Right air bag malfunction error and check engine light for crank case. This is a very common problem that Mercedes explained to me and also told me to check back for recalls because their vni system will probably show one

Air bags: frontal- sounds like the airbag lock spring is broken for no reason. I can hear the click when I turn. The digital dash reads "front left malfunction" and won'y go away no matter what I push. It also has an electrical system: starter assembly issue- the engine or transmission won't turn over a lot due to it. My car only had 40k miles.

Bought brand new cla250 a year ago and driving last week on the high way and "inoperative mode" went on and you lose all acceleration power. After I pulled over finally restarting the car a few times I regained acceleration. Currently at dealer being assessed

My son had to be cut out of the seat back because it was too tight and wrapped around him. The seatbelt strap was locked and would not extend out at all to loosen for extra length on the strap. The seatbelt strap was so tight my sons stomach was was cinched to the point where he couldn't breath. I'm not sure why the suspension on the strap was locked every other seatbelt had extended strap. This was a scary experience and could have severely hurt my son. This is unacceptable for the price I paid for this vehicle and not to mention my child's safety. I didn't take any pictures of the strap around my sons stomach because he was in pain and was frantically trying to get it loose and cut. I have pictures of where I had to cut the seatbelt. I also have a defect with my electrical which I causin

While traveling at 50mph down a busy street during my morning rush hour commute, the vehicle cut off all power and went into "pre-safe mode" which is commonly known as "limp home mode." when this happens, the driver has no ability to accelerate and if the driver is unable to pull over in a safe area, puts them at extremely high risk of serious accident. This is a common problem with many Mercedes benz vehicles that are equipped with esp (traction control). A simple google search of this issue will validate this as a widespread major design flaw in Mercedes benz products. Please take the time to look into this extremely dangerous problem, as many other Mercedes owners have experience this in more dangerous circumstances (on the highway).

What is the problem-pre safe malfunction error when does it happen-while driving is it predictable-no is it safe-no why-the car suddenly loses acceleration ,when the pre-safe error comes on. Scenario-driving a cla 250 at 60 MPH on a motorway on a quiet road in front of a truck.... Pre-safe malfunction kicks in the car slows down and loses accln. The truck driver cannot predict this behavior a this is not a normal pattern to slow down suddenly from 60mph on a quiet freeway. Very very dangerous.

Purchased my new cla250 in september 2014. In august of 2015 my car suddenly stopped accelerating while driving 65mph on the nj garden state parkway!. The pre-safe warning was present on my dashboard. Luckily I was able to pull to the shoulder without causing an accident. This could have caused a major catastrophe killing me and others. I restarted the engine and drove to my destination making sure I stayed in the right lane on the parkway. It failed 2 more times while not on the highway but still a very dangerous situation. Took the car (which had 16,000 miles) to a Mercedes dealership when I returned and they performed a series of tests. They found a product technical support system update which involved updating the software. The failure did not occur again until nov. 2017.

While driving at highway speed the accelerator pedal suddenly failed. The engine would not respond to any input of the gas pedal. I pumped the pedal, floored the pedal all with no response. The engine would not rev past idle and the car lost speed making changing lanes difficult and dangerous. The error messages shown in the photos appeared in the dashboard. This has happened twice (11/30/15 and 12/6/15).

While driving at normal street speed "collision prevention assist inoperative" displayed and car would not accelerate. I was in traffic, but was able to exit and pull over and park, turned car off, & back on. Display reset and car normal. Took to dealership immediately-repair was "non connecting pins". Too early to tell if this solves. Upon investigation, this is a common issue with 2014 mb and I want to document this extremely dangerous performance.

While driving out of a driveway, a car pulled near my car. At that time, the car was stationary. My wife heard the pre-collision warning. The the car completely shutoff or stalled. Turned off the car completely by turning the key. Then turned the car back on. Lucky there was no accident.

Pulling out into a busy two lane highway the3 car went into "pre-safe mode." the car stopped accelerating leaving me stranded in front of oncoming traffic. The drive of the other car thankfully was paying attention and hit his brakes. This could have been a very painful incident. Took the vehicle in for service only to find out that Mercedes has no answer to why it is happening. Only a matter of time until a cla 250 owner gets killed. No longer will let my wife drive the vehicle and have demanded that Mercedes take it back. Very disapointed with Mercedes. *tr

On 12/26/19 contacted benz dealer in west caldwell, nj. Explained to rep. That there was a recall on my vehicle for faulty airbags that when they are deployed had metal and could cause harm or death to passengers. The rep indicated that they do not know when my airbags would be replaced. She put in a call to service dept. So me and my family, including grandchildren have to ride around in a very unsafe vehicle and the benz dealer seem as though they just don't care. They should be made to give you another safe SUV to use until the one you have is fixed. This is a horrific situation. I want to stop payment, due to the situation.

I was driving on the highway and the front panel in between the windshield and the sunroof detached from the car and went flying. Luckily there was no one driving behind me at the time. It was previously repaired in December of 2018. I did some research and saw that my make and model car had a recall issued for this type of incident if you had ever had this part repaired stating that it was done improperly. See: NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 21V197000 RECALL DATE: 2021-03-22 For some reason, my VIN is not included in the recall. I'm not sure why not since this exact incident happened to me. I contacted Mercedes-Benz USA and they are not helping and would not tell me why my car is not included in the recall.

Inoperative pre safe fucntions limited. Vehicle loses power and becomes inoperative without any issue. This has happened multiple times when the vehicle was in motion. It is a potential accident risk of getting rear ended. The vehicle loses power as soon as the message appears and does not give enough time to pull over especially when going on highway with lots of cars and hardly any gap to pull over shoulder. This has happened on a clear straight road and on highways at 55-60 miles an hour. I am submitting the date of latest occurrence of the incident in this report.
