The oxygen sensor on my 2015 BMW 535D Diesel has become faulty. BMW has extended the warranty on Oxygen sensor for diesel vehicles to 10 years OR 120,000 miles. My car is still within 10 year threshold, but at 137,000 miles. It seems BMW has set a mileage threshold exactly before the parts start malfunctioning. The faulty oxygen sensors cause very bad fuel consumption. The mileage warranty threshold be lifted or increased.

The dealer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. My 2015 BMW 535d, VIN number: [XXX] is failing post catalytic 02 sensors. I replaced both of the post-catalytic 02 sensors after 1,040 miles and failed again last week on August 3, 2022. I believe the root cause may be related to the NHTSA Recall Number 21V907. BMW North America has not provided a remedy since notification in November 2021.
