2017 Jeep Renegade owner complaints

Started having problems with the car shifting very hard at random times and at various speeds while driving. Dealer said there was no problem the first time we had it inspected and could not reproduce it at the shop. We continued to have these problems and started to hear our valves knocking so we checked to oil. The oil was two quarts low and barely on the dip stick. We were only midway through oil change and we only service our car at the dealer. We took car to dealer and they said that using a quart of oil every 2000 miles is normal. It may be normal for this car but it is not normal for any car we have ever owned. It is unacceptable that they did not inform us at oil changes that we were having trouble maintaining our oil levels. This would eventually cause our car engine to fail and c

My car stalled and turned off while driving. I was in motion turning from one road onto another in july 2020 and again 2x on dec 23rd, 2020 without any warning. In july the dealer told me it was a "safety feature" for the engine to turn off if the oil is low. It had been 4,729 miles since my last oil change done by the Jeep dealer with synthetic oil (which is good for 6,000 miles). When I had the oil checked after it stalled on dec 23rd the oil was 4 quarts low! There is currently a recall for other 2017 Jeep renegades with the 2.4l engine, but my VIN is not included. There was a class action lawsuit for my year make and model car filed on july 21st, 2020 for this same exact problem.

The oil pressure and engine indicators remained illuminated, and the four wheel drive lock button flashed while attempting to engage the four wheel drive system. Transmission keeps skipping every 30mph increment. Now my car out of nowhere shuts off. It's happened now 3 times in a matter of a week. I will be driving and it doesn't let me accelerate and it asks me to put the car in park and turn it back on. When I try turning it back on it takes 3 times before I can start it back up.

While both stationary and in motion on a highway driving under the speed limit specified to safely engage my 4wd lock and snow terrain would not work. Also both the check engine light and the oil pressure fail warning light have turned on and off multiple times while both stationary and driving on the highway and the street. The sensor has been replaced once and has continued to relight. After researching online I have found that a recall has began called t50- incorrect software combination/fmvss101-2017 Jeep renegade with an issues of faulty circuit panels having multiple indicator lights lighting up deeming it unsafe to drive since the driver would not actually know when they are truely at risk and could be invoked in an accident. The vehicle started back up and was driven to the dealer (reedman toll Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 140 old york rd, jenkintown, pa 19046). It was diagnosed as a safety precaution for the vehicle when the oil was low. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. My car just about stalled but it kept going. But then it got stuck in third gear. I drive all the way to the dealership. They said they never heard bout this problem. Well I just bought the vehicle in 2018 february.

Shortly after, the vehicle stalled and "shift to desired gear" appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was to be towed to ontario Chrysler Jeep Dodge (1202 auto center dr, ontario, ca 91761, (909) 906-7097) for diagnostic testing. Lose of power when accelerating out of parking lot. This now has happened 3 times with no warning light coming on in the car and vehicle is regularly maintained without issues.

I purchased my car back in may of 2018 and have noticed inconsistencies with my fuel consumption as well as a strange kicking feeling when driving at times. I received a notice in the mail in december shortly after going in for some maintenance which detailed the underlying issue. It said that the current fuel pump module on this car is prone to cavitation and that the spontaneous loss of fuel may result in a "sudden loss of motive power, which may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning." I called the number provided on the notice and was again informed that there are no parts available currently to remedy this issue. Driving down I-95 at a speed of 65 car begins to slow down even while im accelerating, was able to pull car over and once I got on shoulder I cut car off to see if that would help, car would not turn back on at all. Had to get towed to the dealer which they said it was the fuel pump, they fixed the problem only for the same thing to be happening a month later, the car keep doing hard jerks and not wanting to accelerate. I should have still had gas in my tank according to my dash. I had just pulled into a parking space at a store and my car just stopped running. Ended up getting it towed and checked over all to find out my car was out of gas. If I was driving and this happened it would not have ended good. No lights popped up on my dash. I showed I had plenty of gas still. Since then I have kept it at half a tank or over and each time I fill up it is taking a different amount of fuel. When I am driving the car, it jerks. I have all my maintenance up to par. The dealership can find nothing wrong with it.

My car has cut off with out notice while driving on highway three times, always at least a 1,000 miles before my next oil change . I can not make it 3.000 without having to get an oil change

The passenger safety belt latch comes undone for no reason. This happens frequently. We always check to make sure it is properly fastened with the clicking sound. While driving, the buckle comes unlatched causing a safety issue. I have taken my Jeep to the Jeep Dealer and they stated there are no recalls on this particular ID and that both safety belt systems will have to be replaced for $700. This is a safety hazard due to a defective safety belt system.

The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, she was notified that the front passenger’s side seat belt was not securely buckled. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer, and it was confirmed that the seat belt buckle strap was inoperable. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being available and the cost of the repair. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V680000 (Seat Belts). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

My electrical power steering module is experiencing technical issues and my steering wheel locked while driving 55 MPH on the highway.

This Jeep Renegade model have had various problems including rapid oil loss caused by cracks in the oil pump housing, as well as a loss in fuel pressure and I believe I’m experiencing these problems and there hasn’t been a recall for me vehicle so Id like to see if it needs to be recalled

Shortly after purchasing my vehicle I was informed that one of my lights had “blown out” but upon further inspection the light still works but is very dim due to a black lense. I recently noticed that the other light is starting to turn black also. My mother has a 2017 jeep renegade and one of hers is also having this issue.
