Two times my 2017 Honda pilot with only 2600 miles on it has lost engine power at speeds of 45 plus miles per hour. The service engine now light flashes along with all other system warnings including emission warnings, vehicle stability warnings, and engine power failure warnings. I have read at least 30 other complaints on the internet about this happening. It is extremely dangerous if there is no shoulder and tractor trailers behind you like happened to me. I was five miles from a safe exit on an uphill incline. This is a very bad accident waiting to happen. Car also feels like it is misfiring often leading up to these events over three days. Vehicle is at dealer a second time, but I am very concerned about what I will be told. The first time I was told nothing is wrong. From wh

While driving at normal speed car suddenly is unresponsive (will not accelerate, looses power, and is jumpy). The computer triggers a limp mode and alerts every code possible on the dash screen, even though all mechanical parts are fine. This computer/electric failure is a risk that is so unpredictable may cause life threatening accident. The certified repair shop has reviewed, reproduced, and is scratching their heads why Honda hasn’t recalled this because several other Pilots are doing the same.
My engine light came on with the words engine emission problem on my 2017 Honda Pilot. Upon research, there is a Honda Warranty Extension on 2017-2019 pilots if you receive error code P0420. I took my vehicle in for service and was told that is indeed the error code, but unfortunately, the fuel injector and connector are on back order and could not be immediately repaired. There have been several complaints online of the fuel pump injector kits on back ordered and people are not able to get their vehicle fixed.
While driving down an empty highway I experienced a large explosive sound upon opening my sunroof cover I noticed my sunroof had exploded. I immediately went to a Honda dealership where I was told there is no such known issue with sunroofs with my model car and that it will not be covered
I was driving down the highway and heard a loud noise. After a couple of minutes, I realized that my sunroof had shattered.

I purchased my 2017 Pilot new from Honda. Around 10,000 miles a code appeared and said Emissions problem and a picture of my engine. I immediately called Honda and took in to service dept. They said my fuel injectors need to be replaced and gave me an extended 150,000 warranty on injectors. Everything ok for awhile…until I hit around 60,000 to 80,000. The emissions engine light came on suddenly then after a few drives/ turning off then on engine it went away. I talked to Honda about this concern they said if light not staying on could be nothing more than a misfire or need to do a tune up. I did the required tuneup …. Emissions engine light still appearing off and on. Now the emissions engine light hardly goes off and has been doing this since around 117,000 miles and I just recen
with approx 65,000 miles the engine died. While driving on the freeway the engine all of a sudden was making a sound sound then the vehicle stalled. It was towed off the freeway. Honda determined that the engine was destroyed because somehow oil was prevented from getting to the engine. There was oil in the vehicle. The oil level was good but the engine had no oil. Although the 2016, 2018 and 2019 Honda Pilot engines were recalled but not 2017. They told us that they could not really determine why there wasn't any oil in the engine. We had to replace the engine. The original quote was $18,000. After reviewing our service records and speaking to upper management the offered to replace it for $4,062. (we assume they made the offer because the problem was similar to the recalled en
Auto Start does not work. Car frequently stalls when in traffic or at red light and fails to auto start when removing foot from brake.
I am writing to formally document a mechanical failure that occurred while I was driving on a major freeway. While traveling at highway speed, I suddenly heard loud, abnormal knocking and banging noises originating from the engine. Almost immediately, the vehicle lost power and became difficult to control while maintaining speed with surrounding traffic. Within moments, dashboard warning indicators illuminated, and engine performance rapidly deteriorated. Due to concerns for safety and to prevent further damage, I safely maneuvered the vehicle out of traffic and shut the engine off as soon as possible. After stopping, the engine was able to restart; however, it continued to produce concerning mechanical noises. The vehicle was no longer safely operable and required towing. Following insp
The issue with our 2016 Honda Pilot pertains to the Auto Start/Stop feature. The pilot began stalling out after being at stop signs/traffic signals and the vehicle would attempt to re-start and then stall. When stalled it was very difficult to get the car restarted. On several occasions, the vehicle has stalled in the middle of intersections which has been highly dangerous as the vehicle was stalled for several minutes. We have first logged a complaint with the Honda dealership on 06/10/2020. The dealer claimed it could not replicate the issue. We filed another complaint on 04/23/2021 as the problem persisted. The dealer, again, claimed they could not replicate the issue and then stated we needed a new car battery. The dealer is not being honest as we took our vehicle to a local

