2015 Cadillac SRX owner complaints

Moisture has developed in the headlight assembly, corroding the reflective elements and making vision at night very dim and unsafe. This happens under any conditions requiring headlights. There are hundreds of complaints about this if not more-simple google up Cadillac srx headlight problem. Gm has reimbursed a few owners as a result of a lawsuit limited to a couple of states, but has not owned the problem. Please look more into this issue.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Cadillac srx. The contact stated that the dimmer failed to function properly and the daytime running lamps did not illuminate brightly enough. The contact had to apply the high beam headlights in order to see the road. Andrews Cadillac (1 Cadillac dr, brentwood, tn 37027, (615) 200-9076) was contacted and were aware of the failure, but stated there was no remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

In the last several months I have noticed a dimenished light output of the low beam headlights. It has gotten to the point where the light emitted is not adequate to drive at night and is unsafe. The only way to safely drive at night is with the high beam headlights.

Dim headlights are defective. I can barely see to drive at night. There are groups on facebook of numbers of people with the same complaint. Please investigate this matter before someone is killed.

While driving after dark, headlights were very low brightness. I could barely see the road lines and driving in the rain , I had to use my high beamsto see the highway road markings.

Dim headlights have become increasingly dim to the point I can hardly see the road at night. I don't have the moisture that others have reported. I have researched more about this online and found that the dimming is caused by the heat of the halogen bulbs deteriorating the reflective material in the head light housing. Specifically the hella projection capsule used for the low beam. This deterioration is a slow process and goes unnoticed until finally it becomes to obvious to ignore. This is an ongoing issue reported by thousands of people. This is a defective part that gm refuses to acknowledge. When I talked the my local Cadillac dealer they pretend to be oblivious about this problem.

Lights on 2015 Cadillac srx luxury trim are very dim...almost to the point where no light is seen at night. Have been like that for over a year. I took it to the Cadillac dealership to check for moisture issues and was told that was fine. It was just the headlights...and nothing could be done. Dealership was very ineffective. I have also dodged accidents a few times due to other cars not seeing my lights. At night, I do not feel safe driving. I fear for the safety of others as well. The headlights are very dim it makes it difficult to see at night. It seems as if the headlights are not on at all at night. It's a safety issue and we are afraid to drive the car at night. Upon talking to the dealership and calling Cadillac customer service, they told me they are aware of the problem but that there is no fix for it.

Headlight has become very deem and dealership does not have a replacement part.was told to give 2000 usd and be put on a waiting list to have headlights repaired.the headlights on this model is a problem

Headlights are dangerously dim. Vehicle is not safe to drive at night.

Headlights are dangerously dim. They don't light up the road unless you have the high beams on. I've seen 100's of complaints about this. Quoted $1,400 to repair. This needs to be recalled as a major safety hazard.

Low beams are very low to almost non existent. The bulbs were changed out to no avail it is extremely dangerous to driver at night not only to me the driver but to all other vehicle on the road.

Head light brightness detiorates over time to the point that entire assembly must be replaced for $2000 or more Common problem with cadillac suv for several years.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the headlights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to help with the repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

low bean lights are very dim, visibility is very difficult cannot drive at night low bean light is very dim cannot see the road. high bean draws attention from other drivers blinding them. please advise on a remedy for this safety hazard

Rear lift gate is automatically closing, and doesn't stay open. I've been injured by this & have pictures of my bruises. I wasn't able to stop the lift gate from closing & was pinned in my trunk. This is very dangerous! I've read about similar situations on line. I'm very surprised there isn't a recall about this.

The low beam head lights are dim making the car a safety issue to drive at night. There has been a class action lawsuit filed against gm and gm lost. Gm indicates there is a problem but will not fix the issue. The dealership want $2200 to fix the problem with the same parts that that are causing the problem.

The headlights are very dim and not visible to drive at night. I am unable to see to drive back and forth to work. I work evening shift. This is very dangerous. There should be a recall on this matter.

The trunk which operates by key fob only is no longer remaining open as it should. Instead the trunk will immediately upon opening begin to lower as very quickly. Once the automatic lowering hits the half way point, it will quickly close shut. This a liftgate issue/failure that has great potential to cause extreme harm to someone placing or retrieving items from the trunk; harm that has the potential to be fatal. This is the 2nd major safety issue that I've reported to GM (Cadillac) and no accountability has been taken. I've been told that they are aware of this issue (and the other) as they have been reported by other owners; however, they will love to offer money off if I purchased a new vehicle with them. This is absurd.
