2017 Buick Envision owner complaints

When vehicle does automatic software updates from gm, it "blows up" the personalization menu. I am in physical therapy now from car seat that automatically went to position 1 when I opened car door. Easy exit had been turned on by update. I had it turned off because it never worked right with memory seats. Now after another update and menu was skewed again. Easy exit turned back on as well as seat heaters on start up. Both had been turned off in menu.

Car has electronic child safety door locks activated when using the hard button that typically locks only windows. Wife took a nap in back seat on lunch break at work, didn't realize window lock button was accidentally engaged, locked with remote from back seat while car was running. Door remote would not allow the back doors and passenger door to remain locked and door handles would not open from inside even when using the remote. She was trapped in the back. With a very bad back and knee it was not easy to climb to front driver side door to unlock from there, the only place this would work. If locking with the remote, unlocking with remote should be possible and was not. Literally trapped in back seat and only way out is to get to the front seat to unlock from there. What

Brakes failed while coming to a stop causing me to crash into the back of someone. Also all dash and radio and shifter lights went out and came back on at the same time brakes failed. Brake issue still not fixed by GM Buick.

Tire pressure monitoring system, or 'TPMS' notified me of a flat tire. It showed loss of tire pressure in the rear passenger rire, however, the driver rear tire was the one that was flat.

During multiple drives the vehicle completely shuts off when driving or at lower speeds. When this occurs (4 times over the last 3 months) the vehicle has no power or ability to restart creating a major safety issue. You cannot turn on the hazards or anything in the vehicle. The vehicle is still in drive (because you were driving when it occurred) and so you're unable to shift back into park to restart. After some time you are able to restart the vehicle and continue driving.

The infotainment center goes blank and at times cant shut the radio off. Restarted car, opening doors and pressing buttons doesn't shut radio off. Car is at dealer for 7th time. Shown dealer videos and they have been unable to figure out source.

Entire dash cluster has gone out. Screen completely black. Including after update in june 2019. Car was in motion, happens at various speeds. Almost cause an accident. Dealer unable to source issue after 3 visits to date in 2019. Gm technicians unable to solve issue. Gm and dealer does not believe this to be safety is and keeps allowing car to be returned to service.

The local dealer (todd wenzel Buick GMC of grand rapids, 2727 28th st se, grand rapids, mi, 49512) was made aware of the failure; however, no additional assistance was offered. The manufacturer was also contacted and stated that there was no failure. Additional assistance was not offered. The failure mileage was approximately 20.

The headlight illumination on the 2017 Buick envision or inadequate. They are dim and lack distance projection even on bright. We can barely see to get up and down the hill of our driveway. We do not drive at night unless we know the road well. The headlights should be recalled because they will cause accidents and there will be lawsuits.

Dash lights go out when you are in a shady area. Stay out way to long. No way to adjust to make them bright. Collision alert goes off when you are not near hitting anything. Clock went from est to west coast time. Car makes a knocking sound in the rear end. Also makes a scrapping sound. Doesn't matter if your going up hill, downhill, left or right. Never know when it will do it. Always when the speed is between 45 & 55 MPH. This is the second Buick envision that was repurchased. Same issue with the first one. Worked on many times by garage & even a rep sent from Buick. The problem could not be fixed. This was 18 months of issues to get a resolution. Happy that I have a Chevy equinox now.

The interior windshield, side widows and rear window accumulates moisture and frost and it drips down on my dashboard, down my windows, and forms a puddle in the rear of my vehicle as it melts down. I’m afraid this is going to destroy my electrical system and the interior of my vehicle. I have to wipe up the water with a towel.

I was driving on the freeway at full speed when the car abruptly shut off. I had no power and all dash lights went black. It was very frightening. I don't know how but I managed to get it to the side of the road. It has been in the shop for over a week and they still have not found the cause. I hope this does not happen to anyone else.

The vehicle shakes on exceleration it is worse turning left or right but also does the shaking going straight,the dealer called gm engineering and so far they have done nothing it has been a month now and I am not the only one that has this problem this car is an all wheel drive envision premium 2

On at least 5 different occasions the dash board lights and infotainment system have went completely black this is at varying speeds from 25 miles to 60 miles and even sitting at a stop light this has happened. When it does happen its only for couple seconds. This has also happen twice while my teenage son was driving and scared him quite a bit. Most recently while at a stop light I let my foot of the brake and push gas I get a message saying park brake released the doors unlock then lock. I try to move the steering wheel but its hard like it's locked I then get message saying power steering has been reduced drive carefully. Then a following message saying all wheel drive has been turned off. This has happened about 7 or 8 times randomly after coming to a stop for a red light in which ligh

Car keeps jolting forward on it’s. This almost caused me to slam into the back of someone’s car on the highway in bumper to bumper traffic. While trying to slow down the car forcefully slams forward. Other times I have been trying to accelerate from a stop and the car slams forward. When this happens everyone is thrown forward this started happening after repair at Jack Gimbalvo Buick body shop in York. Jack Giambalvo Buick dealership said they can’t duplicate the problem and there are no misfires. I will be calling corporate to make another complaint. I have already been in an accident in this car due to the brakes not working correctly and the whole dash malfunctioning.

I was returning home from shopping. As I approached a stop sign, I applied the brakes and the brake pedal went completely to the floor: Fortunately, I was able to stop before entering the intersection. I had the vehicle towed to a nearby Buick dealer to determine the cause of the brake failure. I was told the left front brake line had a hole in it causing total loss of brake fluid - cause unknown. There were no warning lamps or other symptoms of the problem prior to the brake failure. The brake line was replaced by the dealer at significant cost to me.

The contact stated that after parking the vehicle in the driveway on a rainy evening, upon entering the vehicle the following day, the contact became aware that the sunroof had opened independently and allowed rainwater to enter the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed. The contact was informed that the sun/moon roof motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.

Cruise control self engaged while going 65 MPH. Hands were not anywhere near cruise control button. It was in the middle of a thunderstorm luckily didn't cause accident

The contact's friend owns a 2017 Buick Envision. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, the engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the failure was due to the sensor for the catalytic converter. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 179,000.

1 month old it developed a vibration/shimmy in the steering and felt on the floor of the care that could be felt by driver and passenger. Shimmy started when accelerating and turning and progressed to also when acceleration when driving straight ahead. It is now 9 months old and I can feel while driving on the highway at higher speeds. Dealer contacted Buick for advice since they were unsure what was causing the vibration, told to replace front axil but was no better. Continued to request repair but dealership and Buick, stated cause of problem unkown and no fix is in development. Told it was a "characteristic of the vehicle": the vibration-shimmy is getting worse and I am fearful of a catastrophic failure of whatever part/parts are faulty.
