Purchased the car around 40k miles. Did all the maintenance required for 3-4 years with it now at 98k miles. On the evening near Christmas eve as i was at the red light making a right turn i heard clank from the bottom of my engine, then metal pieces were falling off to the ground. Smoke was coming out from the engine, with the oil pressure illuminating light on. I pulled over to see a trail of oil, while looking under I saw a big whole on the bottom of the engine block. Good thing it didn't happened when I was driving at a higher speed and I was by myself vs having my kids with me. Geico would not cover my blown engine, and ford knows this is a known issue referring to "Ecoboom" but i no longer have warranty with them. Car has been sitting at the shop pending 6500 to have the engine repla

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with a cylinder #3 misfire, and that the spark plugs, coil pack, vacuum sensor, and engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred two days later. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the coolant level was low and there was coolant leaking into cylinder #3, and the engine needed to be replaced again. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 79,575.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed start. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the valve had fallen into the engine, and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 139,766.
After having the car for 5 months (59,000 mi) the engine blew up while driving 60mph on a state highway and dropped all of its oil. The ecoboost mustangs are incredibly prone to this issue and Ford is just sweeping them under the rug. Ford had my car for 4 months when it was misfiring (which is how "ecoboom" begins) and replaced almost everything under the powertrain warranty minus the engine, transmission and turbocharger. When I got the car back it started to jump timing then misfire then all of a sudden it stopped. Then the engine blew up.

Noticed seat heaters stopped working then noticed a smell coming from passenger seat. Found harness that plugs into the seat heater control module was melted.
While coming to a stop with the clutch pressed in the car will randomly turn off intermittently. This has now just began happening, although it has now happened to me twice in 1 months time. I have also been reading on s550 mustang forums (years 2015 - present) that I am not the only one experiencing this. It seems like an electrical issue or something as there are people with completely stock cars that are affected by this, and also people with 2018+ newer mustangs as well.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 Ford mustang. While starting the vehicle with the air conditioner on, vapors entered the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to (fairway Ford, 2323 laurens road, greenville, sc 29607) where it was diagnosed that the evaporator coil failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 35,600.
Seat warmer quit working. Upon inspection by mechanic, it was determined that the seat heater module shorted at module; melted connector. (owner also reported could smell an 'electrical burn' scent after using remote start where the seat warmer is automatically set.)
Smoke came up from under both seats within a few weeks of each other, found burned harness and plug at both heated/ cooled seat control modules mounted under seats. Researched and found a fix that will cost hundreds of $$ per seat but no recalls. I would think smoke and burning electrical in the interior of nearly ALL Ford products with heated/ cooled seats would be a safety recall?

Vehicle was on the highway going 70+ MPH, passenger door suddenly came loose and started getting passenger door ajar lights and you could hear wind passing into the car. Thankfully the passenger was holding the door at the time so it did not fully open. Vehicle has been repaired.*dt*jb
The rear deck "gt" emblem broke on my new car and fell off. I returned it to the dealership to have it replaced because it is a new vehicle and still under warranty. The emblem was replaced as well as the back deck lid and the reverse camera because it is all one piece. As I left I noticed that the new deck lid did not seal properly and water could get in my trunk so I returned to the service shop. At that time I was told by an associate that an update was made to the service manual and a new "bumper pad" was required to be added under the deck lid that was preventing it from closing properly. I told them it was unacceptable and it needed to be fixed. They continued to explain it was a factory change and was corrected exactly how it was supposed to be according to the new manual updates. T
I purchased my dream car from autonation of fremont/ Honda. I drove 90 minutes from my house purchase the shelby. Upon arrival, I met with [xxx], supervisor in sales. Before signing documents, the purchase price of the car was advertised at 45,900. [xxx] indicated the price was advertised wrong and was at 47,500. [xxx] stated to make up the price difference, he was going to tint the windows and add paint protection. Last month I attempted to make a claim last month for the swirl marks and fading on bumpers and brembo brakes. Well, autonation indicated I did not have the paint protection warranty. I have attempted to contact mo, and [xxx], general sales manager of autonation, no response. There are other complaints, but this is what put it over the top. During signing of the contrac

On 12/06/2025 I filled the vehicle with gasoline. As I was driving home I noticd a strong odor of gasoline. When I arrived home I parked the car in my carport. A short time later I went outside and noticed that I could still smell gasoline and I looked under the car, which was approximately 3 feet from my house and saw a puddle under it. This could have caused a fire, so I immediately took the car to a repair shop. Approximately one hour later I received a call from the shop informing me that the tank was broken at the top and it would cost approximately $2,600 to replace the tank. The problem was confirmed by Gemba Automotive, Surprise, AZ. I am unaware of whether they have the part available for inspection. There were no warning messages or lights displayed on the driver informati

While driving down a city street the engine will shutdown with no warnings. You start losing speed but all the rest of the dash lights and electric power steering continue to work. This causes a very unsafe condition where other people could run into the back of the car. As of 12/17/2018 I have took the at back to the dealership three times where the first time they replaced the electronic throttle body then with in three day the engine shutdown going down the street again. The second time the car was took back to the dealership the power control module was reprogrammed and within three day the engine shutdown again going down the street several times. As of 12/17/2018 the car was took back to the dealership and I was told that they had to verify for themselves that the car was doing t
airbags 1 complaint shown
Steering wheel airbag did not deploy in a high speed crash. The knee airbag DID deploy. My daughter was in an accident with another vehicle. The other vehicle was traveling about 40 mph. It was a very high impact crash that launched by daughters car about 30 feet. The steering wheel airbag did not deploy. As a result my daughter hit her and and received a severe concussion. She was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle is in the process of being classified as "totaled" by insurance company but they have not inspected the specific airbag issue. There were no warning lamps or messages indicating the airbag was non-functional.

Right rear turn signals and break lights occasionally fail to work. Turning the car off and on 3-4 times temporarily resolved the issue but eventually this temporary fix failed and I was told the entire rear tail light assembly would need to be replaced. An alternative to this total replacement might be found in Ford Special Service Message 47429 where Ford will reprogram the body control module which supposedly corrects the issue.
