The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH with the cruise control engaged, the contact depressed the clutch to shift gear however, the clutch seized, and the contact was unable to shift into gear. The contact placed the vehicle into neutral and veered to the side of the road. The contact looked under the hood and smelled an abnormal chemical odor coming from the engine. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle with a faulty clutch. The contact was informed that the clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The contact stated that she pulled to the side of the roadway. The contact stated that she continued driving; however, the failure recurred while driving. On occasion while backing up steep at home driveway (aprox 15-20 degrees) transmission slips out of gear and rolls forward. Step on brake immediately and instantly shifts back into reverse. Has happened 3-5 times since vehicle was new.

Due to the failure, the contact's daughter had the vehicle towed to auffenberg Ford north, inc. (115 regency park, o'fallon, il 62269) where the contact was informed that the clutch failed inside the transmission and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. In September 2022 we are visiting my son it’s his first year off to college.. We were pulling out of the parking lot of my sons dorm. We turned the car on and started to drive, all of sudden the car stopped moving it would not move forward or backwards..It was the transmission, we have order the parts but they have been on back order. It’s Dec. 30 we have been without a car and parts. Almost 4 months we have been dealing with this..

Clutch "A" stuck engaged...loses power and if driven for a while dash lights up saying "transmission is hot wait 5 minutes " In addition to the previous issue, the car will not will not start right away. If you turn the key forward and pull the car down into last gear and back up into park, the car will start most times, otherwise I will have to jump start it.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed and fixed but in 4 months again the problem showed in the car. The contact was informed that the canister purge valve needed to be replaced.

My name is [XXX] (phone [XXX] , email: [XXX] ) I bought a Ford Fiesta 2017 VIN # [XXX] in Feb 2021. The car with 25K. Currently, at 59K Cylinder 1 and Cylinder 3 misfire because coolant gets in both cylinders, diagnosed by a local car mechanic! When driven, the car is a fire hazard!!! I’ve submitted a claim to Ford Motor Company [XXX], and they replied they don’t have a program that can help me! Next, I took the car to Ford's authorized service, Ted Britt Chantilly, VA. The car stayed there 11/7-11/21. According to them, the problem was only a cracked spark plug near cylinder 3. After I paid the diagnostic fee plus the repair cost. The car started exhibiting the misfire problems within the first 10 miles driven. The car was returned to the Ford Service department the next morning 11/22.

Despite multiple visits, the engine light remained illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer who diagnosed the vehicle with a defective pedal sensor. The vehicle was then taken to another independent mechanic for an oil change; after the oil change, the oil warning light appeared on the instrument panel. The contact contacted Roadside Assistance however, Roadside Assistance was unable to replace the tire as the lug nuts were swollen and could not be removed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the lug nuts needed to be replaced and the failure was a known issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to a tire store where the lug nut set was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

Only had vehicle a month.had 2 blow outs on tires.have had problems with suspension since that time.had to several alignments and replace more tires due to ware.have problems with steering mostly on the passenger side still continues
