Hand operated parking brake safety recall. I received a recall notice from Mazda stating that there is a defect in the brake caliper of mazda6 vehicles produced from october 25, 2012 through december 1, 2014. My vehicle falls into this recall category. I received the recall notice from Mazda on august 19, 2017 making me aware of the issue and stating that replacement parts are not yet available to correct this safety issue. I called Mazda usa on november 2 to get an update and they still don't have an eta for the parts. The recall notice states that the defect could result in unexpected movement of the vehicle if parked on a slope, increasing the risk of a collision. I have asked Mazda to take the vehicle back and reimburse me. The representative made a note of this, gave me a case n
Mazda recalled the problem with the emergency brake(recall1217F) .The dealership did some cosmetic fix that did not prevent it from happening. The emergency brake when applied activated a lever when the brake is released the lever returns to it's original position. The recall was supposed to address the corrosion on the lever shaft that causes it to stick and not release the brake.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Mazda 6. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per an unknown recall regarding the brakes in march of 2018. After the repair, the contact heard a grinding sound coming from the brakes. The initial repairs were performed by bradshaw Mazda service (2512 laurens rd, greenville, sc 29607, (864) 458-3500). The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who wanted to charge the contact a diagnostic fee. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 42,172.
Emergency brake Calipers not working. Same problem as previous years recall. Calipers stuck.
cruise control 2 complaints shown
Intermittently, the cruise control buttons do not perform their proper function. When experiencing the issue, all of the following occur: 1) cancel button functions as the minus (decelerate) button, 2) the minus button functions as the plus (accelerate) button, 3) the plus button doesn't work, and 4) the off button disengages the cruise control but does not shutoff the cruise control main power. This behavior is an issue because with the cancel button acting as the minus button, the cruise control will activate with the cancel button. In addition, having the minus button function as the plus button could cause an accident if the car behaves in the opposite manner as expected. The issue occurs intermittently while driving, and the dealer claims they are unable to recreate th
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Mazda 6. While driving 5 MPH and making a turn, the vehicle failed to respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact gradually applied force to the accelerator pedal and the vehicle accelerated in excess independently. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55.

My RPM'S reaved up real high while driving 60mph and all the sudden the car down shifted and I had to put car in neutral in order maintain control. The traction control light and heck engine lights came on same time, lost power to the car the navigation and radio and dash lights, had no power to drive train, had vechile dinogstic check done at O'Reilly auto and they told me it was a PCM power control module. And I called the mazda dealer in Fostoria ohio the macanhic told me the PCM power control module had been reprogram and I never received no notice on any recalls or the person I bought my car never either. My car is 7 years old and if it war reprogram it should not go bad that soon. Unless there is a problem with there components there using. But my car will cause a accident if I cont
My vehicle has had strange grunting, squeaking, popping noises coming from the frontend, particularly the drivers side. It has had this issue since I bought the car in june 2017. The noise seems to be worse when driving over small bumps. It's very noticeable when I back out of my driveway. I have addressed this issue with the dealership I purchased my car from. They can't duplicate. I have researched this exact issue and found there is a tsb for the suspension issue I'm describing. I'm just getting worried about my safety. I'm afraid something will fail and I feel it's the manufacturers responsibility to correct this unsafe issue with the suspension that affecting many other Mazda 6 vehicles.

After my first trip on the highway in the 2015 mazda6, it got three chips/cracks in the windshield. This is not from a sizable stone, but tiny pebbles that in other cars would not have been affected. After owning many cars over the years, I have never witnessed one to be so quick to get cracks. I am quite bothered that in only seven days my new car needs something replaced due to a weak component. *tr
I am the original owner of a 2015 Mazda 6. While traveling on a straight 60 MPH highway, my sunroof window suddenly exploded, with a loud "bang!". The window was closed at the time and had not been opened in approximately 3 days. Fortunately, the interior deflector (sliding cover) was closed at the time, or glass shards would have rained down on my face and hair. No objects or sudden motions provoked the explosion. Police would not write a report because there were "no suspects of vandalism" and "no collision with other vehicles or property". $725 later, I have a new replacement window from the manufacturer and hope for no similar future incidents or possible mold/mildew issues. The cause of the safety risk is unknown but is certainly unacceptable, given that I maintain my vehicle to the h

I've owned this car for about 6 months. I usually buy gas by the dollar amount, but did a complete complete fill up for the first time with this vehicle. After driving away then parking at home, I noticed a heavy gasoline smell and checked underneath the car. There was a constant drip (every 15 sec or so) coming from underneath, near the rear driver's side wheel. I now have a puddle. I'm afraid to drive it. What if someone flicks a cigarette and it catches fire while parked?! My mechanic says that this is not normal after a complete full up, and should never happen.
powertrain 1 complaint shown
On nov 27 16 the following safety issue occurred to my auto. While driving about 20-25 MPH in slow traffic my vehicle threw itself out of gear, the engine raced, after a couple of seconds it violently went back in gear. Prior to this happening the transmission had locked up twice and the auto could not be moved. By turning the ignition on and off that lock-up was freed. During this same driving period the following malfunction lights illuminated intermittently; engine light, low tire pressure, air bag, traction control (repeatedly). The autos engine was missing intermittently running rough. Operating conditions: ambient temp: 78f, no wind, dry roadway, no precipitation. I contacted manufacturers Mazda assist, they requested towing, auto is now at the dealer in (wallace) in stuar
electrical 1 complaint shown
I bought this car in january of 2017. Lately, I noticed the right side of dash went black, as steering info switch fails while driving. Before our summer vacation road trip, I read through the manual and tested out electronic "bells and whistles", I discovered the master control switch in console and the steering wheel's radio volume control were non-functional(never worked). There was no fuse to check. Mazda dealer claims shorted out due to beverage spill as cup holders are located next to master control switch. If so, why aren't relatively "high" voltage wires protected and waterproof at this location? Dealer has had vehicle more that two weeks; as dealer claims electrical problems need to be traced back into steering wheel and dash. Back in january, as I was signing a pur

body 1 complaint shown
I have my 2015 Mazda 6 for only one and half month. My windshield has a crack of almost 20 inch long. Almost everyday as I drive, I would hear little things hitting my car that leaves marks on my windshield and body. The reason I hear the sounds is because of its less than average soundproof structure. I do not drive any differently then I have been for years, and mostly I am just driving to work. I have never had this consistent problem before with my cars, in fact, for all the cars I ever drove, new or old, own or borrowed, no car gets mark and dents as easily as this one. I believe there is a quality problem with this model and it is unethical for Mazda to sell customers vehicles that are completely resistant-less in wear and tear on a normal use. *tr
steering 1 complaint shown
While driving my 2015 Mazda 6 gt, with 40,0000 miles on it, on a main local road, with a max speed limit requirement of 45 MPH, I attempted to turn into the right turn lane at a speed of approx 35 MPH, while lightly depressing the brake. As I began to turn, the steering just locked up, and the power steering stopped working. A few dashboard lights also came on at the same time.. One said power steering malfunction, the other was a red hazard symbol, and I don't specifically recall the other. I finally shut the car off after a few minutes. When I restarted the car, after several seconds the wheel regained mobility and the dashboard lights went off. I carefully and slowly drove my car home, aprrox 2 miles from where it happened. I haven't driven the car since, due to fear of it happeni
