TAILGATE UNINTENTIONALLY OPENS: This Service Information Bulletin (Revision 4) replaces SI B51 30 16 dated March 2018. Trunk/tailgate may open when vehicle is locked Trunk/tailgate may open while the vehicle is in motion usually after stopping such as a traffic light etc. Vehicle key trunk/tailgate button may be accidentally pressed thus opening the tailgate.
SIDE PANEL REAR LIGHT HOUSINGS: LTD WTY EXT TO 10 YEARS WITHOUT MILEAGE LIMIT: The rear light housing(s) can loosen/detach at the mounting tabs this can cause a clacking sound in the rear of the vehicle while driving. The plastic mounting tabs for the rear tail light assembly housing(s) may become too brittle and crack to the point where the hold down nut(s) can no longer keep the housing(s) in place.

The vehicle was taken to BMW of sterling (21710 auto world cir, sterling, va 20166, (571) 789-2306), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

I was involved in an accident on 9/9/20, where my car crashed in to side wall of interstate. Driverside had impact with wall. Curtain airbags deployed successfully. Driver seat airbag came out with blast. They ignited fire and my shirt(dry-fit polo ) burned. I was injured with burn marks on my abdomen. Each burn mark corresponds to whole in aid bag.
