2016 Chevrolet Tahoe owner complaints

While pulling up to the drive thru window to pick up our food, at very low speed, vehicle would not stop had put all of my body weight on brake pedal to get it to stop and avoid hitting car in front of us.

When driving at low speed (parking lots i.e.) brakes don’t work properly and the brake assist message pops up on dash, it only happens at very low speed

When driving at slow speeds, particularly to park, the brakes did not work. You can put the pedal to the floor and the vehicle keeps going. This only occurs when at a slower speed, in both drive and reverse. I have taken it to a mechanic and the vacuum pump has to be replaced. This is very dangerous and could have caused an accident, as I almost hit another car because I couldn't stop.

We took a family vacation to ny and almost died because our brakes went out. If you research 100's of people have had their 2016 tahoe brake pump fail. I am also experience my car jerking. I am beyond myself that a recall hasn't been issued because I am getting ready to go pay for a part that is faulty. You want to make this recall fast or people will die. You cannot have your brakes go out like that!! I didn't spend $50k on a cash less than 2 years ago for my family to die.

I am experiencing loss of brake booster function at low speeds. I have read about the vacuum pump and the conditions match exactly

Just recently got my brakes re-programmed and immediately they continued not to function correctly. The warning lights don't come on but they still do not stop in time. In a parking lot I could not stop and hit a sign in front of the parking space. Will Chevrolet fix the damage caused by my car. Also noted in a drive-through cannot get stopped in time when trying to follow cars. And it backing down a hill at slower speeds car will not stop. Brakes just shake when you try to push them. Thinking of getting an attorney because I need someone to fix my car now

-body- hood paint defect (aluminum oxidation) -brakes- vehicles doesn't stop and brakes get hard to push, and they also feel like they are skipping. -power train- brakes and transmission shifts hard from time to time. -electronics- DVD and rear inverter 110 a/c plug power went out, and cell phone charger doesn't work. -seats- get stuck and won't go up or down at times. Forward and side collision warning - will alert when nothing is there.

I bought my Tahoe from Dan Vaden Chevrolet in Savannah, GA with approx 58k miles. At around 88k miles I noticed the transmission hesitated when putting into reverse or drive from the park position. I had my transmission fluid changed at 70k and 100k miles. Now, at 112k miles, it has significantly gotten worse with shuddering between gears 1-3 and jerking when in reverse. Major hesitation when accelerating at any speed and high pitched whining noises that randomly happen, even after putting it in park and turning it off. Also, my ABS and Stabilitrak lights will illuminate and then go off every few days. As well as another random icon that randomly comes and goes. This Tahoe is now unsafe to drive but it’s the only transportation I have. I already missed a radiator replacement recall by 1,50

Service stabilitrak, stabilitrak initializing, steering assist reduced drive with caution, and park assist off are all dash errors on 2016 Chevy tahoe that dealer is unable to fix after several attempts and costly repairs which resulted in full control of vehicle driving on highway and roads. Steering tightens, ABS braking affected and traction is reduced when vehicle is in motion.

On two separate occasions I have lost control of the vehicle. The first time I was turning and thought maybe I hit a slick spot on the road but the same thing did not happen to other cars. The second time I was driving straight on a secondary road and out of nowhere the car started sliding like it was on ice but the brakes and steering were non functional. I could turn the wheel and press the brakes but nothing happened. There was no indication that there were any issues with the car, no alarms or messages came up before, during, or after the incidents. I was very lucky in both instances in that there were no oncoming cars. This has been extremely terrifying and I refuse to drive the car anymore. Heaven forbid my children or anyone else had been in the car.

Driving down the freeway at 75 mph and the headlight started flickering any time I would use my blinker. 5 minutes later the car automatically breaks hard all by itself along with the dash lights going off and the doors locking and unlocking. 3 days later driving in town taking a hard left suddenly I get alerts on the dashboard saying, "parking assist off" and "stabilitrak" then suddenly my steering wheel JERKS VIOLENTLY all the way to the right. This happened 2x when I am driving!!! It is available for inspection upon request. If this steering wheel malfunction happens to someone driving down an interstate someone could die. It just happened yesterday so I have not gotten it in to be looked at yet. There was zero warning it all happens suddenly and out of nowhere.

Near collision with pedestrian in crosswalks on left turns and near collision with pedestrians crossing multi lane roads who entering from a landscaped center island. I have repeatedly experienced this situation even though I am acutely aware of the view obstruction created by the large A-pillar, air bag and drivers side mirror. It has become evident from the incidents in my neighborhood that trucks and SUV's are involved in the fatalities at crosswalks and multi lane roadways. An recent fatality occurred on December 10 2022 in Poway at the intersection of Midland and Edgmoore Rd. 35yr old women killed in crosswalk by driver making left turn. The January 24th 2022 fatality happened on Community Rd. in Poway 92064. It would appear your forms are incident focused and not geared to ident

Very poor coating on frame. Coating peels and flakes off, even on a lightly used vehicle. After coating peels off the frame and components begins to rust.

I’ve had my struts repaired and they still squeak and the truck bounced all over the road. There is a defect with the struts

2016 Tahoe with 57,000 miles. All 4 of the shocks are locked up. The truck bumps very hard with no give making control at high speeds dangerous. This problem is known to Chevrolet if you look at the reviews but nothing is done to recall or fix. Instead they expect the customer to discover it and pay $4,000 to replace. I discovered because of bad situation on the highway. Are they going to wait until someone is killed? Chevrolet should not only replace them in recall but should pay all customer back for their costs.

When driving the dash panel all arrows go to zero, disconnects cruise and just about everything else on your list above. We have had it to the dealer many times over three months and I am concerned that when the system drops out my safety devices that it says check will not work if I’m in a collision.The list is to long to list. Our local Chevrolet dealer is George Nahas in the Villages Florida. Please help

I purchased a brand new 2016 Chevy tahoe last year. It has approx 47,000 miles on it this far. The air conditioner began blowing hot air. I have place two cans of refrigerate in the system in less than one week. I can not identify any leaks. I spoke with the dealership and they have voiced I would have to pay for diagnostic procedures and repair. I believe that is unfair considering I have not damaged the vehicle. The vehicle is only one year old and is having a/c problems. I have kids and live in a southern state that has 100 degree weather in the summer months. I believe I deserve answer at least!!!!!!

Its seems that the ABS computer stopped working and the break and traction control assist also.
