This vehicle was driven by my wife with my kids inside the vehicle. Almost causing a accident which now concerns me for the safety of my family. The gears on this vehicle stop functioning out of nowhere. I'm confused on how a vehicle like this which is suppose to be reliable especially to families that travels in these vehicles. This vehicle is only 4 years old and only has around approximately 60,000 miles. This should never happen to this vehicle unless it is part of this recall. It has not been driven that long and still has low miles. Please help me to fix this problem and get my family to feel safe again in our vehicle. Thankyou

There is a recall for 2015 Chrysler town and country, but I was told it is not for my vehicle. The recall number is s44. The recall is for the transmission because if the transmission loses hydraulic pressure, the vehicle may lose motive power, increasing the risk of a crash. This is exactly what happened to my vehicle today on the highway. The vehicle, with no other known problems, just lost power all of a sudden. Please help.

12/17/2025 ODI #11705676.0

2015 Chrysler Town and Country lost propulsion power while driving, endangering 2 occupants and surrounding drivers. While driving on a residential road, vehicle came to a stop at intersection. Upon attempting to accelerate from stop and applying gas, vehicle jolted and would not accelerate past 5 miles an hour with transmission engaging and disengaging while shifter was in drive. Vehicle's transmission would intermittently engage and disengage for 1/2 mile with no warning lights or error messages. Vehicle idled as normal, but vehicle would not engage transmission properly when shifter set to "Drive" position. Vehicle was then parked in driveway off of the road.

When vehicle is parked and the auto-door lock system is activated by remote and/or manual door lock activation, the locks will activate and the doors will appear to be locked; however, when you pull on the door handles to check the lock, the locks will activate and re-open. This event will occur after a few seconds, minutes, hours, or even over night. In other words, even after you activate the auto-door locks, you can walk up to the car at any time, pull on the door handles, and the car will unlock allowing you to open the doors.

The battery and check engine lights are constantly on despite a new battery, new battery cable, and new alternator. The cruise control will randomly stop working. Abs and vehicle stability lights will go on and off. And at times headlights, dash, and radio screen will flicker and lose power making it impossible to see or know what the car is doing. Mechanic has looked at and repaired the car 3 different times and there is nothing identifiably wrong. The car is now unsafe to drive not knowing when the dash will go out, speed will reduce, or lights turn off. It is a hazard to the driver and others on the road.

The engine developed a ticking noise. From what I have found, there are defective rocker arms in the engine. Eventually, they will fail and cause complete engine failure which can occur at any time, even when driving at high speeds. This seems to be a serious safety concern. There is a class action lawsuit working its way through the courts, but, there should be a safety recall. thanks [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
