The car I bought in February in a used car lot was, per the salesperson, in excellent condition, had recently done oil changes, and had allegedly no failures. After less than 3k miles, I got stalled on the freeway with a knocking noise; Frank Hyundai mechanics diagnosed it with a CVV oil sensor red flag. I then paid for the repairs after getting denied from both my Hyundai warranty and my extended warranty. This was neglect when I drove that car for just a few months, like a weekend car, less than 3k miles. The car was still stalling on the freeway, shooting smoke, and the check engine light came on. I miraculously made it in one piece to work; however, the car had to be towed back to Frank Hyundai, where, to this day, they still have not been able to repair or precisely diagnose my vehicl

I bought this vehicle from a used car lot in February 2023, not 2022, and drove it under 3k miles; when I took it, it had 86k miles, and the check engine light came on. I took it to FRANK HYUNDAI, where, to this day, have not been able to help me; all this time, I, the consumer, had to chase down the repair guy assigned to my car and, only to be vaguely told it was sludge and metal shedding. It might be my misuse or neglect when I had driven the damn thing before even recommended servicing or an oil change was needed. I also called Hyundai Motors corporate, where a case manager suggested a goodwill repair, but nothing had been done. I would appreciate any help NHTSA could provide as there are campaigns on this model car with engine rod failures, and the damn extended warranty should apply

The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who performed a tune-up on the vehicle. The contact stated that several days after the tune-up, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle hesitated and sounded as if the vehicle was going to stall. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the engine was losing pressure and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated that before the vehicle had the tune-up, the engine was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The contac

Hyundai has not completed a recall (20V746000) for my 2015 Veloster. I first contacted a local Hyundai dealership (Torpedo Gruppe) in Germany on 11 Aug 2021. After they told me they don't know anything about the recall, I contacted Hyundai America on 20 August. After working with a Case Manager (case #[XXX]) they put me in touch with a manager at Torpedo Gruppe on 18 Sep. I talked with the manager ([XXX]) the next day and dropped my vehicle off on 8 Oct, earliest appointment. After three weeks on 29 Oct I was informed that they would not be able to complete the recall for me. I called Hyundai America back up and had to open a new case (case #[XXX]). I am in the military stationed overseas in Germany at Ramstein Air Base. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION A

Dual clutch transmission failing. Intermittently boot ot engaging into r or d gear and slips out of gear while driving on street or highway. I've done research and it appears this is a very common concern from a high number of Hyundai veloster owners. I concider it dangerous as how it happened to me while driving trying to accelerate, gear slipped out and vehicle only reved high and no acceleration. Luckily no fast traffic was behind me. This could have been worst. This has happed twice and Hyundai has yet not found a fix and told me they cant find problem as there is no trouble codes registered in transmission. Mileage when first happened to me was about 50k and second time at 90k. Every maintenance has been been performed to vehicle with records.

I had problems with my engine. Found out the rod bearing was gone. Call Hyundai and power train warranty expire weeks before it happened. Had to swap engines on the car because it was bad. Always had problems with the engine burning oil really bad. I also had problems with the transmission gears dropping out of no were. Last time it happened when I when to make a right turn and shift it into 2nd gear and when it shift to 3rd it drop to 1. Thankfully there wasn't any other car behind me. It would of definitely cost an accident and had my 1 year old with me. I talk to Hyundai and told me they couldn't do much about it because they didn't know about anyone else with same issues.

As I was turning off a main road into my neighborhood at night with little visibility for oncoming traffic, I lost power steering and the car began to shake. I was able to coast into my driveway. As I coasted into my driveway I noticed my engine, battery, and water light illuminated. Upon parking my car, I returned to where I lost my power steering found my damper pulley/crankshaft pulley and the crankshaft bolt in the middle of the street where I lost my power steering. I called the dealership and they took a look at it and are saying the entire engine needs to be replaced.

I had my 2015 veloster at the dealer 5 times for the auto trans sounding like the axles were bad when going into reverse. Trans was flaring up between 1-2 & 3-4 but was told it was normal.that was 5200 miles. At 14314 this bad cv joint noise started & again was told it was normal.at 20859 trans was replaced per the Hyundai field engineer. Both problems still there. Never even got it home before noise started. Back in at 25878 with both problems as of yesterday & now they are saying its a charastic of the vehicle. This vehicle travels 240 miles per day as u can see by the milage. If these axles or cv joints let go my wifes life could be in danger at 70 MPH. Ddealer insists no problem & I have notified Hyundai of america & the bbb auto line with no call back as of yet. Tnx for your help in a

Cylinder 1 has been misfiring. Has the error code p0301. I took it in to Hyundai and they said it was just a spark plug. Changed spark plugs and coil packs and the problem resolved for a few months and now is worse. Misfires/backfires in the engine when pressing gas. Loud popping sound comes out of the engine. The car also does not drive properly. It is shaky when driving.

My 2015 Hyundai Veloster Turbo had no open recalls. On 12/26/21, while stopped at a light, the car stalled, then started smoking, and caught fire almost instantly. There are known fire issues for similar models for which there are open recalls, but my car was not a part of these recalls.

Back in 2015 my dad bought me a brand new Veloster Turbo. Within the first 100 days of ownership my car had multiple electrical power outages. I would be driving at a speed of 55mph (Speed Limit) and all of a sudden the car would stop working. The gas didn’t work and all the electrical parts went out. This event happened multiple times but off and on. When I took it to the dealership they didn’t experience the issue so they couldn’t resolve it. I had a case against Hyundai but they didn’t care. From the Whistleblower that just came out against Hyundais safety protocols I have a firm belief Hyundai knew that there engines were faulty and my life was almost taken. Another incident was on the freeway driving the speed limit and all of a sudden everything stops working and turns off. Almost go

I was driving the 2015 veloster turbo on a straight portion of the freeway between 65 and 70 miles per hour with the sunroof open. The sunroof shattered unexpectedly, and glass flew both into the car, and out behind the car. The glass landed on my arms, head, lap, and went down my back as well. I swerved to the right as a reflex to being startled, and then overcorrected and went left past my lane. I did not hit any cars, however. Glass kept falling on to the freeway, into the car, and on my head for a few more minutes as I made my way to the dealership service department. Once at the dealership, I inspected the damage and found that the glass shards had made many cuts into the paint toward the back half of the car. The dealership later had me circle these scratched with a wax pen. Initial
