Headlights flash off or stay off when using the turn signals. At night when changing lanes or turning corners the headlights sometimes go off for a moment when engaging the left or right turn signal lever. Also the headlights sometimes turn off and stay off when completing a turn when the turn signal automatically turns off. One needs to jog the turn signal lever to get the headlights back on. This can be recreated when parked simply by operating the turn signals. This is an intermittent problem whether moving or parked. This problem seems to be independent of weather, speed or road conditions. I have seen many complaints and examples of this condition on you tube.

Car engine shuts off/stops running, without warning, while driving. Has happened 3 times in the past 12 months. At slower speed, in town, coming to a stop or slowing for a turn. Car starts back up right away, and won't stop again for a long time. Also can't make it stop on purpose.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Genesis. While driving approximately 45 MPH, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and restarted, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to peacock Hyundai hilton head in hardeeville, south carolina 29927 (843-208-1234) where it was diagnosed that the charcoal filter was overloaded and shut down the engine. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and recommended that the charcoal filter be replaced. The filter was replaced, but the contact did not feel that the vehicle was safe to drive. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.
It's termed as a "Dead Pedal" with the accelerator pedal sensor as to when the accelerator pedal is applied to move the car, the signal to apply gas to the engine to move it , doe's not happen, and the car will not move, momentarily causing a very unsafe situation in traffic. this problem is sporadic and you never know when it will happen. to my knowledge this is happening in the 2009 to 2015 models Hyundai Genesis cars with the 3.8 and 4.6 and 5.0 engines. Any car with the drive by wire is effected with this problem, and should be looked into and repaired. I have not gone to the dealer with this problem and there is no check engine light on when it happens.

The vehicle accelerate on it on when is in park gear. I turn off the engine to stop the acceleration of RPM, I turn off engine when I saw it goes up to 6000 RPM, which I believe it could continue to raise. The vehicle also accelerate on it on when it in drive gear ( local and highway ), I safely pull over, put in park gear ( still accelerate ) and turn off engine. Overall it happen once a month since 2017, but 2 weeks ago ( 08/07/2017-08/13/2017) it happen twice. I bring it in dealership and they cannot find anything wrong with it using computerize test.
On july 4 2017 at approximately 7:30am et I was waiting to park and had my foot on the brake when suddenly the engine revved and accelerated, moving the car forward and crashing into the passenger rear bumper of a parked Ford f-150. I pressed even harder on the brakes and the car continued to move forward as if it was sliding on ice; it created tire skid marks from my front tires - supporting that the brakes were engaged. I attempted to put the car in neutral and the engine continued to rev faster. The nose of my car was lowered due to my pressing on the brakes and as a result the front end of my car went under the bumper of the truck and began lifting the truck until it finally came to a stop. The conditions were sunny and the asphalt was dry. On friday june 23 at approximately 2:
Car began to accelerate after starting and put into gear. I didn't touch the accelerator pedal, nor was the floor mat touching the pedal. I had to put the car in neutral and shut it off. After shutting off and restarting, it did this 3 more times. It accelerated while still in park, almost to 3000 RPM before I shut it off. Fourth time, it restarted without any problems.
Unintended acceleration of vehicle after removing foot from gas pedal. After starting my car and backing up, I put my vehicle into drive. Before I put my foot on the gas pedal, the car began to accelerate by itself without the speed registering on the speedometer or the RPM's registering on the tachometer. No warning lights appeared and continued to do this even after coming to a complete stop. The current mileage is 41000 miles, and has had regular maintenance performed. I am an ASE certified technician and could find no reason for this to occur.

All my dash lites came on dealership said the HECU unit was bad not under recall the coup is but the 4 door isn’t I’ve been waiting a month for part on backorder can’t drive my car too dangerous brakes may not work if my sedan is not under recall then why are the parts on backorder with no ETA car not safe to drive yet can’t get fixed
My HECU unit failed at only 61k miles. My car is a sedan not a coup, so Hyundai does not want to cover it under the recall. This is redicules, my safety is at steak
I have had intermittent brake pedal to the floor issue for the past two years. It started off occasionally, but turned into daily. It's very very dangerous as the brakes barely work. To remedy, I had the brake rotors and pads changed, brake fluid flushed. Did not fix the issue. Had the Master Cylinder replaced and it fixed the issue, but then two days later my brakes started binding (opposite problem). Replaced the HECU / ABS Module and still have the same issue. Now the car is not drivable because the brakes are binding. I called a local Hyundai Dealership to see if they would try a goodwill HECU service, since previous years Hyundai Genesis were recalled with the exact same issue, but they said they would not do it for me. So I am trying to work out the issue through independent mechan

I was driving and all of a sudden the head rest hit me in the back of the head put out on both sides. Came looking to se if their was a recall did not see it on here it need to be listed good thing ther was not a car ahead of me that would have an uneccesary accident.
HECU failure only has 61k this is an ongoing issue with Hyundai. Hyundai covers the 2014 coup, but not the sedan in a recall for this issue. I don’t understand the difference.
airbags 2 complaints shown
I got into an accident in october 2019 where I was rear ended and carried into another vehicle but my air bags did not deploy although my headrests did deploy but prior to the accident my car would fishtail when making turns when the roads were wet and while driving on the highway trying to merge into traffic my car loses acceleration all on its own and then gradually picks up speed again I've almost got hit several times because of this. Also my car has shut off on its own in traffic with heavy traffic it was very scary we didn't know what was happening to the car and this has happened twice. Now my car is showing a lot of hard code errors from the ABS/ESC system to power seat modules they say it's something wrong with the computer system itself because it doesn't notify you of any issues
I was involved in a moving two car collision on a city street intersection. After everything came to a stop, I realized my airbag did not work. My front end was totally damage. One of the two metal bar-beans holding the bumper was completely broke; and the radiator pushed completely into the engine. For the grace of god, I was steering with both hands.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where he was informed that the sound was normal. The contact stated that the sound remained. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
I was driving on a highway when my vehicle stalled nearly causing a major accident. There was no warning, engine light or issues with the car starting or driving. No issues with idling or anything to suggest I needed service. The dealer is saying it is excess carbon on the throttle body. It appears Hyundai has had issues with this that have not been addressed.

Headlight flicker off when using the turn signal, stays off for 1-2 seconds. Light switch is in the on position. This happened with me driving at night and making a left turn, very scary !!! Was driving in a city, but it has happen driving out in the country. I think the problem is a fault in the light switch turn signal assembly.
