"takata recall" - I did not receive any communication from volkwagen or my car dealer, darcars Volkswagen of silver spring, md. I only learned about this recall when I approached another dealer about using my leased eos (returning 6 months early) for the lease of a GMC vehicle. That dealer is the one who told me about the airbags recall and told me they the value of my car, which otherwise is in excellent condition, would be negative value because the airbags had not been remedied. I had no clue there was a takata airbag recall for my car!!! Doesn't vw or my vw dealer have some responsibility to notify their customers of a recall that could be a danger??!!
"takata recall" my 2014 vw eos has had 2 major leaks that resulted in water standing in the car. I have had to use a green machine to vacuum out the water twice. The humidly was so high and the temperature in the summer resulted in 100% humidity in the car. The dealer finally got the leaks fixed and vw replaced the carpets. I am still worried about the air bags and vw will do nothing, the lady told me government (NHTSA) has not given a time line for repairs and their hands are tied. My car sets in the back yard I am reluctant to drive it. The parts are not available and the car has less than 2500 miles. I brought the car new and wasted the money you guys need to step up and get this problem resolved, vw says even with the location being in tennessee there is still 6 more years befor

Subject: takata recall. Dear sir/madam, we own a 2014 Volkswagen eos and received notification earlier this year about the air bags recall; however, the parts to do the repair seem to be still unavailable and our car is in the waiting list yet. As of know, unfortunately, Volkswagen has been unable to give us a date to repair our car. How is it possible that this may happen when vehicle occupants may result in serious injury or death? Since the recall we have the stress of wondering if somebody is going to hit us and if the defective airbag might explode when deployed. Our car is still under warranty, as it was originally purchased in february last year (2015), we were wondering if we are entitled to a refund or some kind of compensation because we are intending to sell this
Mid December 2021 the airbag light displayed and all functions on steering wheel quit working to include horn, cruise control, and all other buttons that interface with phone, radio and computer. After daughter returned from college 1st week of February 2022 was the first date available and is when the vehicle was seen by Volkswagen of Little Rock. Service Manager [XXX] reported the Clockspring was faulty and this is a manufacturer defect that is covered fully by Volkswagen, however, the Clockspring has been on back order since February and after calling every 2 weeks and calling again yesterday, 17 June 2022, with still no end on sight, I am filing this formal complaint. My college age daughter drives this vehicle with no horn and no driver airbag. As a retired US Army Veteran, I am all t
Takata recall. I cannot believe that I have received notification that I have a part in my airbag that has the potential to kill me, but that vw has absolutely no idea when they will be able to replace it for me. If this is the case then I should be provided with a car that does not have this problem. How can I be expected to drive a car that I have been told has this potentially life threatening component. Its utterly shameful.

1) The flip up backup camera, yes it is available for inspection. I do have intentions to try and fix it like all the others unless asked to wait. 2) we bought a car with a backup camera for the safety of our 19 year old and others around her after she has crashed her car going fwd, we would hate for her to miss something backwards since she is only 4’10’ 3) yes it has been confirmed by an independent service center, certified by Volkswagen. They confirmed that the wires have broken and a new camera is needed. This is a very common issue. 4) no the component has not been inspected. From reading other ppls comments they do not assist. They have a radio firm up date and they want you to pay for that to fix the glitches. 5) honestly we just purchased the car and when we test drive it the
The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen EOS. The contact stated that while operating, a burning odor was present inside the cabin of the vehicle. Later, while operating the vehicle, the front driver's side seat became extremely hot, causing the driver's back and legs to become burned. The contact discovered a burn hole and exposed heater filament on the back section of the front driver's seat and a burnt section on the seat cushion of the driver's seat. When pushing the driver side seat belt into the buckle, it instantly unlatched buckles. Yea it can be inspected. If in a car accident the driver could be seriously injured or fatally injured. I contacted Germain Westerville, Ohio who informed me it’s not under warranty and it would be $500 - $600 dollars. Contacted corporate who said it’s out of warranty but will have a supervisor call my on December 16,2025 It has not been inspected by police or insurance, it’s the only car I have to drive not sure how police are going to respond to that. No warning what’s so ever. I did try spraying WD40 just in case something was stuck.

I was driving on a highway on sunday afternoon, october 25, when the glass sunroof of my car exploded & shattered out of nowhere & without any warning. Pieces of glass came down through the hole, showering my dog & I. I pulled to the side safely & call the police. Thank god the dog & I were not injured & I didn't injure other drivers. I didn't hit a pot hole & I didn't feel like I was hit by a rock or any object, I wasn't even near any overpasses. I contacted Volkswagen to ask how & why this could have happened for no reason. I was instructed to take the car to one of their dealerships in the area for inspection/investigation. I was told it is impossible to determine the cause of the damage. They could not conclude if the damage was due to external source or defect based on the inspection

While driving on hwy at approx. 50 MPH, automatic transmission shifted by itself to neutral. Unable to shift back to drive, pulled over and using breaks was able to stop vehicle on emergency lane. Was able then to change gear to park. Turn off car and start again. Called mechanic who had previously heard of neutral switch vw issues. This eos only has 26,000 miles and is 4 yrs old since purchased new. Thus still covered by powertrain warranty until april 2019. Dealership diagnosis calls for a $1525 shift lever with multi-switch (includes neutral switch) replacement reportedly not covered by any warranty of this vehicle, including the powertrain warranty that eos has for 5yrs / 60,000 miles. A safety hazard in the making prone to hwy accidents and possible loss of life and multi vehic

The clockspring on the car went out. This mean all steering wheel controls don’t work, but more importantly, the air bags do not work either. We were told by the dealer the clocksprings are on back order and have been since November 2021. There are 8500 already on back order. We were told it could be 6 months to a year before the part is available. Dealership says VW won’t allow them to do loaners, VW says it’s up to the dealership. I’m the meantime, my 24 year old is driving around with no air bags.
