Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Toyota tundra. While driving between 3 and 7 MPH with the brake pedal depressed, the engine would rev and the rpms would erroneously increase. The vehicle was taken to two separate dealers who were unable to duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was 2,000.
When the engine starts it has a very noticeable knocking noise on the passenger side that never goes away. You put it in gear and you can really hear the engine knocking, and the knocking speeds up as you accelerate. Even after the engine warms up completely you can still hear it knocking(stationary, or in motion) . Also my gas mileage is horrible! I average about 12.3mpg every tank. The best MPG I have ever seen is 13.4 MPG average which is ridiculous even for a full size truck. I always loved Toyota vehicles and ever since I was young I always wanted a Toyota truck because I thought they were the toughest out there, but after owning this 2013 Toyota tundra I'm disgusted.
Vehicle at 23199 miles, still under warranty-car stationary, smelled burning oil and noticed the oil leak from both sides of the wheel well above the heat shield. Vehicle was diagnosed by a dealer and cam tower seal was leaking from both sides. They also found valve cover was leaking as well. This was a great safety concern due to fire hazard. Factory defect due to insufficient seal applied to the matting surfaces. Defect remedied and major repair was completed. They have changed all the gaskets and seals on the engine.
Cam tower leaks oil on the heat shield below it. Cam tower uses rtv rubber seal instead of a gasket. The rubber deteriorates and the cam tower leaks engine oil on the heat shield. Not clear why Toyota used form in place rubber material instead of real gasket. Repair however is major. Need to take apart engine to repair. Major repair. The fix is to replace it with the same material again. Which is subject to deteriorate again. This is a know issue on the 5.7 L engine. Toyota seems to have its head in the sand hoping they shouldn’t be forced to recall. However this is a know design flaw resulting in leaking oil on the heat shield. With no Toyota recommended new design or parts repair except to do it all over again and hope it doesn’t leak again it’s ridiculous. . Terrible

On march 6 of 2014 I had brought my 2013 Toyota tundra in for a very bad vibration issue coming from the bottom it turns out when they inspected the truck that driveshaft had to be repacked I was in a rental car for two inconvenience me for those two days with no truck that I bought to have and use finally got the truck back everything seems okay and then on 531 of 14 which is approximately two months after the first incident my truck was again brought in for a issue coming from the rear end now they stated me that my wheel bearing had went went bad with proximately only 11,256 miles I'm no mechanic but I do know wheel-bearings go way longer.. Seven months later what do you know 18,000 miles my whole front end alignment was way out of whack I'm no mechanic but there is an issue with this t
I was pulling into a parking spot when my power steering went out. I checked the fluid and the fluid level was low. I called Toyota customer care and they sent a tow truck to pick up my vehicle and deliver it to the nearest dealership. While loading the truck, a seal popped on the steering arm and fluid started leaking out. Springhill Toyota is not honoring my manufacture or extended warranty because I have added heavy duty coil springs to support my road armor bumper I installed for extra protection. After researching, this seems to be a common problem in the 08-13 tundra's with or without modifications. Toyota even issued a technical notice "t-tt-0183-12" to address this issue but the dealership is denying this claim. This could cause a major accident if this happened at highway s
I took my 2013 Toyota tundra in for a routine 55,000 mile service and they informed me that the steering rack is filling with fluid and I could have it sieze up on me while driving. I purchased all warranties good until 2020 but they feel this design flaw should be covered by me the consumer. I was quoted $3000.00+ for the repair. I bought this truck after putting 100,000+ on 2006 tundra with nothing close to this is repairs. What is going on? The steering can sieze up, and this isn't a recall? Why would I buy another Toyota? How do they justify letting this level of a safety issue to just drive out of the dealership and say it's your problem?
Bad vibration in steering wheel and gas pedal at 1600-1900 RPM range. Doesn't matter the speed. Vibration is worse when vehicle is under load or towing . Both hands and right foot fall asleep from vibration on long continuous trips , I've contacted Toyota twice and had to dealer twice . Dealer says this is normal characteristic of truck . Toyota denies any other complaints . There is nothing normal about this vibration as hands and foot are affected by the vibration to the point of going numb , there are many many complaints of this on many Toyota forums. *tr

