*NHTSA Please Help* I purchased my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee brand new in June 2014 from a FCA authorized dealership. I have meticulously maintained, gently driven, and greatly cared for this Jeep since day one. Have only ever had the Jeep serviced at the FCA authorized dealership where I purchased. I have followed and complied with all Jeep manufacturer service recommendations since day one. At 115,000 miles, I am currently experiencing a loud ticking noise resulting from failed rocker arms and failed lifters. These failed rocker arms and lifters will result in complete and catastrophic engine failure. I am also experiencing significant engine oil leaking coming from a failed oil cooler. The Mopar oil cooler in this 3.6 Pentastar engine is made of plastic, and is highly susceptible to fail

Vehicle had an aem recall performed and now the interior of vehicle as well the exterior reaks of diesel fumes all there is a terrible hesitation and at times almost a delay in the throttle we have made numerous complaints and trips to the Jeep dealer they say they cannot find issues the reason behind it. We just spent 5 hours at the dealer for a clogged DPF filter only to leave and have my wife vomit from the fumes we pulled over several times to get fresh air.. I spoke to lynn at fca customer care badge number ln187 extension 3020187 she told me if I was concerned I should return vehicle to dealer which I have done numerous times since the end of may.the vehicle is not safe due to fumes let alone the throttle working when it chooses to

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Jeep grand cherokee. While the vehicle was in the park position on a small incline, the vehicle rolled backwards approximately 20 feet. The contact was able to apply the brake pedal and stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10.
The gear select lever is dangerous. From the d position, putting the car into park most often it stops in r. Thinking you have selected park and begin to exit the car is actually on reverse. I owned a 2011 same model no problem, upgrading to this car is dangerous! There is no feel as to engaging park, since they changed the design to this electronic shifter. My wife and I have to verbally confirm the car is in park each time looking at the shifter to display p. Please investigate this danger before someone gets hurt or killed. *tr
On 12/23/2020 at 6:00am I was driving on long point road when the vehicle completely shutdown - all electrical, engine, lights, breaks, etc. I was driving at approx. 30mph heading towards a round-about when everything shutdown. The loss of power resulted in not being able to slow down. Luckily there weren't any cars in the round-about when I entered. However, it was a rather tight round-about and was not able to make the turn and I went over the curb and drove straight through the middle of the round-about.. The car restarted after about 3 seconds and the check engine light came on. Once the car restarted, acceleration was extremely limited. I continued to proceeded down long point road until I could pull off. About 1-2 minutes after the first power failure, another power failure/complete

My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee started to leak oil slowly. We started to smell a burning scent when accelerating. This problem has slowly happened for a while before an oil light showed up on the dash. We took it to the mechanic & had an diagnostic test done. It was confirmed that our oil filter housing was leaking. This issue could have destroyed our engine. While pricing this repair, we've contacted several mechanics and all have stated that this oil filter housing is a major issue for Mopar (Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat). The parts are sold out of Auto Zone, NAPA, Advanced Auto Parts and can only be purchased on the Mopar site or Amazon. The issue with the part is that it's plastic which dries, cracks & can be easily warped. Dorman has made an aluminum replacement which is hard to come by d
The plastic oil cooler housing failed due to the plastic warping around the seals and leaking. This is a safety risk of potential fire from oil leaking on to the engine block. The cause of this failure is due to design and should be covered by the manufacturer as a recall.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the low-voltage battery warning light illuminated and white smoke exited from under the hood compartment. The contact stated that the failure occurred directly as he arrived at his residence. The contact parked the vehicle and opened the hood. The contact noticed a crackling sound. The contact used the water hose and sprayed the engine down. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed coolant pump and an unknown belt. The contact was informed that the coolant pump and the unknown belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure reoccurred. The check engine warning light illuminated, and white smoke exited from under the hood compart

The vehicle was taken to jeff d'ambrosio Dodge Chrysler Jeep downingtown (1221 e lancaster ave, downingtown, pa 19335; (610) 269-9500) where it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the EGR cooler was replaced five times however, there was a fracture which allowed gasoline to enter the engine, causing the engine to fail. Vehicles "cluster" memory failed causing wipers to malfunction and radio to lose memory. Vehicle occasionally does not recognize keyfob and will set off panic alarm and/or will not detect keyfob, displaying warning which states keyfob has left the vehicle. Dealership has tried "flashing" the memory but problem persists and going back in for service 1-3-14. Upon reading other forums I have found this is a common issue with other grand cherokees. *tr
Fuel pump relay has failed. It is internal and soldered onto the tipm board under the fuse block. This is a well known issue and a cheap fix on 2011 - 2013 models of jeep grand cherokees. The fix was to wire in an external bypass relay. My only option at this point is to replace the tipm board which is quite expensive, hundreds of dollars, for a $8 failed relay....terrible design. Thankfully I wasnt traveling 70 mph on the expressway when the failure occurred, (stall/lose power). Please extend this recall thru the 2015 models

When stopped and parked at the local gas station the plastic fuel filler cap broke off during fueling causing the gas nozzle to fall out. Now check engine light is on. Jeep has since corrected this plastic part on newer models with metal. Cost of part alone is $650.00

seatbelts 1 complaint shown
Both front seat belts (driver and passenger) failed within a few days of each other in mid September, 2021. They do not retract and consequently, the pretensioner does not function. I have made enquires that reveal that it is a known problem, and that NHTSA have previously investigated (NHTSA Action Number: PE19011), but that the file has been closed after the 'preliminary evaluation' and the agreement by FCA US LLC to extend the warranty on the driver and passenger from seat belt assemblies. After having to wait several weeks for an appointment with the dealer, even after explaining the fault and that it was a safety issue, we had the seat belts inspected by a Jeep dealer on 09/30/21 who confirmed the failure. We had previously received a notice from FCA US LLC in relation to the poten
suspension 1 complaint shown
I recently purchased a 2014 Jeep grand cherokee. At highway speeds the vehicle will turn, not drift but turn, to the left. I have had the vehicle in for service three times for this issue each time by the service department at cross Jeep in louisville. I was told today that the Chrysler engineers have determined that this issue is ?normal? For the 2014/15 grand cherokees because of the air suspension. To me this is certainly not normal. At a minimum this is a nuisance problem but also a safety issue when a vehicle will turn to the left on its own. I am very concerned about this issue and equally concerned about Chrysler response or rather lack of response. *js
fuel system 1 complaint shown
I have the new ecodiesel!!! Yes this is an awesome vehicle but... After filing the vehicle up for the first time the issue was noticed while pulling the fuel nozzle from the vehicles fuel neck. The capless green fuel neck came separated from the vehicle. Once the car was turned back on the DEF service warning comes on the dash. This is with less than 300 miles!!! *tr
