I received a safety recall notice in October 2025 for my 2016 Ford Taurus SHO regarding a defect involving the rear backup camera system. As of today, there are still no parts available to correct this issue. I have contacted the manufacturer and authorized dealers multiple times and have been informed that there is currently no estimated timeline for when the required parts will be available. The rear backup camera is a critical safety feature intended to prevent collisions with pedestrians, objects, and other vehicles while reversing. Since receiving the recall notice, I have experienced multiple close calls while backing up, which I believe are directly related to this unresolved defect. This creates an ongoing safety concern for myself, pedestrians, and other drivers. Despite being n

REAR-VIEW CAMERA DISPLAY - I recently learned of Safety Recall Notice 25S89 / NHTSA Recall 25V572. My 2016 Ford Taurus has been exhibiting the same camera issue display as described in recall notice number provided. It's been doing this for at least 5 or more years. However, when reviewing the details and models being recalled, I noticed the Ford Taurus is not included. The Taurus should be included in the recall.

I was approaching a very busy intersection and when I applied my brakes the car actually accelerated. I was able to stop before hitting the vehicle in front of me. I proceeded about a mile down the road and as I was turning into a strip mall the vehicle suddenly accelerated again. This time out of control. I when through the turn and hit a large curb and then ran into the guard rail. I ripped the guard rail off and still proceeded for an additional 150 feet on the grass before the vehicle finally came to a complete stop. It scared the hell out of me.

my vehicle's oil lines to the turbo charger failed and caused a huge oil leak and my car was smoking all over the highway. I had the vehicle towed to a nearby service station recommended by AAA. After discovering the issue, the repairman indicated there was a recall on this exact issue. However, I was never notified by Ford of the recall. When I called Ford I was informed that the recall only applied to vehicles built between Oct and Nov 2016. My vehicle was built in April. I feel that this issue couldn't have been limited to that small window of time, obviously Ford is not sharing the appropriate information with NHSTA. I had to pay $3000 to fix my vehicle for a problem that Ford is well aware this vehicle is still having. I'm deeply disappointed in Ford.

Car electronic steering stopped and I could not turn the wheels.

10/10/2022 ODI #11488701.0

The future that failed on my vehicle was the epas or electronic power assisted steering. This feature failed while I was on the freeway at upwards of 65 mph the steering wheel locked and I was unable to turn the steering wheel. After pulling off of the freeway at slow speeds I was able to give a, very hard like pull to the steering wheel in the direction that I needed it to go. When this feature failed the notification on my dash showed "electronic power assisted steering failure. Service required." Definitely is a danger not only to myself but other drivers on the road who could have been innocently impacted by my car as a failure to be able to steer in the correct direction. This issue is known on 2010 to 2018 Ford vehicles and has been recalled on only certain vehicles not upwards of 20

I don't even know where to begin. Every problem you could imagine with this car only ay 69k miles after fords pathetic powertrian warranty expires. I bought this car at 66k miles spent 20 grand after tax and only made one payment besides the down payment. First off the ptu failed on this vehicle failed after 2k miles witch is a really common problem on this vehicle witch was a $900 part though Ford. Had this replaced and not only 7 days later and barely 1k miles the transmission failed causing the motor to overheat damaging the motor.. Now I have a $400+ payment on a vehicle that needs over $9000 in repairs between the motor and transmission and the dealer wont fix it because I didnt buy and extended warranty and its out of the factory 60k warranty. Note this is a 2016 (performance sedan)

The headlights are designed such that you cannot see corners when making turns. I believe this is incredibly dangerous. When driving on dark roads, you truly cannot see what you are turning into until you make the turn. This was discussed with the dealer and it appears the dealer and Ford are aware of the issue and have redesign headlights for some of the vehicles that have this issue. However, it is my understanding that they have no intentions of correct this on cars already on the road. *tr
