Gas smell coming through the vents started off every now and then and became more frequent. Pulled it in the garage and the gas fumes made the total garage smell. Took it to the dealer and they said it is fuel line, that sits near the engine. It is in the shop now. After googling I see several other people have had this issue with this car. They cannot tell me yet what caused the problem, I am waiting to hear that

Hose clamps attaching the high pressure fuel line leading from the firewall-mounted fuel pump to the central fuel rail failed to maintain a tight connection. This leads to fuel leaking past the hose clamp connection into the open engine compartment during cold weather (sub-40 degrees fahrenheit) while the engine is running. When the ambient temperature in the engine compartment rises, either by environment or by heat generated from the engine, the fuel leak subsides. Symptoms when this occurs are a very strong fuel smell in the passenger compartment and also, upon further inspection, observation of liquid fuel pooling on the top side of the engine compartment under tray. Internet research also indicate that this is a fairly widespread problem affecting at least 2015-16 w205 model veh

An independent service center diagnosed my car as having a fuel leak stemming from the fuel rail and fuel injectors. This is a fire hazard due to a gas leak. There is a gas smell in the interior cabin that I noticed approximately one month ago. I believe this pertains to NHTSA ID #21V961, and I would like NHTSA to consider including my VIN in this recall.

Mercedes Benz Selma, Texas Dearlership refuses to service known issue with fuel system leaks on C300 because they cannot reproduce problem. Problem is that don't have the correct environment to test for this know problem. “There is a short rubber fuel line/hose in the engine compartment that is attached with compression clamps; the hose connects the fuel line from the gas tank to the high pressure fuel pump. When it gets cold outside (below ~40 degrees Fahrenheit) the clamps loosen a bit and the hose will leak gas. This is what you will smell in the cabin. Once it gets warmer outside or the engine bay warms up, the smell will tend to go away. No clue how they've gone all this time without a safety recall, but I did make a report to the NHTSB last month when it started happening to me.”

My 2016 Mercedes Benz C300 started giving off funky fumes last year in 2024, now the fumes have turned into the smell of gas in 2025. Everytime that I call the dealership on Rockside Rd./ Broadway, located in Bedford Ohio, they give me an excuse as to why it's not their responsibility to correct the issue. What can I do?

2016 MB 300 C, AWD at 87000 miles started giving gas fuel smell when parked in our garage after driving. I took to a local Foreign Car Repair facility and they found a fuel leak at the fuel injector pump. The mechanic changed the Fuel Injector Pump (Bosch) at a total cost of $745.31. Since the change in the pump, the smell has stopped and I feel safe. Who is responsible to reimburse this cost to me?

Vehicle developed OBD-II code P052E related to crankcase ventilation/PCV system malfunction. Issue causes improper crankcase pressure, rough idle, oil vapor smells, and check engine light. Independent research shows this is a common failure on 2015–2017 Mercedes C300 models. Repair requires replacement of crankcase vent/PCV assembly. This appears to be a premature emissions system failure.

Mercedes-Benz comes with ECO Start/Stop feature. This feature automatically activates when you start the vehicle and have your seat belt fastened with the door closed. When this function is activated, your vehicle’s engine will shut off when you are at a complete stop, like at a stoplight or in standstill traffic. Once it’s time to start moving again, the vehicle’s engine will automatically restart as soon as you lift your foot off the brake. Randomly experiencing an issue with this feature, vehicle will not restart or it will shutdown in the middle of the road, on the busy road or freeway, it is very unsafe or dangerous. In last two years, we experienced this issue for at least 10 times, at least 5 times vehicle was towed to Mercedes Benz service center in Pleasanton, CA. They replaced t

I bought my 2016 Mercedes c63s amg from a dealer in edmond, oklahoma (jackie cooper BMW) and they sold me the car with less than 10% tread left on the tires. Shortly after the purchase I called the dealer for assistance and they flat out denied any wrong doing. They claimed they did a "rigorous inspection" but somehow the tires that were down to their wear bars passed it. To make matters worse, I purchased a $4100 tire/wheel package from them and they also have not activated the service (after 23 days of purchase) so I cannot get new tires put on without paying an extra $1200 out of pocket for the high performance tires that the car requires. Management has not returned any of the calls & the sales agent (bryan leonard) also have not been very helpful. Nearly a month later after the purcha

I have owned the vehicle for only about 4 months. My wife took the car out for a short errand and returned to tell me that the engine light was on. I took the vehicle to AutoZone and had the code ran on their diagnostic computer and it returned a P052E code for “Positve Crankcase Ventilation Regulation Valve Performance”. I have done a lot of research and have learned that this is a common problem and incurs huge financial impact to unsuspecting buyers. Mercedes has even made improvements to the part because of this issue. It’s not safe due to the possibility of oxygen build occurring in the combustion chamber. This part should be recalled and repaired by Mercedes.

I am writing to formally report the premature failure and subsequent replacement of the electronic rack and pinion on my 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic sedan. This repair was performed at Sears Imported Autos on 4/19/2024, at a cost of $5,840.14. Invoice number at Sears Imported Autos is XXX. My vehicle, VIN [XXX] , had only 74,427 miles at the time of the failure. The failure of a critical steering component at such a low mileage is highly unusual and, I believe, directly attributable to a latent manufacturing defect. I have recently become aware of a prior recall (NHTSA Campaign Number 18V850000) concerning the electronic power steering rack on these EXACT vehicles. While I acknowledge that my vehicle VIN was not included in the official scope of the previous NHTSA recall, the natur

While driving past, close proximity or even going 30-40mph on a local road or even 60-70 on a highway the break assist function will repeatedly beep, and most times it will stop my car for me. This occurs also, when there are no cars near me! It’s very sudden, and unpredictable. on more occasions than few, if i’m driving in the middle of a 3- lane road, and cars are stopping in the far right lane, or making a turn my break assist will malfunction and automatically break. Multiple occasions I feared that a car may rear-end me. It happens alot. Very scary. This has been occurring for more than 2 years.
