2015 Nissan Versa owner complaints

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Nissan versa. While driving various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate properly and, eventually, failed to start. The vehicle was taken to passport Nissan (5000 auth way, marlow heights, md) where it was diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 80,000.

On both city streets and highways. Accelerator will stick and or clutch is not properly engaging as specific vehicle has a manual transmission. Causing the vehicles RPM to go up higher then recommended.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Nissan versa. While driving various speeds, the check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle bucked and shuddered. The vehicle was taken to reed Nissan (3776 w. Colonial dr, orlando, fl) where it was diagnosed that an engine sensor was faulty. The sensor was replaced, but the bucking continued. Also, the vehicle would not accelerate above 30 MPH. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,000.

I bought this versa brand new at the dealership. After a year from the purchase date the dealer went out of business and was bought out. The first year I had it I came in often with transmission problems, but was told it was nothing and to give it more gas when it acted like it was having troubles. Everytime I went for an oil change, even my first oil change, they would come back with 600 dollars worth of filters or the brake fluid needed to be changed. I quit going there for my car, because of the constant pressure to spend money on issues I wasnt having. They never wanted to look at the transmission or anything. Now after 65k the transmission has been replaced, my running taillights do not work, some unknown electrical issue, and the car just turns off on it's own with no warning. Before

Having problem stopping my car in wet or snowy weather. Anti-lock breaks not working correctly. There is a recall for my year but when I do a search it says there are zero recalls for my vehicle. Transmission does nit shift properly.

While driving home from work a deer ran in front of my vehicle and at 62 MPH on a highway my car collided with a deer. As you will see the damage done to my car the car is a possible totaled vehicle. My concern was my air bags did not deploy on this kind of impact. I was told by Nissan they are not made to deploy upon impact buy only by the deceleration of my car. This does not seem to be accurate to me in the fact that it was over a 200 pound animal and my engine was pushed back into the firewall, lost my breaks in the road, and as you can see there is a lot of damage done to the care. I called Nissan to express my concern of this and they said it is normal and the air bags would have caused more damage to me then the impact. Seat belt light and air bag light never goes off even when after buckled in

Passenger air bag light goes on sometimes when passenger is in the seat. It should be off indicates passenger air bag will not work. It goes off after 2-3 miles it has been happening on and off for a year

I have a Nissan versa sl model, the trunk does not close properly. Everyday I have trouble closing the trunk of my car, the car makes a beeping sound alarming me that my trunk is open, I try closing it and it will not latch on. The only way I can close it, is if I have the car door open. So I close the trunk first, then I close the car door in order for my trunk to close. This is an issue and very annoying. Please recall the trunk latch.

The vehicle stopped suddenly in the middle of the street while being driven. The vehicle sometimes stalls when attempting to drive.

My skid mark symbol comes on, does not go off until 2or 3 days later. My Nissan will not accelerate over 20 miles per hour. I have had mu vehicle checked several times at the Grainger Nissan dealership several times within the past 4 years after they installed a new transmission. They found and corrected other issues, but not what causes the traction lights to come on and decrease speed causing me to have to use flashers and bike lanes where ever available until I get home. Independent mechanics have checked, knocked off traction light. It only comes on again. I have another mechanic at Precision Tune to check it out tomorrow. The last date of this occurrence was 12/ 08/2025

Ignition switch failure and key cannot be removed. Car can be difficult to shut off and steering wheel can be difficult to put into lock position. Safety concern with parking and leaving key in all the time (especially with small children).

Me and my family were inside the house and heard an explosion. We ran outside and noticed that the passenger side tire exploded and blew the tire well and fender off. The vehicle was just sitting in the yard. I called the ouachita parish sheriff's office. A deputy came out and determined that there was no criminal activity. I filed and auto insurance claim and have to wait up to 48 hours for a response.

Gas door release is immediately next to hood release with no distinguishing tactile differences. Hood release was accidentally pulled, along with gas door release. Car was driven from station and, after hitting bump in road, was released. Fortunately, speed wasn't great enough for the hood to fly back into windshield.
