12/29/2018 25,000 mi Fire ODI #11164044.0

Vehicle was sitting idle at a stop light, after being driven for approximately 15 minutes at speeds ranging from 25-50mph. The instrument panel flashed, then went dark, though the vehicle was still running with no other issues immediately noted. Driver pulled into a parking lot about 300' away, put the vehicle into park, and upon exiting saw fire coming from the front of the engine compartment. The fire department responded, but the vehicle was fully involved by the time they arrived on scene 7 minutes later.

The rear trunk release switch does not work once the outside temperature falls below about 40 degrees fahrenheit. And there is no inside trunk release so the trunk cannot be accessed for about 3-4 months of the year due to cold weather.

Beginning on the first of December 2023, the battery has drained every 24 to 48 hours. I have used up the annual roadside assistance I am allowed in the policy year October 2023 through October 2024. The roadside assistance technicians kept telling me I was not driving it enough or I was leaving something on. The tow truck driver I called for a jump this Thursday, in order to drive to the repair facility, suggested the mechanic needed to check every circuit in order to determine what function was draining the battery. The first and potentially not the last drain is the front passenger side door handle. No door handles are currently available from Honda. I have seen complaints, at [XXX] , regarding "parasitic" battery drain on this model year. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM

Lock-out with key fob inside the car, car was not running, parked at work. The car basically 'locked' me out when I put my purse and keys into the car, opened the hood so I could fill the wiper fluid reservoir , closed the door to get wiper fluid out of the back and the car locked the doors. According to the locksmith that opened my car, this is a well known problem - and not just with Honda cars. Thank goodness I was still at work and in a safe location.

Battery will drain overnight and will not retain enough charge to even unlock the doors. Battery tested by two auto part stores and determined the battery is ok. Took vehicle to Honda and said they found no problem. Problem occurred again the same night.

2016 Honda CR-V’s smart locking system failed. The smart locking system caused the car battery to drain if it wasn’t driven within 24 hours. After numerous car battery replacements, a Honda auto repair replaced the door handle and repaired the smart locking system. If $639 was not paid for the needed repair, the car battery would drain and therefore the car would not function. After reaching out to Honda for a reimbursement, they declined. This is frustrating because I have researched online and several others have experienced this issue with their Honda CR-V. The issue simply happened one day and was not caused by a vehicle accident.

My sunroof suddently exploded and left a really big hole when I was driving on freeway and it was very windy outside. I checked and saw there was nothing falling down that can caused the glass broken. The glass was pushed up and outward. The slider was closed when it exploded

The TPMS turns on about very three months. I noted this to be happening while driving at 55 MPH on a highway. I usually have to stop in order to find out if I have a flat tire. In all cases it was a false alarm that stays like that until I take it to be looked at by the dealer. They do get it fixed but it keeps happening over and over, and they say there is not much they can do to have it permanently fixed.

A snowstorm on december 5, 2016 left me unable to navigate the road safely because the all season tires bought with the car became stiff with cold and hazardous in snow. Bridgestone dueler h/p sport as p265/65r17 are clearly not all season tires and do not belong on cr-vs sold in cold climate states. I attach my receipt for other tires I purchased to replace these and my letter to Honda.

Vehicle: 2016 Honda CR-V Mileage: ~133,120 miles Component: Driver-side seat belt retractor The driver-side seat belt retractor failed during normal use and became mechanically locked and unusable. There was no crash, no collision, no misuse, no airbag deployment, and no SRS warning light at the time of failure. This failure rendered the primary occupant restraint inoperable. I requested coverage under Honda’s Seat Belt Limited Warranty, which states that seat belts that fail to function properly during normal use are covered. Honda denied warranty coverage for the driver-side seat belt retractor based on internal component classification, not because the seat belt functioned properly. The warranty denial was final. I was informed that the failure would not be covered under the seat belt w

Tire pressure monitoring system light comes on frequently and has been checked out by the dealer service department six times since the end of october, 2017. Was told Honda has to work on a fix for this problem. Was told to visually inspect tires to make sure they are not low on pressure. How can you tell if there is something really wrong with the tire monitoring system if the system isn't checked properly each time the TPMS light comes on which would be frequently.
