Approximately five times over six years, my 2016 Ram pickup engine will shut off on its own with no warning. It has always happened on the highway at high speed. This puts others at risk as I must put on hazard lights and coast to a stop with minimal control of the vehicle while other motorists try to avoid hitting me. The instrument lights remain on and once stopped, I can put transmission into park and restart the vehicle. I would allow an inspection at any time, but one has not been done by others yet as it is so random.

The truck was in park and turned on and not moving on a flat surface in a parking garage without the emergency brake engaged. As I attempted to get into the vehicle it started to roll. I am 4'11 and the truck did not have a step. I attempted to climb into the vehicle twice and on the second time I fell to the ground and injured my left knee as I could not get proper footing to get into the truck. My husband was able to stop the truck from the passenger side by getting his foot to the break as the shift knob would not work. *****this is a truck that was rented from budget rental car******
My 2016 Ram 1500 big horn crew cab 4x4 rolled away after being parked. It had been parked for about 3 minutes then I heard a loud screeching noise, turned around as my truck started to roll and jerk down the driveway which has a slight incline. I was able to get to my truck and stop it before it hit the parked car on the other side of the road. I took my truck to the dealership, they kept it for 2 days and I was told that there were no codes recorded on the truck and that they couldn't duplicate the roll away. I have only had my truck for 6 weeks and it has less than 1200 miles on it.
The vehicle has an upgraded 32 gallon fuel tank, however on e with the fuel light on the vehicle only takes 24 gallons maximum. The dealership claims this is a software issue which has no fix at the moment. The dealer claims the software still reads the 26 gallon standard fuel tank.

Traveling at hwy speeds the vehicle lurched as if the brakes were suddenly slammed on then removed. Speed was reduced to 60 mph, no sounds or vibrations noticed so began accelerating back to hwy speeds. RPM kept building but speed was not increasing as normal. Within a few seconds loud banging under the vehicle was heard and half the drive shaft came out the back flipping end over end down the hwy. The shaft struck the grill of a jeep following me but no damage was seen upon inspection. The truck came to a relatively calm stop on the side of the road. Both halves of the drive shaft were recovered, one from the middle of the road, the other about 20 yards into the ditch. Rear diff was spilling fluid. All casings and covers seemed to be intact. Towed to Dealer, inspected and they said
On dec 22 I pulled up to my fianc's school put the 2016 Ram 1500 in park my foot was still on the break. I took my seatbelt off and so did my fianc. Took my foot of the break and the truck went forward. Looked down verified the shifter was in park fiance verified also and the d light was blinking on my dial shifter but was turned to park. Put the emergency break on turned the key of turned the key back on and low and behold it was in park and p was lit up. This is the 2nd time this has rolled forward while in park. Last time it took my garage door out. I filed a previous complaint 10936408 about that incident but wanted to put in a complaint for this incident also. This is getting to be quite dangerous. I do use the emergency brake when I park now. Hard habit to get into when your vehicle
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. When the contact placed the vehicle in park, it reversed independently and struck a pole without warning. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was driven home. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.
After putting truck into reverse then putting in back into forward gear the truck will not recognize the fact it is suppose to go forward. Not in 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. This has happened to us twice. I have found out you have to actually turn the truck off and then restart. First time I had to do this a couple of times this last time it then went into forward drive with the 4 wheel drive setting. The first time was in a parking lot. The second time I was on a road in front of our home. I had stopped to check the mail and had to back up in order to go into our driveway. After backing up it would not go forward.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. While the contact's son was driving 20 MPH, the low oil pressure warning indicator illuminated. The contact parked the vehicle on the side of the road and checked the oil pressure. After restarting the ignition, the warning indicator turned off, smoke poured out from the vents, and flames were seen under the hood. The contact parked on the side of the road and was able to extinguish the fire under the hood with water. The fire and police departments were contacted, but did not arrive at the scene. Coolant bipass valve stuck in one position and costs 8 $800 to fix. This was a recall on previous years and clearly hadn't been fixed. Should be under recall

ABS Code C2200-49, anti-lock brake module internal electronic failure. Have not been able to source a new ABS control module for my vehicle. Apparently Dodge/Mopar/Chrysler has stopped producing this part. No ABS makes it dangerous to drive in the snowy/wet conditions prevalent during the winter months, especially in New York State. ABS, traction control, and brake lights are illuminated on dash. Owners manual states that the vehicle should not be driven with the brake light illuminated. Don’t really have a choice but to drive the vehicle, as I can’t afford to park the vehicle for an unknown period of time until the new module becomes available.
Multiple times now my vehicle has been unable to start. After jumping the vehicle, it will stay running. I have taken it to the dealership and left it there for 3 days. (palmen motors kenosha, wi) there were unable to diagnose the problem. In the process, they charged the battery. Within a few weeks, the battery was back dead and the vehicle needs to be jumped to start. The dealership is unable to identify the problem and I have an inoperable vehicle. It is still under warranty. (30,000 miles)
In February 2022 while driving my ABS light came on and stayed illuminated. I pulled over emergently on the freeway worried that my brakes were out. That was not the case, but the light was on and I was not sure if the vehicle could be driven. I got home and called Cutter Pearl City asap and was told that appointments were months away for service/diagnostic (I can only assume that this was due to COVID). I then took it to Capital Auto Repair in Waipio and had them read the code. I was told my ABS module was faulty and needed to be changed, at this point my 2016 truck only had 45000 miles on it and is well cared for-I disappointed but accept that a repair is necessary to drive my car safely. I called back Dodge to discuss my concerns and that I wanted the repair asap for the part. I was the

Electric Power Steering has stopped working completely. A service Power steering warning has popped up on the dashboard.
Driving 40 mph and suddenly motor died warnings for throttle and other flashing but coming around a curve was difficult to steer and stopped on curve and had to be pushed out of the way tried to start to no avail and had it towed to a local dealership where they determined it was a common problem with the tone wheel/ reluctor plate that apparently delaminates and loses part of a magnet on the outside which apparently they is a warranty expressly for this problem for 2014-2018 ram 1500 3.0 eco diesels which I’m being told by the dealership that chrysler says my vehicle is not covered ? Why I don’t understand.
Hello, The safety problem is while driving the truck the fuel gauge needle drops to empty intermittently and a warning light flashes. Now not knowing how much fuel is in the tank is dangerous because running out of fuel especially on the highway will stall the engine followed by loss of brakes and steering. The dealer said its an electrical fuel sender resistor card inside the fuel tank that is shorting out, that alone scares me. Searching online I found out it's a common problem among 2016 Ram trucks. I will not let my family drive this truck until the electrical problem is fixed. Thanks for reading!

My pickup rebel "leans". My driver side will be down 2 inches (entry mode) on the stops while my passenger side is in (area mode). It's really unsafe to drive. Has left me stranded a handful of times. Brought it into the mechanics with no prevail. Does it when it is below 32 degrees.
