On 9/25/25 I was driving through a green light in Baltimore MD. The streets were grand view and w cold spring lane . A driver ran the red light from my left side and hit me so hard he totaled my 2014 NV200 cab edition. The air bag did not deploy , instead it shot out steering like like missle and hit me in face causing a concussion that led to overnight hospitalization to get cat scan and MRI.. the airbag also cause a permanent burn on right knuckle and lacerations, and damage to my neck from whip lash reacting to being hit unexpectedly by first car then air bag projectile. The air bag hitting me face caused more damage to my body than actual accident which caused severe lower back pain and injuries to my hand and left lingering nerve pain to left and ride side of body. The impact was so h
Ocs recall 5/23/16, parts to resolve still not available....
On-going issue. Passenger's air bag warning that the airbag is "off" is lit when my spouse is in the seat. This problem is intermittent, but occurs close to 50% of the time. The first time that the vehicle was in the Nissan shop, the tech said that "he could reproduce the problem" and that it was resolved by "resetting the computer". The second time in the shop, we were told that my wife's weight, ~100 lbs, was borderline for the sensor and that we should expect the observed intermittent behavior. They were not able to supply any information regarding the DOT guidance on the passenger's weight at which the air bag should be disabled.
Tl* takata recall. The contact owns a 2014 Nissan nv200. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags) and stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. The dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The contact was unable to determine when the vehicle would be repaired. The manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the vehicle would receive the recall repair. Parts distribution disconnect.
My passenger airbag light has been on ever since I've owned this vehicle starting January of 2019. I see there has been an open recall on this since May of 2016, which means it hasn't been solved in over 5 years. I feel less comfortable about driving my partner around in my van knowing her airbag may not go off in the event of an accident.

The Nissan NV 200 heaters stop working. We now have 3 NV 200's (2 model year 2014 and 1 model year 2020) with non-working heaters. The blower works, but only blows cool air. When the windshields fog up, they cannot be defrosted. This has become a significant safety issue being that these vehicles are driven in Cleveland, OH. Repair facilities have not been able to fix the problem.
Little to no air coming out of the rear air vents.
The air conditioning for this passenger van is not sufficient to keep rear passengers at a safe temperature. There is an open case with Nissan, but no repair has been found at this time. These vehicles are not safe for transport passengers, especially children. See attached image of front (indoor) and rear (outdoor) seat temperatures after operating the a/c system for 20-30 minutes on high.
The rear ac blower motor died for the second time in less than a year. This passenger vehicle is the only mode of transportation for my family with 7 small children ranging in age from 10 months to 11 years old. Yesterday and today, the temperature in the rear of the vehicle has reached 104 degrees inside (86 degrees outside) while the ac is running on its highest setting in the front of the vehicle. This is a known issue with Nissan. Their auto tech said everyone who purchases this vehicle comes back within a couple of years to have this part replaced. Their customer service associate recommended that I contact you to file a complaint because they will not issue a recall unless they are directed to do so by you. Please help families like mine. We bought our nv200 in july brand new and today we noticed that both front tires are extremely worn with virtually no tread. The tire pressure was perfect. We've been reading online that this appears to be a systemic issue as there are dozens of complaints the tires are showing metal and worn out by 17,000 miles. Our drivers are at extreme risk. *tr

While driving the vehicle my air bag light continued to flash. I called my dealership and informed them of the issue and they sated they needed to run diagnotics. After receiving the vehicle back the dealer stated it was a software update needed to the vehicle to comply with the air bag standard. I was charged 130.00 usd to be told there items needed an update.
Vehicle lost power while traveling in rush hour traffic. Engine was running but there was no response when stepping down on accelerator. This problem has occurred 3 times in the last three (3) weeks and at least a half-dozen times in the last two (2) months. This vehicle is a 2014 Nissan nv200 taxi s 2wd. This problem has been reported to my garage mechanics who are baffled and turned over to the dealership (koeppel Nissan, long island city, ny) who are also baffled. Both my garage mechanics and the service people at koeppel state this appears to be an ongoing and troublesome problem fleet wide with this model but Nissan has yet either not completely acknowledged the problem or developed an adequate fix.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Nissan nv200. While driving, the engine shut off and the power steering seized. The contact was able to steer the vehicle to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who replaced the fuse to the fuel pump. The vehicle was repaired, but the contact was concerned that the failure would recur due to the number of recalls he found. The contact called kings Nissan (2758 coney island ave, brooklyn, ny 11235, (718) 934-3300) and voiced his concerns. The manufacturer stated that there were no recalls and assigned a specialist to call the contact back in the near future. The failure mileage was 147,000.
Vehicle purchased 08/31/2015. Within 1 month of purchase, on a business trip, power steering started to make noise during turns. I found the steering fluid reservoir low and a leak under the vehicle. Purchased and topped off fluid, notified service department at Nissan san leandro. I was told to keep the fluid topped off and to bring the vehicle in as soon as I returned. The problem was repaired and I was told that it was a bad connection on a power steering line due to "a robot not tightening the fitting all the way".

I was driving alaska hwy with travel trailer. Total load of travel trailer 2,000#. After 2-3 hours driving on cruse control up the hill the cruse control turning of by itself. The RPM immediately drops from 4500 to 1800 RPM and you need to use immediately manual acceleration.also you can smell gasoline in cabin. Since that it happens about 25-30 times. This cargo van I purchased in december 2014. I did go to authorized service in fairbanks ak. The service man drove the van for about an hour without trailer and told me he could not find anything wrong.they charged me diagnostic fee on car with 5 years or 100k warranty. When we come back home from alaska I did call dealer in vacaville california. I told my story. He told me the service adviser will call me. That was 2 weeks ago. Still no cal

1) side mirrors do not provide adequate view. At night, multiple images of headlights make it virtually impossible to determine where other vehicles are located. 2) sun visor is too short to block sun from driver's side window even with the seat pulled all the way forward. (I tried making adjustments and then thought I might get used to it but after driving for six months these deficiencies continue to be a hazard.)

The driverless vehicle rolled away (downhill, going forward) while in park, with ignition turned off, key removed from ignition and the doors locked. After rolling 30 feet down hill the run away vehicle stopped after striking and pinning a pedestrian between the front bumper and a parked car. After the collision the transmission indicated to be in park. The engine started normally and shifted to reverse in order to extricate the pedestrian. *tr
