It has been an ongoing issue for years concerning the dimness of the headlights on this vehicle. Virtually impossible to drive at night , can’t even see the lane markings with lights on dim. The cause was determined to be leaky seals creating corrosion. I replaced the bulbs myself and it made no difference. No recall was ever granted in spite of multiple complaints and filings with the NATSA. The Cadillac dealer is aware of the problem but has no authority to replace. I have had to let my relatives know of this issue in the event I were to be involved in a nighttime incident.

The low beam headlights have increasingly become dimmer to the point where it is difficult to see on the road at night without using high beams. I think the issue began around the middle of 2019.

About 6 months ago, noticed low beam visibility was very low. Dealer said "common problem" needed to replace entire lighting unit ($800 each side). Now after having time to research, finding it is a common problem with other srx owners. Did change bulbs, but that was no help. Cadillac needs to step forward and remedy the problem.

12/29/2019 ODI #11291894.0

The normal headlights at night do not provide any help. Was told there is nothing wrong with the lights or the assembly. Every bad review says this is a known problem. Every safety rating has been lowered due to headlight issue. Selling car and not buying any more Cadillac's if Cadillac isnt going to help repair their known issues with their vehicles. You spend upper 5 figures for a car and get told too bad. Poor customer service.

12/28/2021 ODI #11445204.0

I have has headlight problems since 2014. Replaced bulbs, no difference. I have to drive with high beam on at night. Dealer can only replace with same problem type lights. GMC knows of the problem. There is no permanent repair for the issue.

12/27/2021 ODI #11445051.0

The low beam headlights have become so dim that they are virtually useless for night driving. The only way I can drive after dark is with the brights which creates a safety blinding hazard for oncoming vehicles. In going on line I have found this has been an ongoing problem for several years but GM or Cadillac Motors has never announced a recall. The problem is not the bulb or even the globe.

12/27/2019 ODI #11291446.0

Headlights are not bright enough to see at night. Need to use high beams in order to see the road at night. Can't see peripheral vision. Can only see straight ahead with minimal distance. This is a major issue and I try to avoid driving at night at all cost. This issue needs to be rectified by Cadillac immediately so no one gets injured.

Night driving is very dangerous for me. I have to drive with my high beam lights on. The low beam lights are so dim they do not give safe vision. Since we have had the car,2014, we always felt the lights were too dim. At the time the dealer said there really wasn't any real solution for the problem. If they replaced them the same thing would occur. I should have had my concerns authenticated in writing, but didn't. I have contacted gm and am waiting for a response. The last time I talked to them they said they had no recall issues due to the lights. I asked them to reopen the file on 12/26/19. I am waiting to hear from them. They will contact me again on 12/30/19. My vehicle has this problem all the time.the poor visibility is a constant no matter where I drive. It is especially difficul

This is the second time I've issued this form. The headlamps on my 2014 Cadillac srx (and about 300,000 others) setting is such that the headlamps' low beams do not illuminate the roadway due to faulty engineering or manufacturing and should undergo a recall service by Cadillac.

12/24/2021 ODI #11444898.0

My car is undriveable after sunset because of low beam dim headlights. My car is a 2014 Cadillac SRX with 74971 miles. I've had a estimate of $1763.24 to fix problem at Labadie Cadillac in Bay City, MI. After investigation this has been a problem known to you for years, I don't understand why a safety recall has not already been ordered against GM, we can't see where we're going at night, that sounds like a safety problem to me. I know GM has paid for repairs after class action lawsuits, but why wasn't a safety recall ordered by you?

12/22/2018 ODI #11163114.0

Concern: extremely dim headlights on our Cadillac srx, so dim and hazardous that we choose to not drive at night and never in rain. We have replaced the bulbs with strong new bulbs from sylvania (gold series) however there is no improvement. We have been to Cadillac dealership, they want to charge 1,900 dollars to replace both faulty headlight assemblies with the same faulty headlight assembly and charge us for it. Keep in mind this is a barely 4 yr old Cadillac that you cant even drive at night for fear of safety. My cellphone is brighter that the headlights, we have done the comparison. We have since learned of pending lawsuits over the same issue, accidents, etc,...it is as much of a safety hazard as I can think of. A 4 yr old Cadillac that you cant drive at night due to the faulty, we

The headlights are failing and this car is too dangerous to drive at night. We are forced to drive with high beams on because otherwise you cannot see the road. Many many instances of this posted online and Cadillac has been aware of problem for some time. Also class actions suits. Yet they will recall and are forced to pay huge amount for repairs.

Headlights on low beam are unsafe and vehicle can not safely be driven at night. We returned to dealers who replaced bulb after one blew out but new bulb did not help. After researching on internet we have learned this is a common problem with this year make and model and has been reported by many consumers although there has been no effort by manufacturer to correct. Very unsafe.

2014 low beams became dim. I changed out the bulbs for new ones and still cannot drive my vehicle at night. The SRX website states this is a known Cadillac SRX problem but there is no fix except to replace the lights with the same defective lights
