2016 Nissan Altima owner complaints

The car has a CVT transmission that is not functioning properly. The transmission shudders, acclerates on its own, or turns off completely when it warms, it is not safe to drive on the freeway or drive in warm weather due to the fact that the car shuts off when it heats up. It is unsafe to drive, it continues to be a problem with many of nissans CVT transmissions that they are not fixing.

My car has several problems with accelerating either during highway speeds or from a dead stop. First , the car starts fine and engine runs fine, does not idle rough or stall out. The problems arise after driving for a few miles and I come to a complete stop, either at a stop light or sign. When the light turns green and I attempt to move the car, there is a severe lag in response to get the car moving. When it does start moving (after about 5-6 seconds), it barely rolls forward at less than 1 mile an hour. It does not matter how many times I depress the gas pedal, or if I have it to the floor, the car barely moves without any sound or rise in RPMs. The car may cover a distance from 15 feet to 150 feet at this snail pace until suddenly the RPMs shoot up to 4-5000 and the vehicle takes off

My 2016 altima sr is experiencing a sporadic delay when accelerating from a stop. It won't rev or do anything for a couple of seconds no matter how far down the pedal is. Then all of a sudden it'll go. There is no check engine light and no codes. If I turn the car off, it's like it resets and has more power afterwards. The dealer has consulted their 'tech line', this happen twice one at 38000 and now 68000.

Locks are unlocking themselves driving and when parked

Headlight lowbeams are dim. Replaced with new bulbs, no improvement. Headlight lens are crystal clear from being clear vinyl wrapped when purchased new.

The headlights on the Nissan Altima are dangerously dim. In dry weather the only way to see at night is with the high beams on. When it is raining even that doesn't help. I paid several hundred dollars to have the bulbs replaced at a Nissan dealer and they advised they likely will not help. At no time did the Nissan dealer tell me that there was a recall on the headlights, so I found this out too late to be included. We have purchased four Nissans through the years, and this will likely be the last due to how unsafe this is. Nissan needs to fix this.

The low beam is almost useless due to not providing enough light to drive with them on. I need to use my high beams just to make it safe for me to drive at night. Not safe for me or other drives on the road. Must be a problem for all 2016 Nissan altimas. Thinking about trading because of this problem.

My airbag light is on. It just came on one day. (No accident or anything else to cause this to happen) I checked to see if a recall was on my vehicle but it was not. There are other Nissan Altima"s that have a recall for this reason.

Stating briefly auto not in motion turning the steering wheel side to side there is a clanking noise in the steering column ...while driving in motion making right / left turns steering column feels kind of slack. Occurrences city and h'way. This was reported to the dealership during a service oil change in september 2017..

Car dangerous hard to steer on free way very dangerous when between 2 car you in the middle, car dip and swerve with light touch of steer wheel, it act as if is have no wheel alignment, and the car front end drag the groung when turning into a drive way very noisy. Wipers at night in a heavy rain you have to stop can not see the road at all .lucky I am a good driver .

I have had this vehicle since December 28, 2017, and during that time, the battery has been replaced nearly five times at the dealership. The reason they provided is that the battery now lasts less than two years. I have repeatedly asked them to investigate whether there might be an issue with the electrical components, but they have refused to do so, even while my vehicle was still under warranty.

Car will either not start or heists to start code with check engine light is P0340 for camshaft position sensor I have already replaced this once before 2yrs ago it should not need to be replaced again so soon. I have read online where others with same make and model cars having similar issues and their cars stalled while driving mine hasn't as of yet, but could when I take to mechanic shop. This is a major safety problem. There has been a recall but not for my year model car and needs to be fixed for more cars are having similar issues and is a major concern. I have been having chronic issues with engine on my 2016 Nissan altima. Initially (11/2016), the car would "jump/skip" when I would try to accelerator and even feeling like it was going to cut off on me. When I called I was informed it was due to defect and it was on recall. The issues appeared to resolve until 11/2017 I started experiencing the same issue but worse and was not able to accelerate while I was driving to work and back home. This occurred on florida turnkpike and local highways. Cars were hooking at me because I was not able to proceed when light turned green, even though I was flooring the car pedal. I just purchased the car , they won’t service the car under there warranty so I decided to search the vin to find there is unresolved recall with the vehicle.
