While driving, my 2016 Chrysler 200 (3.6L V6) experienced a sudden and complete electrical failure. All systems shut down simultaneously, including the dashboard, engine, power steering assist, and electrical accessories. The vehicle coasted to a stop and would not restart—no crank, no dash lights, no response. After allowing the vehicle to cool for approximately 30–45 minutes, electrical power returned and the vehicle restarted normally. This failure mode is identical to the Power Distribution Center (PDC) connector defect that resulted in a recall for the 2015 Chrysler 200. My vehicle is the same platform with the same component architecture, yet no recall exists for the 2016 model year. This is a serious safety defect that creates a risk of crash, loss of steering assist, and loss of ve

Airbag light has came on with dealership replacing the wiring harness under the seat twice. The light is now on for a third time. After online forum research, I learned that wiggling the wiring connections can get the connection back and airbag light to go away. It worked. Numerous complaints of loose wiring. Purchased the vehicle brand new currently with 125k miles. First repair was free. Second was out of warranty and I had to pay for parts.
Vehicle went in for an airbag light twice right before the extended warranty expired at 75k miles. The dealership claims to have replaced a wiring harness under the passenger seat both times. Just slightly over 75k miles, the light came on again. This time they advised the whole wiring system needs replaced and that it won't be covered. Got in touch with Chrysler directly who stated they are willing to only pay for the $1200+ part but that I would be responsible for approximately $400 in labor. Vehicle was in motion each time the light came on. Typically when encountering a slight bump on the interstate. The sensor that is under the passenger seat, signalling that an individual is sitting in the seat, has needed to be replaced by the dealership twice now as a connection becomes loose and will dis-attach. This will alert my car to service airbags

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician added freon but the failure recurred. The car first started off with the screen turning on and off while driving..we didn't think much of it however a few month ago the car began to turn off in the midst of driving. Before turing off the car would begin to yank as if resisting. We proceeded with purchasing a new battery. That was 4 month ago. We are now here 12/2018 and the car has once again started to yank while driving, turn off when going 10-40 MPH and now has the check engine, traction and voltage light flashing. Once it is turned off and turned back on after a few mins. It's as if nothing ever happened. All this happened while driving in city street and turning.

The contact owned a 2016 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact was made aware by another driver that flames were emanating from underneath the vehicle, prompting her to pull to the shoulder of the roadway. Upon exiting the vehicle became completely engulfed in flames. Local emergency services arrived and were able to extinguish the flames. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the contact insurance provider. A fire report was filed. A police report was filed, and no injuries were reported. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
During acceleration, thick white smoke began to come out tail pipe. Car instantly turns off in the middle of the street in rush hour traffic while I had my 4 year old daughter in the car. Police threatened to impound car if not moved immediately. Had to pay a hefty tow fee twice to get the car to the dealership. Somehow oil and coolant had mixed together in the engine. Dealer said I’ll need a completely new engine. I’ll have to pay 1600 to get a diagnosis of the “exact” problem once they tear down the engine. At that point warranty company will come out to see IF they can help. I was quoted a possible 12,000 job. I’ve had this car for 7 months and had done all routine work since. I’m so hurt smh
My car makes this loud noise when the engine is on and the coolant meter reaches one bar on the screen and I don't know exactly where the noise is coming from but its not normal. Took it to a mechanic and he told me its not a problem the car is suppose to make that noise but I don't really believe him. That noise is very loud

When decelerating at either a red light or to turn, car will completely shut off with no warnings or check engine lights. This started almost a month ago. Then today everything locked up. All electrical lights came on along with the check engine light. There was no power when trying to get the vehicle back home. It should have been towed.

As I was driving about 40mph and slowing down for a stop sign, the engine died out. Locking my brakes and my steering wheel. At this very moment the gear d was blinking on the dash and telling me to put the vehicle in park. The vehicle was disables and the ignition would not start the car until after several minutes and multiple attempts. This has occurred a total of 5 times in the last 2 weeks. This is very dangerous if it occurred while I'm on the freeway or in the middle of an intersection.

The car will not shift into park. Have had the problem “fixed” twice and still continues to happen. It will say “ Vehicle Not in Park Engage Park Brake to Prevent Rolling”
I took my 2016 Chrysler and it had 66,000 miles and they told me that the oil cooler was out and it was a known repair to the vehicle and I've been smelling like oil burning through the air vents on the car and they told me that they wouldn't cover it but I asked him I said well you say you repair these and it's unknown problem with these cars that the oil cooler fails and it leaks in the valley pan underneath the engine so you may not see the league for an extended period and you may not know it's even leaking until it builds up so heavy underneath that valley p.m. Under the engine and you may be completely out of oil in the car running without oil getting bad gas mileage my car is a 2016 Chrysler 200 s v6 3.6
steering 2 complaints shown
Car has shut off while driving last few weeks. It happened. As soon as I turned onto a road, going 20-30 MPH, it has happened while trying to merge onto the freeway. The car just stalls, says "place in p to start" and then dies. The gearshift and wheel lock up and you have to turn the car off and attempt to restart. Each time I had to try at least 3 times to get the car restarted. All lights come on dash, battery light included, but had battery checked and it is fine. Trying to restart, it doesn't want to turn over. This has happened with several cars behind me and have almost been rear ended because of it. Took it to the dealship but, all they told me to do was track my oil changes but, the problem still remains.
The car has to much torque that the vehicle slides and loses control and almost caused an accident. The steering is to lose when I turn it moves to quick and the movement of the vehicle can't catch up.

airbags 1 complaint shown
For about 30k miles now my service airbag light is on. Chrysler wants to charge $100 to look at it and then charge much, much more to "fix" the airbags. Why are airbags that have never been deployed not always covered under a warranty? I have been told by a third party tech that the airbags will not deploy with this light on. This problem is widely known and Chrysler seems to think our safety is not worth covering this issue.
