2017 Ford Fiesta owner complaints

The contact stated while driving 65 MPH with the cruise control engaged, the contact depressed the clutch to shift gear however, the clutch seized, and the contact was unable to shift into gear. The contact placed the vehicle into neutral and veered to the side of the road. The contact looked under the hood and smelled an abnormal chemical odor coming from the engine. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle with a faulty clutch. The contact was informed that the clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

On occasion while backing up steep at home driveway (aprox 15-20 degrees) transmission slips out of gear and rolls forward. Step on brake immediately and instantly shifts back into reverse. Has happened 3-5 times since vehicle was new.

Car refuses to start while in p (park). Will start in n (neutral) with difficulty.

The contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. In September 2022 we are visiting my son it’s his first year off to college.. We were pulling out of the parking lot of my sons dorm. We turned the car on and started to drive, all of sudden the car stopped moving it would not move forward or backwards..It was the transmission, we have order the parts but they have been on back order. It’s Dec. 30 we have been without a car and parts. Almost 4 months we have been dealing with this..

Clutch "A" stuck engaged...loses power and if driven for a while dash lights up saying "transmission is hot wait 5 minutes " In addition to the previous issue, the car will not will not start right away. If you turn the key forward and pull the car down into last gear and back up into park, the car will start most times, otherwise I will have to jump start it.

Purge valve leaking, has caused car to stall in idle at intersection. Read in forums it is a common issue in focus and fiesta models.

After and while gassing up car stalls and does not start up right way.. Sounds like EVAP sensor and canister issues and Ford does not want to know about it..and car only has 60000 miles

My name is [XXX] (phone [XXX] , email: [XXX] ) I bought a Ford Fiesta 2017 VIN # [XXX] in Feb 2021. The car with 25K. Currently, at 59K Cylinder 1 and Cylinder 3 misfire because coolant gets in both cylinders, diagnosed by a local car mechanic! When driven, the car is a fire hazard!!! I’ve submitted a claim to Ford Motor Company [XXX], and they replied they don’t have a program that can help me! Next, I took the car to Ford's authorized service, Ted Britt Chantilly, VA. The car stayed there 11/7-11/21. According to them, the problem was only a cracked spark plug near cylinder 3. After I paid the diagnostic fee plus the repair cost. The car started exhibiting the misfire problems within the first 10 miles driven. The car was returned to the Ford Service department the next morning 11/22.

My airbag deployed after an accident burnt my left hand and then caught on fire and was burning and then deployed after it burned. I was driving the car when I had the accident

Drivers door since purchasing the car in 2017 when it's cold out "winter time" by drivers door once open, will not latch back and close- takes it warming up before my drivers door will latch and shut . Temps 30 or under , the mechanism freezes and will not allow the door to latch shut

The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the lug nuts needed to be replaced and the failure was a known issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to a tire store where the lug nut set was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

Only had vehicle a month.had 2 blow outs on tires.have had problems with suspension since that time.had to several alignments and replace more tires due to ware.have problems with steering mostly on the passenger side still continues
