and was informed that the issue was related to the oxygen sensor; however, two mechanics also stated that the issue could be related to a defect with the EVAP system. The contact then stated that while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle began to lose power while depressing the accelerator pedal, as the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate above 40 MPH and pulled over. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle several t
