car has always hesitated, then jarred or jumped while trying to accelerate. after a second or so it will 'kick in' and go. but the larger issue is at just 70K miles i am paying for a new/used transmission that may have been due to a faulty torque converter. with little warning (and no check engine light warning) the car began to shake violently when i put it in drive. had to call flatbed tow truck and am suck with a large (over $3000 for used parts) repair... right after the holidays no less. this is unacceptable for such a reputable car company.

The car sporadically does not shift from 1st 2 second and then abruptly shuts cause a loud jerk of engine and car. It is startling and scary when it happens. I’m afraid the car will break down while in the road. Every time we take the car to dealership they “cannot replicate” issue therefore there is nothing to fix on an issue that is all over the internet with Honda vans and suvs.
The vehicle makes hard shifts in lower gears, causing a lack of acceleration and then a lurch with engine/transmission clunk. Occurs when accelerating from a slowed or stopped position, so vehicle can be stationary or in motion when this occurs. Has happened before but dealership could not replicate. Similar complaints with lack of resolution found in online forums as well. Presents a significant safety concern since acceleration is altered and shifting is slowed. Has occured on residential roads and highway and at varying outdoor temperatures.
I was driving in traffic for an hour or so, in first or second gear. After a while, anytime we would accelerate to about 20 MPH, we experienced a violent jerking as if we just ran over something. This happened consistently every time we accelerated to or decelerated to 20mph. Took it into Honda the next day and they couldn't find a problem. The jerking was very strong and consistent for about an hour or driving. We are still planning to call Honda, it seems like others have experienced the same issue but no root cause has been found. *tr
Vehicle shifts abruptly from 1st to 2nd gear at feels like car will fall apart when that happens. It has happened multiple time throughout the time we owned the vehicle. Dealerships just does a transmission fluid replacement $230 watch time but no permanent solution. Were afraid transmission will fail in traffic.
Very dangerous drivetrain issue. Transmission shifting issues led the transmission to total failure even after a recommended transmission flush and fill by a reputable Honda dealer. Issue was confirmed by an independent local repair shop. The vehicle itself has low mileage, (@69,600 mi.) No warning lamps prior to the transmission malfunction and failure.
Transmission power has started to fail to engage fully at highway speeds or low speed sudden acceleration. The third party shop showed me a Honda service bulletin 17-043 stating the transmission fluid deteriorates faster than normal. Somehow a software fix is going to address this problem.
Purchased car new in 2015, Honda odyssey, have had shifting issues between gears jerking. Problem started within past year, seems to get a little worse and you can feel it shifting rough. I see various others with same issue, could this be a future recall I hope, I have 65k miles so that would be sad product to have this occur. This is my first Honda and thought they were reliable vehicles, don't have money to replace the transmission. Please help.

The seat recline latching mechanism on one of the second row seats has failed and allows the second row to collapse back into the third row seat. The latch will not latch at all. This puts the person sitting in the 3rd row at high risk of injury if this occurs in a rear end collision. Fortunately, this was discovered without injury.
Driver side sliding door opened suddenly and make continous beeping sound eventhough I did not open it. Cable wire came off and now it is closed and do not open. Contacted Honda but am being told that it is out of warranty as 41,000 miles. I saw on tv that there has been recalls for other model years for this same issue. This has created safety issue for my vehicle.
Was driving ~70mph on freeway near orlando, fl. Heard a strange loud noise and glass breaking, then lot of road noise. Upon stopping to check what happened, realized sunroof glass had shattered and had a large hole in it - it appeared to be bowed up/outward. Luckily the inner cover was closed so no glass entered the vehicle. Did not hear any impact noise when it happened and there are no visible scratches, dents or other evidence of any impact around sunroof which leads me to believe this is a fault of some kind [in glass or otherwise]. The sunroof sits almost flat and the probability of it being struck by anything must be extremely small. If by some miracle it is actually struck by something, would have to be only a glancing impact and I believe should not shatter and disintegrate lik
I have replaced the vehicle pump 4 times in the last 6 months I’m driving vehicle stutters when going uphill then it just stops mid drive and when we have it checked the pump connector are charred. We replace fuel pump and wires and.within 6 weeks to 2 months I have to replace fuel pump again. It’s a safety issue as my vehicle can get into an accident or it can explode due to it burning the wires and connectors to fuel pump. I’m tired of replacing this item
My two side doors do not close at times I have entered place of work and when I go to vehicle at lunch my side door is open. This has happened several times with coworkers closing my van sliding door I have stood there engaged sliding door and it just slides back through open. This is a safety as someone can climb into my vehicle while I’m away or my children can be hurt while closing doors. My doors red light on dashboard remains on for doors. My children have been in vehicle I close sliding door and the doors reopens my children constant statement doors opened again I get off slide them close and they reopen several times
When driving the vehicle the dash will read fwc system failure. This seems to deactivate the ldw as well. Honda dealership diagnosed micu as needing to be replaced.

While parked, when starting the vehicle, the headlights and windshield wipers will not come on. After about an hour, they come back on. Happened twice so far. Only 9000 miles on the vehicle. The dealer says they have never heard of this. Can't find the cause of the problem.
During rain at night, very little of the low beams reach the road way. The pattern of light from the projector type low beam is such that there is a bright line about 2 - 3 feet above the ground at 25 feet. Above that it sharply fades to almost nothing. Below that line, it gradually fades to darkness at ground level. At the factory setting, there could be more light higher up. The real issue is that very little light gets to the road. During rain, roadway center and side lines are not visible, however, reflective material about 1 foot off the ground is incredibly bright. Oi have taken the van to the dealer and they told me there is no solution. It is incredibly dangerous as there is insufficient light to illuminate roadway lane lines.

At 87,000 miles the piston valves failed in my 2015 Odyssey. Safety was put at risk as the spark plugs would fail due to oil leaking from the piston valves and the engine would flash all the lights and run super hard. Unable to drive it for 1 mile after the spark plugs failed. After the 2nd spark plug failure, a dealership confirmed the issue was the piston valves. 2 Honda dealerships confirmed that this is a known issue with Odysseys, Pilots and Accords and they have multiple vehicles in weekly to address this issue. Honda has had recalls on prior year Odysseys 2008-2013 for the piston valves but does not do anything to recognize this issue remains with the 2014-2017 vehicles. In 2018 the engine/build of the Odysseys changed and the piston valves are not an issue for that year and up.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Honda Odyssey. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 7,274. The contact took the vehicle to a Honda dealer to have the vehicle inspected, and it was later discovered that the mileage on the Title was over 200,000. The dealer checked the maintenance history on the vehicle and found that the vehicle was last serviced in 2024, and the odometer was approximately 198,000.

TPMS warning light (error) came on, even though all tire pressures were exactly as specified by Honda. When the TPMS error occurs, the vehicle stability control cannot be turned off, and my vehicle could not move from a small snowbank (february 2020.) my older 2006 odyssey's stability control was not affected by any TPMS errors since it didn't have the system, so I could turn off the stability control and easily drive out of slippery or snowy areas. I live in maine and this problem causes potentially serious issues (being stuck in snow that is normally easy to navigate in when vehicle stability control is off.) there were two specific instances I can recall: 1) my vehicle was parked on the side of the road, with the right-side tires 3-4 inches into the snowbank; 2) my vehicle was par

With vehicle in park, the drivers side rear sliding door opened normally and then would not close all the way. It would start to close and then stop and retract again. All methods for closing the door, both electrically and manually, were unsuccessful. Attempts were also made to close the door with the engine on and off.
