2016 Dodge Dart owner complaints

The shifter cable. It is not available for inspection at no cost through any dealership I have contacted through the FCA. This can cause an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of park function and/or vehicle movement in an unintended direction which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside of the vehicle. I received a letter notification of this recall A0C/NHTSA 25v-674, which applies to my vehicle. Dodge stated that the remedy for this condition is not currently available. The vehicle has not been inspected after the recall was issued. There were no warnings, messages or any symptoms.

Reverse camera malfunction shows upside down and flashes in and out of frame

Emissions Recall U90 Catalyst Efficiency this recall was never addressed on my Dodge Dart.

Car stalled while driving on a on ramp to the freeway. I pulled over and tried to start it. It sounded like it was trying to turn over by itself for a good 10 seconds. When it restarted, after releasing the break my car thrust forward. Then started to spuber like it wanted to stall again. At that time 3 lights came on on the dash... The check engine, stabilization and another I've never seen. Was real close to a Dodge dearer where I bearly made it to. When I asked the person about the tigris light coming on he told me 'that means get it in asap! Something seriously wrong is with the vehicle.' the car has just over 30k miles and I know it's still under warranty.

The backup camera constantly fails. The possibility of a blackout screen due to the poor connection to the camera keep increasing.

Vehicle has had issues from about 1300 miles . The car will randomly shut off while driving with no warning signs and has a hard time restarting , if it will restart. The car has been back to the dealer several times and diagnosed and they can not find the anything in the computer system or figure out whats wrong . I was told be the dealer that it is acceptable for the car to consume up to 1 quart of oil every thousand miles or so . The only information I was given is that it is a known oil problem and that fca (Fiat Chrysler automotive) is not willing to do anything about the matter . On December 13, 2021 my 2016 Dodge Dart shut down while driving and would not start back up. Had it towed to a repair shop, they could not duplicate the problem. I contacted Chrysler and the agent who helped me said there is no known issues with this particular vehicle. I found at that was a lie with a little google search. Picked my vehicle up and immediately took it to the Dodge dealership. They checked the oil level and it was so low that the tech said that if it would have been driven much longer it would have completely disabled the engine. No oil light, oil was changed recently, no reason for this to have happened. Found out there was a campaign to update software to the PCM module so that was completed along with an oil change. 2.4-liter tigershark engine Chrysler Dodge automotives routinely overconsume oil, causing costly maintenance. The oil overconsumption also leads to low oil pressure, triggering a defect in the affected Dodge dart vehicle to spontaneously shut off while in operation. This can occur in the middle of intersections or even on the freeway. Vehicle has no indicator to show actual remaining oil life to warn drivers of potentially sudden shut down. This has created an unsafe driving hazards. This is the second Chrysler product I have had the same problem. Tl* the contact owns a 2016 Dodge dart. In october of 2016, while driving 25 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (napleton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 1460 e osceola pkwy, kissimmee, fl 34744) where it was diagnosed that there was inadequate oil in the vehicle during production, which caused the sensor to shut the vehicle down. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. While driving 40 MPH, the oil indicator was flashing. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where a compression test was completed. The dealer diagnosed that the oil was evaporating and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and denied the claim. Multiple times 4 to be exact my vehicle has shut down while driving with no warning. This seems to be an issue with many of these from my research. Once I was getting on an expressway and was almost hit another time was turning on a busy street almost being hit luckily I was not. The first time this happened I had the car about 3 months after purchasing new. The last time it happened was this september. The dealership has done nothing and says they know it happens but nothing they can do for it. Are they waiting for someone to be killed before dealing with this issue ?

Turn signals day time lights keep burning

On a city street, tried to accelerate at a stop light with the brake on. Would not accelerate turning left in oncoming traffic.intermittenly (hops) in motion exiting a highway, upon braking I traffic, stopped at a traffic light and in the driveway with the key removed. Tachometer has redlined (6500 RPM + ) moving in traffic at 46 MPH on level road and upon take off from a red light. Tachometer has revved to 5500 RPM's on the down side of a hill when on cruse control multiple times when on the highway. The car has jerked severely driving down the highway at approximately 70 MPH.intermittently the climate control has difficulty in making a decision on the selection I made and has taken approximately 5 min before the air ( fan ) will engage. All the lights in the vehicle vent out, the digital dashboard the touch screen everything that lights up went out. The motor almost died and started to sputter. When I accelerate it has no power then it will take off then no power. When I am stopped the idle is so low it almost dies and the entire car shakes very hard. This started while I was driving at about 30 MPH.

Regarding the rear back up camera, the camera is a vital tool for us, the vehicle was literally one month out of manufacturer warranty and it went out. Then we went to our local dealership for a service and asked the service writer if they could repair the camera under warranty and without even looking in the computer he quickly responded that we would have to pay out of pocket, is the camera not a safety device? I really wish dealerships would stand behind their products.

The contact also stated that the washer fluid low warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 16v813000 (visibility) but the failure recurred. The vehicle was serviced at arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram ft. Pierce located at 5851 s us highway 1, fort pierce, fl 34982(855) 709-0687. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to have the failure diagnosed at a Dodge dealer. The contact stated that an appointment was scheduled with the dealer. The failure mileage was 68,000.

At 61000 miles my Dodge dart sxt has a service airbag system alarm pop up. I contacted two dealerships but they said there was no recall or open warranty for this. As it's airbags, a safety issue I pushed the subject a little harder with Dodge themselves and they said the same thing. Safety in my opinion should be first, and upon further research this has happened quite a bit to other Dodge dart owners from 2013 to present with little to know knowledge why. Vehicle sits in my bark parked area and is driven very little so shouldn't actively have issues like this occur.

Their were poisonous fumes coming out of the heater, coolant, and radio speaker systems, the vehicle burned too much gas, their was no acceleration in long distance {in ref to: a seaside university section 8 housing survey}, the dealership wouldn't offer diagnostic and warranty service; after I gave them alot of money they told me not to come back to their lot; I gave them the car back; and told the judges to tell them to return all the money I gave them back into my bank account: king county superior court case # 17-2-24602-6 sea filed in seattle.

Anti-lock brake system service light comes on and off as well as the traction control light. The antilock brake system is not working at all and skid control doesn't work either. Brakes are hard to push often and vehicle is more and more reluctant to stop. The vehicle is always in motion. Stearing is harder when the vehicle slows or stops also. The issue began at the same time as the antilock brake issue. Check engine light also came on. All lights where cleared at my last service but came back on immediately from leaving the dealership I serviced it at. I have kids I transport in this vehicle and failing brakes under 90000 miles is a big deal. Approximate mileage is 83000.

The car dies (stalls, doesn't run, etc.) while driving.. Or when stopped, or whenever it wants. It will restart and then drive for a while and then die again. The check engine light didn't even come on after several stalls but eventually it coded with p2172 which is "throttle actuator control system - sudden high airflow detected". The car is being towed (as of this writing) to the selling dealer larry miller Dodge in peoria az for service. Personal note: the manufacturer/dealer should buy this car back... It's had 2 recalls (one for the windshield wiper motor and another for the entire engine to be replaced) and already had the a/c replaced.