Vibration in gas pedal, steering wheel and floor board every time the accelerator is engaged. Have carried to the dealer four times. Was told today 11/26/2014 that it is harmonic vibrations.I asked where was it coming from but was not provided any answers.I am concerned because it involves the gas pedal and the fact that the dealer will not tell me the source of the vibrations ,if they know.I also called Toyota corp.and filed a claim but was told if dealer and engineers said there was no problem,my only recourse would be a claim with NHTSA. *tr
I have noticed previous recalls from older model Toyota trucks due rust occurring to frames and beds. Currently, there is no recall for my 2013 tundra specific to this. However, it seems like the frame rust issues continued past the earlier recall. My truck is 2013 Toyota tundra with approx 35,000 miles. There is rust on the frame and bubbling through my truck bed liner. From forbes I noticed there was a $3.4 billion recall for Toyota trucks and suvs from 2005-2010. From further research on various forums, I noticed others having similar issues. I spoke to Toyota, they stated there is no recall for my year truck. I will share some photos from rust bubbling through the truck bed. If you would like additional photos I would be happy to share. I really am unsure the next coa
Toyota frame rusting recall is cut off at 2010. I have a 2013 that the bed is rusting out because of the plastic Toyota branded beds the factory installed when it was new. The frame and rear axle also show rusting. I am paying out if pocket to stay safe.

The air injection pump is defective and allows condensation and or moisture which leads to totally failure. I have already spent 1100.00 dollars for one side now the otherside is failing..this failure caused the truck to lack any get up when pulling out into traffic. It wants to stall.
Seat rail loose on drivers side seat. Seat is bolted firmly to floor but the rail that it slides on is loose. Problem started at 30,000 miles and truck has 40,000. Toyota want 1100.00 to fix the seat because its out of warranty. Toyota offered to pay for the rail at 700.00 and I pay 300.00 for install. As I research this model of tundra on the internet, this issue is common. This truck is unsafe with a loose seat rail and I feel that it should not have to be replaced every 30k miles. It should be recalled!!!

Turned headlight switch to "on" position but lights did not turn on. Turned switch "off" and back "on" and lights still did not work. Wiggled the switch around some and the lights came on. Truck was sitting in my driveway when this happened. I was driving one night and turned my left turn signal on and the headlights went off. I was able to wiggle the switch around and get them to come back on to make the turn. When I parked I turned the right turn signal on and the headlights went out again. It seems there is a short somewhere in the switch.
Vehicle surges/jumps forward when the gas pedal is barely touched from the stationary/stop position while in drive. I was moving the vehicle about 2ft.this problem caused property damage this morning. This vehicle has had this problem from date of purchase. I reported this to Toyota in 2013. (2nd problem,) this vehicle goes up to 2500 rpms when I turn down the next street which has a slight decline but the speed doesn't increase. This seems to happen in the morning when it is first used. I think this could be a defective computer module for both problems. (3rd) problem the instrument panel can not be read on a sunny day, you don't know how fast you are going or how much fuel you have, etc. The whole panel could be defective. I reported this problem to Toyota in 2013, they did not show

The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the VIN related to the failure. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was provided the same information as provided by the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
On two different occasions I was driving my tundra on the freeway at approx. 70 MPH. My truck lost power and I almost caused accidents on both instances since I could not accelerate past 40 MPH. I had to manage my way out of the freeway to a safe place. 2two diagnostics were performed and I received codes p0418, p1604, c1241, p2445, p2441. I was told by the Toyota dealership that there was a problem with a faulty secondary air injection system pump and other components related to the system and I was provided a repair cost of over $3,000 dollars. I was later informed, and I discovered through research, that Toyota had installed faulty/defective air pumps in thousands of tundras 2013's like the one that I own. I reached out to corporate office but they stated that my VIN number somehow did

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Toyota tundra equipped with bridgestone dueler h/t 684 ii tires, size: p255/70/r18 (na). While having routine maintenance performed on the vehicle, the technician informed the contact that the front tires needed to be replaced due to wear on the treads of the tires. The tires were not replaced. The tires were the original equipment. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage of the tires and the vehicle was 20,000.