Traveling about 70 mph on the interstate using cruise control. I don’t think there was a change in steepness/grade, but if there was it was mild. Suddenly, the rpm’s were erratic and the engine and gears seemed out of sync. Pressing the gas pedal didn’t seem to effectively accelerate the vehicle. I don’t believe the brakes were affected. The “D” for drive indicator kept blinking on and off. Multiple warning lights on the dash display: transmission system problem, all wheel drive problem, and interestingly, blind spot monitor problem. The last indicator to show was emissions system problem, and this indicator remained on the screen. I exited the interstate. Shifted to reverse, then parked the car and turned engine off. After a few moments, I restarted the engine and the only anoma
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated to respond, rattled, jerked, and shuddered. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure mainly occurred while driving at 15 MPH and higher speeds. The contact stated that the Push to Start button was inoperable intermittently. A message advising that the Push to Start button was defective was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the transmission fluid flush was performed on several occasions as recommended by the dealer; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately
My husband was driving on the highway to a competition for our daughter. He said the Transmission System Problem light came on 4 different times in 20 minutes. This had happened once while I was driving last year and had never happened again. We took it to our local transmission repair shop and the guy could not get it to repeat and the transmission worked as it should when he was testing it. He said it's something that he thinks is happening on the 6th speed that the rpm is not going to where it should. He said if it continues, we will have to put a new transmission in which will cost around $6000 and we are obviously past the Honda warranty. Looking online, it seems like many pilot owners of the same year are having the same issues. I would like to issue a complaint that Honda n

Engine fails to restart after the engine idle stop shuts off the engine when stopped. It is difficult to restart the engine from this state and creates a safety hazard with the car being disabled for a period of time. It does not happen every time. The battery in this vehicle was replaced 18 months ago and the vehicle has no trouble starting normally.
The auto start stop function has failed multiple times on this vehicle in different situations with multiple different drivers. When my mother in law was driving my vehicle with my kids in the car the vehicle would not restart at a stop light in the middle of town with moderately heavy traffic. It took several tries to get the vehicle started again. This has happened to me several times at stop signs and traffic lights since I don't primary drive the vehicle I forget to turn off the auto start stop function. It has failed several times on my wife as well in similar situations. I have not brought this to the dealerships attention due to no fix available and not want to pay to have them tell me the same thing I already know.
Keyless start system problem error appearing on dashboard. Vehicle has 47,000 miles on it. Electrical is going haywire in that lights intermittently turn on, all error lights flash on dash and dash tries to boot through various ignition states (accessory mode, idle, etc). Car alarm will randomly go off, and it takes several minutes to disengage alarm because key fob not working correctly when alarm is engaged. Had to disconnect car battery to make it stop. Key fob batteries were replaced 6 months ago so not that. Dealership said that they needed to order a part and that Honda was aware of this issue and would pay for about 90% of the cost of parts and labor, so the manufacturer is aware that this is an issue. Dealership spent roughly 2 hours running diagnostics on it. Happens randomly (

We drove from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Alexandria, Virginia on 12/27. About 20 minutes from our destination, we exited the highway onto the parkway and as we were going about 15-18mph on an exit ramp, the closed sun roof imploded. There were no trees, bridges, or even other cars (due to it being near 10pm) nearby to cause this from falling debris. There is no impact site- just a broken roof. It was terrifying and I nearly drove off the road from the sound (my husband and 2 children 9 and 11 were also in the car.) The only reason I did not crash the Pilot was due to the fact that I am pretty cool headed- it took us an additional 20 minutes of driving with an unknown state on the top of the roof to discover what had happened due to the fact that there was no way to exit or pull off the par
