When I started my car, the engine jumped and the car shook. I tried to drive it but couldn't get more than 10 feet without it constantly feeling like it was both starting and stalling, and rocking back and forth. I had to park it, and even when completely stopped the car would shake and the engine made a terrible noise. My car started to smell really bad. The dealership tells me that it is a coil failure in the engine, which caused complete engine failure and left me stranded.

Very rough idle/dangerous loss of power electronic power control light illuminates. Car develops issue in 2 instances, will idle smoothly at rest and then epc light will illuminate and very rough idle will ensue with entire car shaking. Car must be shutoff and restarted to correct. Once restarted car will idle normally and light is off. Second issue is with car at load, driving normal speeds when epc light will come on and engine power is dramatically reduced making for extremely hazardous condition if pulling out or accelerating in traffic. Sudden loss of power can only be resolved if safe place available to pullover and restart the car. Vw dealer says they can only repair car if it displays behavior at shop. Since light is off when restarted it is not running poorly when driven in fo
Thermostat housing & associated seals on the current 1.8l and 2.0l Volkswagen/Audi ea888 gen 3 engine are prone to failure, causing loss of engine coolant. This could affect any vw/Audi vehicle using the 1.8 or 2.0l ea888 gen 3 engine. Vw has a long history of water pump/thermostat housing issues and the current generation of vehicles is no exception. Many other reports can be found on various online forums such as reddit.com, golfmk7.com and vwvortex.com, etc. This is a costly out of warranty repair requiring removal of the intake manifold and has been reported online by owners of 2015 '2019 us my vehicles. Some vehicles, such as ours, experienced a repeat failure. There are three failure modes that I am aware of as reported on the sites mentioned above. My wife and I have experien

The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen Golf. The contact noticed that the fuel pump would frequent stop while fueling the vehicle. The contact then stated that while his vehicle was being driven by a valet, fuel began to pour out of the fuel tank while on an incline. The valet attendant managed to drive the vehicle down a decline which stopped the leak. Despite the failure, the contact was able to drive the vehicle home. The vehicle was then driven to a dealer where a diagnostic test was performed. The dealer informed the contact that the suction pump, seal, and emission filter needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V647000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manuf
Loss of coolant due to cheap plastic housing leads to damage to the thermostat and water pump. Researching the forums on this issue has shown that it's a common problem with the vehicle that Volkswagen hasn't addressed.

We purchased our VW Golf TDI ([XXX]) in January 2015 and have now had to replace the clock spring three times. The first two times were covered under the 69L2 limited warranty(See attached bills) but our car now has 128,000 miles and is considered ineligible. We do not understand why our model year was not included under the unlimited warranty extension as part of the 69L2 campaign. When a major component fails three times over a six year period, there is obviously something wrong with it that has not been addressed. Our teenage son drives the car and it is unsafe to have life-saving components like the airbag and horn fail on a regular basis. Vehicle randomly displays message on hud screen "error: service vehicle. Only leave vehicle in p position" I have only ever had it happen while driving. Everything from 10mph to 80mph. No particular speed seems to trip the error. After a long drawn out ordeal, both the local dealer and vw of america have denied repair even though, this exact issue because it is not included in the 33,168 select Volkswagen golfs and golf sportwagens from 2015 to 2018 model years. Yet with all the evidence to include the ECU/TCU logs verifying the problem since its not a "affected" VIN, they will do nothing. The local dealer confirm that this is the exact issue we have been dealing with since july of this year. Most recently I was going through the pharmacy drive-thru and in park when the vehicle began t
Vehicle is intermittently showing error 'error: service vehicle, leave only on p'. Error happens randomly, but usually during or just after driving in wet conditions. Always while the vehicle is in motion. Gear shift assembly was replaced two years previously to address the problem, but now the errors are back. Same symptoms as campaign number 18v464000, vw service recall 37l5, however no recall is listed for this VIN.

Rust on fuel filter housing discovered during 60k mile fuel filter change of 2015 golf tdi (see photo). Told this can lead to potential major damage to high pressure fuel pump if particles come off. Only use high-quality diesel so not sure how this happened.
Suction pump recall was completed by Karmart the dealership I purchased the vehicle from. Suction pump continues to be an issue with fuel purging or leaking. This has been an ongoing issue for the past 5 months. Most recently a few days ago.

Clock spring failure in the steering wheel disabled airbag of 2015 golf.
I smelled a strong odor coming from the heater that turned out to be burnt plastic and wiring associated with the auxiliary heater. This is an obvious fire/ smoke hazard that could have been deadly if other nearby components caught fire.

Sirs: I am reporting TWO issues: One: My car should have been included in the recall campaign for rear coil spring fracture that other 2015 Golfs have experienced. I had to pay to replace fractured rear coil springs myself, last year. Two: Volkswagen has made it impossible for me to get ANY recall performed, including the suction fuel pump recall. After I filed a 1 star review for the utter failure of the Ithaca NY VW dealer to repair my brakes in late October 2021, the service manager retaliated. He called and assailed me with four letter language. Afterward, I made an appointment with another local VW dealer AT RANDOM, and one I had never done business with. Before I could identify myself or my VIN number this second dealer proceded to accuse me of being a deadbeat who does

Steering column control mechanism, air bag sensor, lock mechanism. Saw an article posted last week about previous recall not resolving a know issue with airbags that affects the steering column. I just had to pay $641.10 to have this repaired. If this is something that vw should have had to pay for I would love to be able to recoup my money.
