It happened while it is the Toyota dealership and car was certified! They just updated the software disabling something and cover up like erasing the face of the problem instead of solving it. 01/17/2020 Toyota motor sales, usa, inc. I was pulling in to parking space at a very low speed. My car started to accelerate and lunged into pared car in front of me. Causing damage to other car and mine. I had my foot on the brake but it didint stop the car. A couple if days before the same thing happened to my husband when he was pulling into parking place and car started to accelerate and lunged forward. We got back the results from Toyota and the said their was nothing wrong with the car. They won't take responsibility for the car. We are left with a car that we are to afraid to drive. We know that it will happen again but just don't know when.

powertrain 2 complaints shown
Received a service bulletin that the CVT needed a software update. We had this done at inver grove Toyota. However, the RPM's continued to fluctuate while driving at lower speeds. Took it back to the dealer and then told the transmission needed to be replaced at the cost of $6000. Car has just over 62000 miles and Toyota would not grant an exception to the warranty to cover the new transmission. We now have thr vehicle at an independent shop who is doing a diagnosis. If they find the transmission has failed, they will be replacing it with a used transmission from a salvage yard.
My 2016 Toyota Corolla suddenly showed a Check Engine light, and the dealer diagnosed a CVT transmission failure with code P2757. This code is linked directly to Toyota’s own TSB T-SB-0150-16 for torque converter clutch/valve-body failure. The dealer confirmed the issue and quoted me $11K to fix it. This is frightening because a failing transmission can slip, hesitate, or lose power at any moment, which puts me and others at risk. There were no early warning signs, just the sudden light. I brought it in immediately, and the problem was fully reproduced and documented by Toyota. My car is available for inspection whenever needed. Toyota corporate reviewed my case but offered very little help since my vehicle is just outside the 7-year timeframe for CA. I bought the extended warranty when
lighting 2 complaints shown
When driving this model, which I own, I believe the LED lighting makes these cars unsafe at night. What I will call the LED horizon which fluctuates greatly on hilly or uneven roads, causes loss of needed vision. Fluctuation in pavement reduces forward vision to as little as a car length going downhill & puts it into the clouds going uphill. & everything in between on slightly uneven roads. The horizon is caused by total lack of light - LED lights don't shade or reflect gradually to darkness, but have that sudden cut off resulting in a tunnel vision effect. I have to live with & drive in foothills at night. I complained by phone & email to manufacturer. I brought up possible rewiring, different bulbs, anything at 5000 mile service & that I'd gladly pay for some lighting improvement. Dealer
2016 Toyota corolla defect. The daytime running lights on/off switch is on the same control as the headlights. The dlrs turns on before reaching the low beam setting as you twist the control. The dlrs are almost as bright as the low beam headlights and utilize the same bulb at a lower wattage. They can be mistaken for your headlights at night and you will be driving around with no taillights because the taillights are not on when the switch is on the dlr setting. I got pulled over by a cop because I had no tail lights one night. The dealer has no solution for this problem. It is only a matter of time until this incompetent design kills someone. Toyota should fire the engineer behind this and order a recall and at the very least rewire the dlr switch to include taillights and boost the watt

My husband and I were driving home from a concert at 10:30 pm on the 110 freeway in san pedro, ca when we heard a loud crash on the roof of the car. We hadn't just driven under an overpass. There was no debris behind us. No one was swerving out of the way to avoid anything. No one who drove passed us reacted at all. We could not figure out what had hit us and kept hearing glass moving around. At one point my husband opened the sunroof slightly and saw a gaping hole in the glass along with glass shards that started falling into the car. When we got home I looked up "exploding sun roofs" and found that spontaneous explosion was not uncommon and there is a class action suit forming and people reported their experiences to you. The car had been parked outside for about 2 1/2 hours. The

steering 1 complaint shown
My SRS airbag warning light came on out of nowhere. Shortly after that my steering wheel continually clicks when I turn it. And within the same day now my horn stopped working as well as all of the buttons on the steering wheel no longer work including the cruise control. The light never went away and the functions of the steering wheel no longer work when there is no cause or reason for this to happen.

The car start up to behave different before 5.000 miles.when accelerating the car was getting first very high RPM,before starting to pick up speed, experiencing some important delays in response.I was trying to address this with Toyota of york and the specialists explained to me about principles of CVT transmission and I was pushed back.at 10.000 and 15.000 miles the car became quite lazy and I just had to go back to the services as the RPM's were not normal. Finally the computer was reset and I start up to recognize the car. In about 3 weeks the car start up to have again some important delays in response. Back to the service - the issue was not recognized the mechanics trying to convince me again about the benefits of CVT transmission...I was never informed or asked if I will be interest

The driver seat belt dont work and once in a great while it will work but even whenever it does latch it still shows the seat belt isn't on and that noise keeps going off but after a while the noise goes off but the symbol is still on the dash board. I recently got hit from behind (09/15/2025) at a red light and no air bags deployed. Im not sure if they were suppose to deploy but either way my seat belt dont work. And I know this isn't a safety matter but my radio doesn't turn off when I turn off my car and I can't lock/unlock my doors with the key fob I have to lock it with the key on the driver door. I have to take the fuse out for the radio so my battery won't die and so the radio turns off.
brakes 1 complaint shown
Brake pedal feels spongy or soft all the time. Have had vehicle to dealer 3 times for stuck fuel door (won't open). Every time nothing found wrong. Tech lubed and tried adjusting fuel door to no avail. Stuck fuel door doesn't happen all the time though. This is a safety issue especially for women who are trying to fuel up when on empty. Fuel door sticks while stationary. Brakes feel spongy when applying brakes while in motion or sitting still. Dealer looked at brakes and said they are fine. Have read several complaints on these corolla's having brake failure! What's next??? A crash in the making!!! Will not buy toyo again.
