The recall for my RAV4 was for the battery, and it may cause a fire. The safety of my family members and other families was affected by this fire. We are all displaced. My mom parked our car under our apartment, and 15 minutes later, the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The battery was replaced in 2019, and the rep told us of farmers that they can't confirm that the recall may be the root of the fire. I was told by the farmers rep that a certain battery is responsible for the fire. The car was parked and no lights were on.

The armrest above the center compartment between the driver and passenger has a light resistance to pressure. I was drive with my right arm resting on this and my wife needed to adjust her position in her seat. She leaned on the armrest and the armrest went sliding to the front and startled me. I had a 2014 avalon that had the same type armrest and never had a problem. The dealer looked at this and said all the rav4's are like this and they couldn't do anything. The indents for the front and back of the armrest should be stronger and not so temperamental. There should be a product improvement bulletin to correct this problem. *js
I have had this car for roughly 10 months. It was bought brand new. I have had to replace two windshields in that time. One was cracked in early october 2015 and replaced on november 7, 2015(lengthy due to replacement unavailability). The other happened on december 23,2015 and replaced on december 26,2015 both cracks were due to (what I consider) relatively small stone chips that happened while driving on interstate 90 near north east, pa. I have owned in excess of 15 vehicles in my 44 years of driving. I have never had to replace a windshield in any of the others (yes some repairs were done). I am questioning if the windshields in these cars are being manufactured to the same specifications as in the past and if not do they still meet the current safety standards.
After being parked in carport overnight on a winter night in dec 2017, I drove only a couple of miles down the I-15 freeway in utah between spanish fork and springville no more than 60 MPH when I heard a loud 'exploding sound' on the top of my car outside and then 'tinkling' noises from the front of the roof area to the back of the car. It happened at 0900 on a cold sunday morning and the traffic was extremely light. The nearest vehicles to me were at least 10 car lengths ahead and behind me and there were no vehicles on either side of me. There was no visible road hazard and no ice falling from anywhere since we had had no winter weather of any kind so far that season. When I was able to stop and examine the damage, there was a giant hole in the middle of my moon/sun roof. I

I own a White 2015 Rav4 Limited. I bought it used in 2019. I am emailing today due to the issue, like many other RAV4 and other white Toyota vehicles - the paint is peeling. A small piece started to peel at the end of last winter. It has peeled larger in the past month. In the past two weeks with high winds, two larger portions peeled off the front hood and drivers side rear door. This is a total of three different areas on the vehicle.
The roof rack that came with the rav4 states that each strut can hold 100lbs, but in the manual it states that it is 100 lbs total. I purchased some lumber and my roof rack failed on the return trip home. I believe it happened when I was driving on the highway. One side of each strut broke and dented the roof of my car. If the other side of the struts failed there would have been some devastation behind me as lumber and roof rack parts would have flown off behind me. I do not know the exact weight of the lumber, but based on the quantity I purchased I can assume it weighed around 110-120 lbs. If I knew that it couldn't handle 200lbs like I was LED to believe, I would have easily put one board or all of them in the car instead of the roof rack. I would also assume that Toyota would have som
Sunroof exploded while driving 45 MPH on a one lane country road - no car was in front of me at the time. Occurred at 11:00 am and outside temps were 43 degrees.

The car significantly accelerates when backing out of the garage. When stopped for a red light it is eager to go if the brakes are not depressed very firmly and between 20 and 40 miles per hour it shifts into a higher gear with unintended acceleration. It has also done this when once going up a hill at 39 miles per hour. It feels dangerous to me when I am approaching a stop sign and it chooses to accelerates unless I am braking long before the sign. The can was examined by the deaqlership 2 times and "nothing was found". I then contacted someone in Toyota's colorado administrative office. This person took a computer apparatus attached it to my car, we test drove it around and they determined it does automatically shift into 5th gear during these acceleration times. The car feels uns

This is concerning a recall. NHTSA recall No. 23V-734. Which can has a potential for vehicle fire. The remedy will not be available to mid 2024. This is a long time to drive a vehicle like this with such a high safety risk. I have reached out to Toyota and they have refused to do anything about it such as provide a loaner vehicle while they rectify the issue. My life and my families life is at risk driving this vehicle .
powertrain 1 complaint shown
The car is equipped with an automatic transmission. It rolls back on the slope when the brake is released. Rolling back continues until the brake is pressed again. This happens while the transmission is in "drive". It rolls back usually when the car is driven at the low speed with frequent turns. Irvine autonation Toyota lead technician marco stated that it is normal for some cars with a certain transmission (760ae?). He demonstrated with another rav4. That car rolled back also until the brake is pressed while the transmission was in "drive". Problem is it doesn't roll back always. I expect the car would not roll back while it's in "drive". It would hit the car behind if I don't press the brake fast enough or press the gas pedal fast enough. It acts like a manual transmission rat
