The 2016 silverado has a programming issue for the transmission. When I drive under a load going up a hill it chugs like I have a miss fire issue. The programming is set so it stays in the highest gear for to long when driving in city conditions. It stays in 6th gear going 25-30mph and when you need the throttle. The transmission can't decide which gear to be in. On two different occasions I went to pull out of a side road onto a main road and the truck fell flat on its face like I hit a kill switch and it all most caused me to get t-boned. I hit the throttle multiple times before it decided it was going to 100% throttle and have me going out sideways onto the main road. I have taken it to the dealer and they have confirmed it to be a programming issue, but there is no fix from gm and the

12/29/2017 16,000 mi ODI #11057434.0

Transmission shudder occurred at highway speeds in september 2017. Gm technicians said they could not find it. Shudder spread to all speeds - especially at low speeds going uphill. Truck would lurch forward from gear to gear and generally run with a constant vibration. In december 2017 gm technician replicated the problem and diagnosed it as a malfunctioning torque converter. I am now waiting for the new parts to see if the problem is fixed. The truck had no transmission shudder problems for the 1st 12 months I owned it.

The brakes build up pressure when pushed multiple times causing the brakes to not engage and properly stop the vehicle. They get so tight you have to put all weight and force possible in them to stop. I've called multiple dealerships and even called gm directly and after investigation they say they could not simulate the issue and its not a known issue. I have found numerous reports on this and it was very easy to find as a known issue amongst gm owners.

Brake pedal gets extremely hard and feels like maybe ABS tries to activate at times. Usually after pushing brake pedal a couple times in traffic or parking lots. I've almost driven into other vehicles and a building while pulling into a parking spot now several times. Today while coasting downhill toward a stop light I almost couldn't stop at the light! The truck, a 2016 silverado only has 57k miles on it. Hopefully the power train warranty will cover whatever is going on. I'm calling the dealership first thing in the morning

Vehicle loses most to all of the pressure in the brake pedal at slower speeds or if coasting (foot off the accelerator) for short periods. Braking becomes extremely difficult and stopping distance drastically increases. Service brakes message comes on while in traffic as well, but only as a service notice, not a warning. This as been on going since january 2017, but has gotten dramatically worse over the past several months. This happens when driving through city's in traffic and parking lots at slow speed. No accident to report, but too many near misses to count. Yesterday was the latest event. On the interstate, in traffic traveling 0-15 MPH, it took a solid 5 feet or more to stop the vehicle from 10 MPH to zero while pressing the brake pedal with both feet. I was not towing anything and

When applying break pressure at slow speeds let's say under 10mph. If breaks are pressed repeatedly all break force is lost and break pedal becomes very hard. Breaks do not become useable until you begin to accelerate. This occurred while in stop and go traffic and while in parking is lots.

Vehicle was stationary, in driveway of residence, running after being started with remote start. Temperature outside was about 35f. Front and rear window defrosters typically come on when the vehicle is remote started in the winter months. Rear window of truck has three separate panes, the two outer panes are stationary and the middle slides opens via a switch in the overhead console. All windows in vehicle were closed. I was standing beside the vehicle when there was a loud cracking sound and small pieces of the rear window pane behind the driver fell to the ground. The window continued to make a cracking sounds for several minutes after the initial sound. There is a slight smell of electrical wire burning inside the vehicle very close to the bottom left side of the damaged pane

Cold weather (25-30 degrees?) on 12/24, so remote started truck and began driving (rear defroster auto starts). Heard slight sizzle noise, but couldn't figure out what it was...then wife (riding in back) heard it get worse, then a little smoke, then rear-window on driver side popped/cracked/shattered (truck has a sliding rear window, so 3 sections). Didn't blow out, but is completely shattered. Taped it to keep pieces from blowing apart. Talked to dealer and gm customer care, and they advised of an open customer satisfaction program for this issue, but it only applies to vehicles in certain states (cold weather)...including mi, but I'm 1 hour south in northern in. #n192265660-01 is the program number (rear window defroster thermal events - us only _(mar 25, 2020). I turned on the rear defrost to the vehicle. Within about 30 seconds, I saw smoke rising from the center part of the rear window as if the defroster had started a fire. I immediately turned the rear defrost off and the smoke ceased. Within a mater of seconds, the right panel of the rear window popped very loudly as it shattered, presumably from the fire. I was driving on a rural road when this occurred. I do have a power rear window on the vehicle and there is a recall already in canada for Chevrolet silverado's of my model year with the rear power window having fires started by the rear defroster.
