2014 FIAT 500L owner complaints

Several times, the car has stalled for unknown reasons and has had trouble starting up. When I asked the Fiat dealers they say that it is intended behavior. However, several online searches revealed that this is a common problem. Furthermore, Fiat is doing a recall for an identically described issue for "Chrysler (fca us llc) is recalling certain 2014 Fiat 500l vehicles. The powertrain control module (PCM) software calibration maybe incorrect, limiting the engine to idle speed and torque even when accelerator pedal is fully pressed." recall number 17v192000, 14v103000

Hi my car (Fiat 500l easy with 26000 miles ) start to have issues after was fix in the last recall ,then and now my car do not have any warning light in the dash but do not pass the smog test because have some internal codes u11c9 - u11ca and u0415 . Plus after recall , two times I was stop in a traffic light (complete stoped with my feet on the brake pedal) and my car make something like try to engage or hard shift drive . While driving in traffic the check transmission light came on and car would no longer accelerate coming to a stop in traffic. Gears were not recognized per dash lights. Towed to shop for transmission repair which failed again within a six month time frame when once again while driving check engine light, check transmission light, check temp light all alternately started flashing, car quit accelerating and coasted to stop.

The car stalls while driving and the engine revs high while giving gas as if it was neutral gear. Loses power on the freeway. Feels like it slips out if gear. It's hard to shift out of park. *tr

Dec 23 2015 vehicle has 35,000 miles on it and the transmission went out in our driveway every gear was neutral. It was in the shop for 38 days before we received it back. All repairs done under warranty. Feb 9 2017 while in a parking lot the vehicle was put into reverse however the vehicle started to roll forward causing my wife to crash into a concrete pole in the parking lot damaging the front end. I contacted Fiat customer care about the incident and they told me to take it to the dealer and after alot of talks they said they would fix the transmission error but not the damage it did I fixed other repairs so the vehicle could still be driven. Sept 15 2017 while driving in congested traffic vehicle was smoking and shifting rough would roll backwards if gas pedal was not fully depressed

I pulled into a parking lot at 10mph. I attempted to stop the car to park. The brake jammed and the engine revved .I repeatedly pressed on the brake and it would not go down.it was a very small enclosed parking lot and not much space to move. I hit the parking barrier causing damage to the front end because there was no where else to go .radiator fluid poured out of the vehicle. My mother was with me in the car and witnessed this accident. She drove the car to a close auto mechanic as I was distraught. I am afraid to drive this car. *tr

My 2014 Fiat 500l trekking began to produce a horrible smell while and cut off while I was driving making steering out of way of traffic behind me very difficult. The car went from going about 45-50 miles per hour to about 5 MPH in a matter of a few second, everything locked up making steering virtually impossible and then finally coasted to a final stop. Upon me de ranking the car I was unable to shift it to drive at all. I had the car towed to the dealer which I purchased it from only 3 months earlier. 2014 Fiat 500l the consumer was involved in an accident. Where the knee airbags deployed with such force, the consumer received burns, cuts and bruises to her knees. *mw

My airbag light keeps coming on. It has been happening for the last 4 years. Everytime there is a temperature change more than 10 degrees the light comes on and stays on during driving. After the car is driven for a while and it's parked and turned off it resets. I've had the dealership check it and they say there is no code that shows the light being on. The app says I don't have any unresolved recalls but I think the replacement part is faulty.

Car continues to have problems 3/2/15 car stalled months following purchase of the car new told it was a issue with the cold temps and battery was not swapped upon arrival in us. Months later 11/17/15 the call began to stall again in heavy traffic and told a recall was issued and he car needed to be updated and it will correct the issue. Car immediately started to stall 12/17/15 and back in the shop did not identify issue until 12/26/15 and told the issue was control module 9/9/17 car started to stall again did not identify issue. 10/26/17 stalling again did not identify issue be believe dealer had recall. December 2018 call stalling issues occurred more frequently and in january code stated control module was failing again. 6/1/2018 complained to Fiat about inexperienced service techs.

Car will not shift into gear automatic transmissions will not shift readily out of park and won’t go into park sometimes. The transmissions does not receive, or is slow to receive, an intended gear selection. Vehicle came to a complete stop while driving. Get message there is no manual mode available.

My wife and I bought this car in 2013. We have had issues with the ESC pulling us into traffic and off the road. We live in a windy road area near yosemite national park and can't safley drive around without having to shut ESC off every time we drive in fear the car tries to pull us off the road with our children inside. We have expressed our concern to the dealer the very first time it happened and nothing has been done. The dealership says there is no problem at all.

The sunroof exploded on his Fiat 500 L while he was driving. It was very early in the day, no other vehicles on the road so no debris hit it. It just exploded out of nowhere. Insurance has been notified to inspect the damage. The sunroof was closed at the time, due to it being 20 degrees. No prior issue with it. This has happened to other drivers with this particular vehicle per online chat rooms.

I have taken my car in 3 different times after being in stop and go traffic and my brakes seizing, car turning off, smoking from car, warning lights on dash instructing me to put in n and then in d or r and then the car dies. Cannot turn back on. Once I can get to start, shrugs in movement. The vehicle does this when I stop and go - have issues with shifting after the car starts back up.

Driving on hwy 183 in cedar park, tx, a trucker did not have his tarp tied down tight enough, allowing a large amount of rocks and debris to fly out of his truck bed. These rocks, of course, bounced all over the highway causing quite a disturbance and cracking my windshield so badly the whole thing needs to be replaced.
