Bought vehicle approx 1.5 years ago from a Chrysler dealer with 28000 miles. Presently about 46000 miles. While driving at city speed, came to a red light and started smelling this odor of burnt differential fluid or rotten egg smell. Immediately called dealer and made appt, for following day. We were told it was not the catalytic converter (which we thought it was and under warranty), but it was the cpu unit. We were also told it would cost us $3000.00 . The warranty on the unit is 5 years or 60000 miles. Whichever comes first. How could this happen on a unit that normally lasts a lifetime. Especially at 46000 miles. We did some research because dealer said they cannot warranty or even check with manufacture on warranty. We found that this is a common defect with the 2014 Ford edge anf
I had sent you a complaint about my vehicle. Complaint number 11384259 stating the vehicle cpu was defective. What I meant to say was "the ptu unit is defective"{ power take off unit.}. Thank you and I apologize for the mistake.

New brake booster, new brakes put on 6 months ago, ABS now has problems. Car starts to skid when braking, only 1 brake works, car only has about 140,000 miles on it. When on the freeway at about 60-65 mph, car will start to lose power and shake until you hit the brakes really hard 2 or 3 times, no accident yet but if not fixed, it will happen. Brake pedal goes down to the floor will sitting at a red light or at a stop light.

2014 Ford Edge was purchased in 5/2015 with 6k miles on it. It was a leftover from 2014. There have been constant brake pulsating issues (details below) from the day it was purchased. Rotors have been cut down or replaced every year since the car was purchased. New brake pads have also been required just about every year. The HCU was replaced in 6/2021, which the Ford Dealership admitted was an issue they were seeing with many models however there was no recall ever done. The most recent is an issue with the Brake Booster, which has been confirmed by the dealership. The car is currently at the Ford Dealership. When applying the brakes, the pedal is spongy, and a pulsating is felt in the pedal. This is felt at all speeds but becomes a safety issue at speeds over 30. Braking becomes

When the vehicle reaches up to 80,000 miles or so, you may hear a clicking or clunking in the rear when turning or ascending. Nowhere listed in the driver's manual is a power transfer unit mentioned. Obviously, the fluid in this part has to be changed every 30,000 miles. Resulting in a very expensive repair if not done so. I am being quoted 2500.00 for the part and installation by a ford dealer. The power transfer unit blew up, has black oil and metal fragments in it.

I bought the vehicle new, and have slightly over 42,000 miles on it. In november 2018, when driving on a 2 lane road in the city, the vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration and the wrench light on the dashboard came on. I had to quickly maneuver to the side of the road as the vehicle lost speed and came to a stop. Pushing down on the accelerator would not do anything. I had to have the car towed to a dealer, where they diagnosed that the throttle body was binding due to carbon build-up. The dealer replaced the throttle body and cleaned the fuel injection system and fuel metering system. As the vehicle was no longer under warranty, I had to pay over $650 for the repairs.
My wife and I stopped for lunch, and parked on a city street. (85 I remember looking at my phone when I stopped and shut off the car using the push button on the dash. We walked to the food stand and someone tapped me on the shoulder to inform me that my car rolled down the street. I attached a picture below. I crawled to the driver side through the passenger door. The car came to a stop by hitting a small tree, and just missed a large tree. I was also informed that the car rolled slow enough the cars and people were able to avoid contact. There was a crowd, but thankfully no one called the police. The car only had a small scratch on the bumper. I also remember a bing..bing..bing noise when we exited the vehicle prior to it rolling away. It made the same noise then I leave my h

I leased a 2014 Ford edge from antelope valley Ford. After taking possession, the vehicle had turbo lag problems. I reported this to antelope valley Ford and they took the car in for repair. I was told there was no problem. The problem continues to this day. This problem occurs when vehicle is in motion.
On 9-27-14, using adaptive cruise control on straight, 4-lane divided highway with no traffic in lane ahead or behind. Vehicle's brakes suddenly activated dropping speed from 74 to 50 MPH. Taken to dealership 10-7-14 and issue could not be duplicated. Happened again on 11-11-14 with same roadway & traffic conditions, this time 55 to 50 MPH drop. Taken to dealer on 11-20-14 and again no issues were detected with the vehicle. Contacted Ford customer service who said to take it back again to generate a "hot line" complaint for an engineer to look at the vehicle. Took vehicle back 12-3-14 and left it so they could drive it for a few days and try to duplicate the issue (they supplied a rental). Called after 2 days and said an engineer "happened to be there looking at another vehicle so

The Power Take Off Assembly (PTU) failed. I had it replaced a a Ford Dealership with a genuine Ford PTU. After driving less than 125 miles the PTU failed again and my right front half shaft disengaged without notice on the high when traveling at highway speeds. Upon return to the dealership they noted that the PTU failed and it was replaced at no cost. However, they charged me for the replacement of the Right Front Axel. I contacted Ford Customer Service and contend that recall 14S10 should apply especially after the new PTU failed. They denied my claiming stating that the dealership claimed a torn CV Boot was the cause of my axel disengaging. However there was no mention of a torn CV Boot in the dealerships multipoint inspection of my vehicle when originally brought in. Ford Customer Serv
